ITunes keeps repeating same song

I'm trying to listen to some of my music from my Windows desktop. I locate the album I want and start the first song, but it won't advance to the next song - it just keeps repeating the first song.  I have iTunes 12.0.1.26.
Anyone know what I am not doing correctly?
Thanks,
Diane Koers

I looked under file but I couldn't find the "Genius & Playlist" option. I also looked under the other options on the top left side but I couldn't find it there either. And all "Genius suggestions" does for me is show similar songs already purchased in my library. It doesn't show me anything new that I haven't purchased.

  • TS3474 keeps repeating same song automatically

My nano keeps repeating same song automatically- I can manually change to the next song.

It sounds like the repeat setting has been enabled. See page 21 of your iPod's User Guide for instructions on turning it off.

  • My new nano keeps repeating same song...how do I get it to go to next on list or at least duffle?

My new nano keeps repeating same song...how do I get it to go to next on list or at least duffle?

I have an iPod Nano 7th generation and I know of a couple of ways to shuffle the playlists.  When you select the Playlist, from Home>Music>Playlists, there is a shuffle feature at the top of the screen that will shuffle that individual playlist.  Also, if you tap the screen quickly while the one song is repeating, a menu will come up with the ability to select repeat, which is the icon on the left.  I'm guessing if you were to tap the repeat button it would turn the repeat feature off.  Another way to shuffle is to shake the Nano while the screen is lighted, and a song is playing.  This shaking will shuffle ALL playlists.  Of course you need to have the shuffle feature activated which you can do from Home>Settings>Music and making sure the "Shake to shuffle feature" is ON.

  • IPOD KEEPS REPEATING SAME SONG

ipod 16GB keeps repeating same song

While playing any song on your iPod, tap the artwork to bring up the scrubber bar and additional controls. On the left hand side is a option for repeat. You want to make sure this icon is white (meaning it is set to Off). If it isn't tap it either one or two times to change its current setting.
    Any luck there?

Why does my ipod touch keep repeating the same song continually when it's in shuffle mode?

    Turn off repeat.
Play the song, tap the repeat icon until it is white=off.

  • ITunes playing repeating same song, wont play thru list

I have restored the phone, can't figure out why it will only repeat a song.  Started doing this out of the blue.  Even does it if I enable shuffle.  Stumped

How odd, the only thing I can think of to try is to turn off crossfade if you have it on.

OK.  If it's older than 6th gen, it has a click wheel (not a touch screen), correct?  The older design works differently for the Repeat setting.  From the main screen on the iPod, select Settings.  On the Settings screen, find Repeat.  It is probably set to One right now.  Select it until it says either Off or All.

  • TS2530 iTunes keeps "updating" my songs information without my consent

iTunes keeps modifying my songs information such as "year, track number, compositor" wich I usually have in blank, and don't want to have that information! Anyway to stop that?

Why can't you set it to manually update?
Connect your iPod to the computer. When it appears in iTunes go to edit-->preferences. Click the iPod tab. Set it to manually manage music. Click OK.
    Why doesn't that work?

  • IPhone shuffle keeps playing same songs

Why does my iPhone play the same songs when I choose shuffle? I can hear same song possibly twice in one hour. Any help would be great so I can have it not repeat same songs so frequently.

With the song playing, tap the cover art. You will see a scrubber bar and a repeat icon and a shuffle icon. Tap the repeat button - blue is on, white is off.
This is explained on page 63 of the manual:

  • ITunes Syncs The Same Songs Everytime

iTunes 10.6 with new iPhone 4S
When I sync my iPhone everything syncs normally but about 120 songs keep syncing over and over.  I did a little research and it appears that it's the ID3 tags need re-doing to fix it.  The problem is it scrolls thru it so fast it's next to impossible to get the songs with the problem.
Is there a way to get a list of the problem songs?
Is there an easy way to fix this issue?

I had this problem for a while and it's really annoying especially if you have a large collection and multiple songs that have this issue. Everyday I add a few new songs to my iPhone and every time I have to wait for those track to re-sync before I can add one new track. I looked all over and couldn't find anything to help. I tried editing the mp3tags and converting the songs with another program and even downloading another copy of the file but no matter what every time I placed them back into iTunes it just kept happening.
I have no problems with my iPods just my iPhone. The only difference I could think of is that I have the phone set up to convert the songs with a higher bit rate to 128 AAC when they sync to the iPhone. iTunes does the conversion on the fly without actually adding the 128 AAC file to iTunes library, I figured out every song I had a problem with was being converted from a higher bit rate.
SOLUTION =  I just converted those songs to 128 AAC and then replaced the original tracks with the new smaller songs. Remove the original problem songs from the iPhone and sync. PROBLEM SOLVED. It no longer re-syncs the same songs over and over. I have plugged my iPhone in hundreds of times and I no longer have the issue. I still have the higher quality songs on  iTunes and on my iPods I just don't sync them to iPhone. It does suck that I have to have multiple copies of the same song in a different format but it's a minor inconvenience compared to waiting for iTunes to convert those files on the fly every time I plug my phone in.
So just check your iPhone settings on the summary page if it's set to convert the higher bit rates check the info for the problem songs. If the bit rate is higher than 128 use this method and it should take care of the problem. If you don't know how to convert songs with iTunes just go to the "Edit" menu select "Preferences" then "Import Settings". Change it to AAC 128 bit rate click "Ok" . Left click on the problem songs and select "Create AAC Version"
OzziesMAC- I had a similar issue with catching the songs. If you have a lot of songs and have trouble catching which tracks are re-syncing just grab a pencil and paper and write down the names of as many as you can catch. Use this fix on them and then sync. Afterwards unplug and re-plug the iPhone and repeat the procedure until you knock out all the problem tracks. I had over a hundred and I knocked them all out in less than an hour. It's well worth it.
Let me know if this method works for you. Good Luck.

My new IPhone 4 keeps playing the same song and won't play the next one! I have reinstalled the software and reset it, but still no luck.
