Assuming that you are talking about the iTunes Store on an iPad, go to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Sign out. Sign in with the new ID.

  • Trying to set up iCloud on my iPhone 4. It's trying to use an old Apple ID that I no longer use. It would let me put in my current Apple ID

I am trying to set up iCloud on my iPhone 4. It wants me to use an old Apple ID that I dont use any more. It won't let me change it to my current Apple ID. How can I fix this?

    Hi bluegirl26,
Borrowing a step from this account troubleshooting article, here is how you can change the signed in iCloud Apple ID:
    iCloud: Account troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3988
Ensure that you are actively logged in to iCloud with your Apple ID on your iOS device, Mac, or PC:
    iOS 5 or later:
    Tap Settings > iCloud.
Review the iCloud settings to ensure the account is set up properly.
    Cheers,

  • I'm trying to setup my new iphone and the Apple ID it asks for is my friends old Apple ID that she no longer has access to. How can I fix this?

I'm trying to setup my new iphone and the Apple ID it asks for is my friends old Apple ID that she no longer has access to. How can I fix this so I can use my new phone? The first step asks for my iCloud info but then asks for my friends after I agree to the terms.

The iPhone is new, has never been used. When asked if I want to set it up as a new phone, restore from an iTunes backup, or my iCloud backup I selected iCloud. It then askes for me to sign in with my Apple ID, I then agree to the terms, then it asks for me to sign into my friends Apple ID. She and I have used each other's computers in the past so I assume this is where her information is coming from. The problem is she no longer had that email or Apple ID and has no way of gaining access to it and therefor I am unable to proceed.
I suppose my question is, how can I remove her information from mine so I can setup my new phone using iCloud. Also, I have already checked my Apple ID online and nowhere on my account is her information listed.

I have icloud on my phone with an apple id that I no longer use. I keep getting asked to enter the password for this ID. However I can't remember the password.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID, verify the changes, enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone".
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, verify it once again, delete the iCloud account from your device and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

  • My iCloud is defaulting to an old Hotmail address that I no longer use, my apple ID is currently functioning fine with a gmail account.  I'm not able to change my iCloud email on my phone or on desktop... Any advice?

My iCloud is defaulting to an old Hotmail address that I no longer use, my apple ID is currently functioning fine with a gmail account.  I'm not able to change my iCloud email on my phone or on desktop... Any advice?

You would have to change your Apple ID back to your old hotmail address (https://appleid.apple.com ) in order to turn off "Find My iPhone" and change the iCloud ID. After you changed it back and verified your old hotmail address you should be able turn off "Find My iPhone" and to temporarily delete your iCloud account from your devices. After that you can change your Apple ID back to your gmail address again. After it is verfied, you could add back your iCloud account by using your gmail address.

  • HT5622 How do you get rid of an old Apple ID that hasn't been used in a while in which you no longer remember the password and the email account no longer exists?

How do you get rid of an old Apple ID that hasn't been used in a while in which you no longer remember the password and the email account it's tied to no longer exists?

The password will not be sent to you, because Apple does not know it. They will send a link where you can reset the password. It will be sent to your Rescue email address, not the iCloud email address. If you don't have one contact Apple Account Security and they can reset it for you: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699

Click here and try resetting that account’s password.
That Apple ID is stored inside each of those applications. If you can’t get back into it, you’ll need to delete and redownload all of them, which may require repurchasing paid ones.

  • Apparently I have MULTIPLE Apple ID's, many linked to very old computers/emails that I no longer use and I have no clue what they are nor what the passwords could possibly be. I just want to be able to listen to music THAT I OWN!

I am trying to play music on my iTunes that I had burned from either CD's that I had bought & own (in order to preserve the CD from damage and it is all only for my personal use) or purchased through iTunes. Much, but not all of this was done on an old computer, and on old e-mails that no longer exist, and for that matter I have no clue what the passwords could possibly be! The computer that I use now is at least 10 years old, so how am I supposed to remember passwords from that long ago? I am constantly being told to reset my password, but that apparently just seems to compound the issue. One account will not even accept my birthday and my security question which I know with 100% certainty are correct. I JUST WANT ACCESS TO MUSIC I OWN OR HAVE PURCHASED over the past 20+ years, and I don't care what computer I did it on or what e-mail address I used, and forget about trying to recall my password! Apple makes it so difficult to do passwords it's ridiculous! I would need a book to write down every password that I have tried, and apparently not succeeded in using! add to my frustration is that my son put literally TONS of his music onto my computer and used his various Apple ID's and passwords, and it's just a bumble cluck of a mess. AGAIN, I only want access to MY MUSIC!

You're supposed to remember them or make note of them because they are key to a resource in which you have invested financially, just like keeping records for bank accounts you have or keys to your car.  It is just that people haven't woken up to the importance of having a digital legacy too.

If you're talking about an old iCloud ID, you have to delete the old account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • Can I delete an old apple ID that I no longer want to use?

I had an apple ID to go with my itunes on my Dell computer. I recently got a macbook air and made a new apple ID with a new e-mail that is my primary. I want to use my primary instead of my old e-mail but it won't let me because I verified it already. Am I able to delete the new one and then able to add it to my old account so I can access my itunes with my new e-mail or even old e-mail if I really wanted to?

Let me turn the question around. Do you really need the new AppleID? Do you have purchased content with the old one?
If you haven't done anything with the new ID, it might be better to retain your old one, and move your "rescue" email address to that ID, rather than start a whole new one.
Note that Apple does not allow you to move purchased content from one ID to another, nor to merge IDs.

  • How can I delete an old Apple ID that I don't need/use?

I have an old Apple ID that I'm not using or need. How do I delete it?

You don't. As far as anyone knows Apple IDs are immortal and cannot be deleted, erased, terminated, expunged, canceled, destroyed, eradicated, eliminated, annihilated, annulled, or revoked. They can only be forgotten. So forget about it.
