ITunes keeps trying to close, even when I am trying to update iphone

In the past few months, before the iOS7 update, my itunes began to randomly shutdown everytime I opened it.  It could last for 5sec, it could last for 30secs.  Ultimately it would close down.  Not crash, but make it self shutdown.  I am running Maverick, but it was happening with Mountain Lion.  I have an iPhone 4, and Generation 1 ipad.
When I try to update the iOS on iphone, it will continue to give me a message asking "Are you sure you want to quit?"
If I was not updating.  It would just shutdown.  This it hard to back up.
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the iTunes software 4x in the past few months.
Any Help??

Can anyone help me with this problem???

    Hello Nazer_502,
I would be concerned too if my iPhone was acting this way.  It sounds like it is overheating and not holding a charge. I recommend following the steps listed below when experiencing an issue like this:
    Battery life seems short
Click ( www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html) for tips on how to prolong iPhone's battery life.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
Connect iPhone to iTunes and restore iPhone.
If the screen shows a low-battery image, the battery is low on power and needs to charge for up to ten minutes before you can use it.
When charging iPhone, make sure to leave it charging until it is fully charged. You'll know the battery is fully charged when the battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen looks like this .
Note: When charging using a computer, don't connect iPhone to a keyboard. Also, the computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode. If iPhone is connected to a computer that's not turned on or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPhone battery may drain.

  • Error message "Please contact iTune support to complete this transaction" when I was trying to purchase an app

Error message "Please contact iTune support to complete this transaction" when I was trying to purchase an app????
Help!! Any one experience this issue???
iTune support, "You are violating the iTunes Store Terms and Conditions specifically, however we're unable to speculate. You are not authorized to purchase from the US iTunes Store. From here please continue to review the terms and conditions in detail for further information."
Do you guys even read the "Terms and Conditions" ? There are thousands of words. who know what term I am violating. It works fine before 12/01/2012...I bet they don't even know what caused this problem...They keep asking me to read it without solving the problem...

"Dose that just happen after December 2012??"
No.  It has always been that way.
"So people who live in USA and while travel to other country are not allowed to buy anything? "
    Correct.
"how about people who work oversea for long term?"
They would need an itunes account based in the country in which they live.
"The iTunes Service is available to you only in the United States, its territories, and possessions. You agree not to use or attempt to use the iTunes Service from outside these locations. Apple may use technologies to verify your compliance."
    http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/us/terms.html#SERVICE
It is the same for all countries itunes stores.

I keep getting an "unknown error" when I am trying to install an app. After I have put my correct apple ID in.

First, turn off your CAPS lock.  Typing in all CAPS is considered screaming/yelling and many will simply ignore your posting.
Are you currently having issues?  Is it when trying to purchase only on the device?  Are you able to complete purchases via iTunes on your computer?

    HI,
First, there are no Mac viruses in the wild.
recently random sites have had a warning message thing come up that looks like a Norton Anti-virus telling me to run my browser in 'safe' mode or something.
So far it hasn't really done anything malicious, but I'd like to stop it before it does.
The file is an .exe file and unless you are running a Windows partition on your Mac, the Mac OS X cannot open those files. You're OK! If you are running Windows then you would need anti virus software, but it would be installed on the Windows partition, not the Mac OS X.
Nothing to be worry about. They are trying to get your to purchase anti virus software. Norton a/v for a Mac is the worst thing you could install. It's invasive and impossible to UNinstall.
You are running Snow Leopard... read here.

  • I was on the phone last night and my phone randomly turned off.  It will not come back on even when I have tried to hold the home button and the power button together while being plugged into the computer.  What do I do?

I was on the phone last night and my phone randomly turned off. It will not come back on even when I have tried to hold the home button and the power button at the same time, while being plugged into the computer? What do I do?

Plug it into power for at least 15 minutes.  If it doesn't automatically come on, try a reset... press the home and sleep (on/off) buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

My wife and I both have the iphone and we use my macbook pro with iTunes to sync our ipods. When I do something on my iPhone it shows on hers. How do I set up her a seperate iTunes acct on my mac so she can operate independent of me?

There's info here on setting up separate libraries and user accounts. You won't have to reload (or re-import) all the music, just copy it.
The reason I suggest separate accounts on the Mac is because if you have the two libraries under the same user account, iTunes will also open the last library that was open in that account, and you'll always have to be mindful of which library that is. If you open iTunes and find it's not your library, you'll have quit, relaunch holding the option key and select the other library.
No, you won't have to log in and out of the Mac. (If I'm understanding your question here.) Multiple accounts can be logged in at the same time. And with fast user switching, you can toggle between user accounts.
I'll admit that maintaining the two libraries gets a little tricky, because if you share all the same music, you'll have to add it to one and update the other. (That won't happen automatically.) But I think Home Sharing makes this much easier to do.
    Hope that helps!

  • I keep getting error code 4450 when I'm trying to burn a CD from itunes.  It keeps my CD and won't eject it and says "cancelling burn" forever then itunes locks up and my cd is ruined and NO songs on it.

i can't burn cd's in iTunes anymore. I get error code 4450 when I'm trying to burn a playlist. Songs from my own cd's, or bought in iTunes (have not burned 7x's as I can't BURN any cd's at all!),  Then my cd gets stuck in the drive. and it says "cancelling burn" forever and then itunes freezes up. I have a Dell with Windows 7.
-I've slowed down the burn as slow as it can go
-I have bought 3 different brands of cd's
-i have the latest version of iTunes.
    Can someone help me?

I have Windows 7 on a Dell.  Open and play iTunes in the compatability mode and use Windows XP (service pack 2).  Disregard any messsages to disable the compability mode.  This has worked for me.  I have also reinstalled iTunes and played with burn speeds etc.  These ideas did not work.  Compatability mode works.

  • Why does iTunes keep asking for my password when I want to listen to my music on my iPhone?

When I want to listen to music on my iPhone, iTunes keeps asking for my password.  I am not purchasing anything.  It started today.  Why is that?

I've been having the same problem on my iPad and iPhone. I talked to Apple customer service this morning. They had me do the following on both devices in the Settings:
    * Sign out of iTunes & App Store
    * Sign out of FaceTime
    * Sign out of Game Center
    * Delete iCloud account
They also had me restore my iPad due to some glitchy behavior in the Music app.
Things seemed to me fixed for a few hours until I went into the iTunes Store app on my iPad and added a movie to my Wish List. When I went back to the Music app, the dreaded "Sign In to iTunes Store" popup started showing up again on both devices. Suspicious!
So, I cleared out my Wish List in both the iTunes Store and App Store. I've been poking at the Music app on both my iPhone and iPad since then I haven't seen that popup once since then. I'm not going to declare victory yet since it's only been an hour or two, but I thought that this was worth mentioning.

  • IPhoto churns, then says iPhoto quit unexpectedly, even when I've tried restoring it.

IPhoto has crashed.  It churns then says iPhoto has quit unexpectedly even when I tried the command/option open and restore.  When I have searched for it other places, it says, "iPhoto on locked volume. Reopen when you have read/write access or reopen IP with option dey held down to choose another library." Nothing I have tried has worked.

    Couple of things to try:
Restart your mac and try launch iPhoto again.
    If that fails:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a file called ‘iPhoto’Lock.data or similar. Drag it to the Desktop. Make no other changes. Start iPhoto. Does that help?
If not: Where is your iPhoto Library stored? If it's on an External Disk, what format is that?

  • My iPod keeps getting a pop up when I'm trying to text....?

I'm not really sure why it's happening but yeah....
everytime I try to text my friend back on my 'textme' application, even when I just open the app, this pop up appears!
Saying either... 'opening itunes' or 'too many http redirects'
Anyone else having this same problem or know how to stop it?
I've restarted my iPod, closed the app... but that's it, and it didn't help at all. Any suggestions?
It isn't a virus is it? I don't think it is, but **** you never know anymore....
Thanks in advance for the help!

There is no malware of any kind known to be capable of infecting any iOS device, unless it has been jailbroken.
TextMe is an ad-supported app. What you are probably seeing is a failed ad pop-up.
