ITunes keeps trying to download a HD movie I don't want.

My broadband provider (Qwest) has an issue with large files.  I'm not able to download any single file that is larger than 2 GB, I've called them multiple times on this issue and they say yes, it's real and it's a problem.  Any time I try and download something larger than that (an HD movie for example) it resets my connection, iTunes times out, and I have to reset everything (including rebooting my internet connection).
Knowing that I mistakenly purchased a couple of HD movis through the iTunes store.  Now even though I can't actually download them, iTunes attempts to every time I open itunes, update iPhone apps, grab new podcasts, etc.  How do I permanently delete these two downloads from my queue so it never attempts to download them again?
It cannot complete the download, and never will be able to, so I'm stuck with a froen connection everytime I do one of these things with iTunes.  I can't find an option anywhere to delte permanently.

Try downloading movie on your computer (iTune).

  • I have purchased an album on itunes through my iphone and downloaded it to my phone. But itunes keeps trying to download it all again which is slowing my 3G down

I pre-orderd the an album last week, and downloaded it when it became available on Monday morning.
However now itunes keeps trying to download the album again which is slowing my phone down and using too much 3G.
    Can anyone help?

It may be an authentication error.

It may clear up after a while. You can write to Apple but I bet it clears up before you receive a reply.
Contact iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history or,

The posted did what this said:
How to report an issue with Your iTunes Store purchase
    The link includes the statement:
"The iTunes Store's Customer Support team will contact you as soon as possible, typically within 24 hours."

Usually Apple won't respond, instead they will just fix the problem you have suggested if it is a problem that persists in other user's computers. What problem did you report? Did you ask for them to respond?

  • ITunes keeps trying to download rented movie

In the summer of '08 I rented Cloverfield off iTunes on my MacBook (running the latest version of Leopard). Since then iTunes will keep trying to download the movie and once it's finished downloaded it will send me an error message every 20 minutes. It doesn't charge me for the movie but the continuous error messages are getting annoying. How do I stop iTunes from doing this?

Have you tried deleting the iTunes Music\Download folder?

  • ITunes keeps trying to download a second copy of movie

    Hi,
I bought the Dark Knight trilogy the other day and downloaded all three movies no problem.  Today, it started to download a second copy of Batman Begins.  I stopped it and deleted it.  A few hours later, it did it again.  Anyone know what the issue is here?
    Regards, Patrick

I have the same issue, with this and other WB movies.  Either Apple or WB have some issues to sort out.  If you go to WB site they will "mail it to you within 2 weeks".  I'll see how that goes.

  • ITunes keeps trying to download nonexistent file from Store, reports as "Corrupted"

iTunes Match mis-matched one of my songs. It turns out it's from an album no longer carried in the iTunes Store. Through Customer Service, I obtained a credit to re-purchase the song from a different album.
This was months ago. There hasn't been a problem - until now.
Out of nowhere, iTunes started attempting to re-download the original song. The progress bar refills several times, then a pop-up dialog states the file is corrupted, and I should "Check Available Downloads" to try again. The track has even reappeared in my iTunes Library, albeit grayed out and with a "!" next to it.
How do I convince iTunes and the iTunes Store that this is a non-existent track, and to stop trying to download it?

I am having this issue as well, same error number and everything. Only one song too, the songs purchased before and after it download correctly. You have to press the report problem link specifically next to the song after pressing the initial report problem on your purchase history page.
Not that Apple Support has done much for me yet, they claimed it was my ISP or something which is pure fabrication.

  • Why does itunes keep trying to download a video that i already downloaded everytime I buy something?

I have an episode of the Torchwood series downloaded, but haven't watched it yet.  Lately, everytime I buy a song off of the iTunes store, when it starts downloading the song, it starts downloading the Torchwood video again.  How can I stop it from trying to download the video?

This still doesn't work for me because the next time I sync it trys to reinstall them again.
Then you're doing something wrong, perhaps you need step-by-step instructions.
    Re-read my post carefully. Follow the instructions, carefully - that is;
To leave the App on your phone
Connect your iPhone to your iTunes Library
Look on the Device/Apps pane (tab). In other words, in the left hand window of your iTunes, you will see Devices listed once you plug in your iPhone and under that list of devices will be your phone. Select that device (your phone).
On the Device panes, look at the top menu bar for the Apps. Select Apps.
On the Apps pane, you will see the tick-box Sync Apps and below it is a list of Apps in your iTunes Library. To the right is your iPhone and the Apps on the iPhone.
In the left section - the list of Apps in your iTunes Library - untick the App you wish to remove
Press the Sync button for these changes to take effect.
That's it. At the next Sync, that App will not be put back on your iPhone, because it still isn't ticked "on" in your iTunes Library.

  • HT1414 I want to restore the iPad to factory settings. The IOS software on the iPad is up to date and I have limited space on my PC C Drive. Why does iTunes keep trying to download the iPad software again when it is already up to date?

The restore won't complete because there isn't enough space on the C Drive. I have placed a copy of the software update on the D drive, but don't know how to redirect iTunes to that folder to extract the software. I can't extend my C Drive

Assuming you have a iPad 1, I wqould do a manual update using these instructions:

  • I am trying to download a digital movie and I am being told that iTunes is not available now.

I am trying to download a Disney digital copy of a movie, but I keep getting the message that iTunes is not available now.  Try back later.  I have the latest version of iTune (11.0.1).  Does anyone know what the problem could be.  I received an "error 5002" earlier when trying to download the same movie.

  • HT1725 I downloaded an album from itunes and only half of the songs have downloaded. The rest of the songs keep trying to download and then come up with an error saying they cannot download at this time. I'm not sure what the issue is.

I downloaded an album from itunes and only half of the songs have downloaded. The rest keep trying to download, but I keep getting a message that says, "Song cannot be downloaded at this time. Do you want to retry or be done." Each time I retry, the same thing happens. They will not download. I have restarted my phone and the same problem remains.

Other people have been having similar problems with songs over a number of days.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting it from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

  • When I open iTunes it keeps trying to download a previously downloaded purchase.

When I open iTunes with my iPhone attached to the computer, my computer keeps trying to download "Downton Abbey" Episode 3 Season 1, which locks up the computer for hourws. I have already downloaded this season, including this episode, syched it to the phone and wtched it . So I know this has already been downloaded once. I can not use the iTunes site nor synch my phone to the computer. How do I get out of this jam?

I understand that Episode 3 of "Downton Abbey, Season 1" is stuck in your iTunes account downloads queue. Unfortunately, it is not possible to delete files from your iTunes Store account's download queue as a customer. This feature is an iTunes failsafe in place to protect against the accidental deletion of files prior to download completion. iTunes Store Customer Support will have to assist you with this. You can contact them via:

  • Can someone please help me!! I keep trying to download itunes but get a message that and error has happened 2/3 and check window activity. Then it shows A sever with the specified host name could not-- and then it cuts off the rest of the message.

I keep trying to download itunes in Safari but get a message that and error has happened 2/3 and check window> activity. Then it shows A sever with the specified host name could not…… and then it cuts off the rest of the message. I have reset Safari and still nothing!!!
    Very frustrated!!!

It's downloading with Firefox 3.6.27 as I write.  It's probably more a Safari problem in your case for which people on the Safari forum could provide suggestions.  Or mybe just try again in a while as I suspect everybody is downloading right now.

  • Getting a 8012 error while trying to download a purchased movie-ideas?

Trying to download for family movie night, and am getting 8012 error.  Restarts have not made a difference...any ideas out there?

Found this post (still seems weird we are all having this error at the same time):
“We could not complete your Music Store request. An unknown error ocurred (5002). There was an error in the Music Store. Please try again later.”
I emailed iTMS support about it and received the following reply:
    Dear Richard,
Thank you for contacting the iTunes Music Store.
I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this Error 5002 issue may have caused. Please note that it was necessary to clear the contents of your shopping cart to resolve the issue you have been experiencing.
It seems like one of the songs you are trying to purchase is in the middle of being modified and is unable to be purchased at this time. So this is preventing you from checking out and giving you this error code. What we recommend you doing on this particular order would be to add one
or two items time, checking the cart after each item. When the cart shows that error “5002” we have found our song that is being modified. When you find this song we would appreciate it if you would report back to us which song is giving you this error. From there we can take appropriate actions to getting this fixed.
Thank you for being an iTunes Music Store customer. We appreciate your business.
I don’t recall what was in my shopping cart, so I won’t be much help to iTMS. But maybe it’ll be help to you.
