Itunes keeps turning on 'sync music' to iphone

Everytime I plug my iPhone in to my computer, iTunes will by itself toggle on 'sync music'. When I untoggle it and go back and hand add songs to the phone, it starts a sync process again and low and behold the sync music button is toggled on again! And the songs that I've just added by hand are removed from the phone again.
I recently used the sync to be able to delate some songs that had auto-download to my phone when I upgraded it to iOS7. These songs weren't appearing on the list of music when I hooked my iphone up and I wasn't able to delete them striaght from the phone either. I turned the sync off as soon as I got the songs deleted so I could go back in and add only the small number of songs I wanted to be on my phone.
I'm really at wits end at this point. I'd stop plugging the phone into my computer if I could, but its my only means of charging at the moment. Anyone else have this problem?

Hey everyone, I have also been having this problem and have finally found a solution that is not quite what anyone else has posted yet.
I actually haven't seen the "Syncing Music to iphone" since the new ios update so im quite happy..
Here are the steps that I took to solve:
1. Turned off auto lock and password on iphone
2. After connecting iphone on the summary page the only three boxes I have checked are Automatically sync when iphone is connected, sync only checked songs and videos, manually manage music and videos
3. Now, click the On this iPhone tab. In the bottom right there are "setting" and "Autofill". Under "Settings" select replace all items when Autofilling. I also arbitrarily selected "reserve 1.12GB for disk use".
5. Then I clicked "Autofill" and selected Replace Songs.
6. Lastly I pressed "Sync" while I was still on the "On This iPhone" page.
7. I was actually about to leave the computer and then I saw something magical..."Syncing Music".....Holy Sh...!!!
Notes:On the iPhone: WiFi, Bluetooth, Cellular, personal Hotspot and VPN are all disabled. I use PC. I have about 5000 songs. I do not use Match.
Before today I was also having a disc space issue with a large block of "other". I deleted the music data from my iphone and that fixed that problem, however, the phone was still not syncing the majority (4800 of 5000) songs.
I do not pay for icloud storage, I have never restored my iphone
*I also do not have the "Sync Music" box checked under the Music tab, however, simply doing this did not solve the problem

  • ITunes 9.2 not syncing music with iPhone 3GS?

I'm suddenly having trouble syncing music to my iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.0.1.
I have iTunes set up so that it will only sync selected playlists, artists, and genres. When I make any changes to the selections, iTunes remembers it (even after closing and re-opening) but when I use the sync button, the music or playlists do not transfer. I see iTunes backing up the iphone, transferring purchased items, syncing applications, and then it finishes without transferring anything else.
    Anybody seen this before?

Disable your firewall and then try. Once synching begins, then enable your firewall. Simple.

  • ITunes crashes when I sync music with iphone.

I use OS X Lion, iTunes 10.4 and iphones iOS 4.3.3. I've upgraded both iTunes and Iphone but nothing helps. I can sync everything but music. What's worse; when my iphone is connected it says that my music IS synced, but my Iphone says that there is no music on it. What to do?

Wow, I just deleted my playlist that I had and that fixed the problem..

  • ITunes error -69 when syncing music to iPhone 6+

Windows 8.1, iTunes 12.0.1.26. Factory reset iPhone. Restored iPhone from known good backup. Now trying to get all my music onto the iPhone. iTunes stops in the middle of the sync with this message: "iTunes could not copy [track info] to [iPhone 6+] because an unknown error occurred (-69).
I factory reset iPhone after failure, tried again. iTunes still failed, reporting the same error, but in a different place during the sync.

I stopped using iCloud and started to sync everything to my MacBook Pro. I had also done a restore just to make sure it was being ungunked. Everything works perfectly now. I'm back to using my laptop iTunes for backing up my iPhone 4S

  • Itunes 11.1.3 syncing music with iPhone 5 iOS 7.0.4 help!!!

The edited music I have in my iTunes library will not sync or transfer to the music on my phone. Such as editing "Artist, Artist Album, Title, etc." and this is very frustrating and annoying. Does anyone have any solutions? I've restored and took off my music twice and no changes from my library to phone have been made. Using Windows PC.

  • My ITunes keeps cancelling my sync to my IPhone 5s and I have tried everything!

I recently got a new IPhone 5s for christmas and before that I was using an IPod touch 5th generation. Obviously I wanted to get all my old data from my IPod to my new IPhone and the only problem it seems I have now is that when I try and sync my music from my ITunes to my IPhone it always cancels the sync. the music left on my iphone has a red circle with a dot which means it's downloading but it's not and ITunes says all my music is already on my iphone but clearly not.  I recently updated my ITunes to 11.1.3 and I have an IOS 7.0.4 version on my IPhone. I've read that this problem is happening a lot and mainly due to the new IOS/ITunes updates? I have literally tried everything from rebooting my entire IPhone, backing it up via Mac AND ICloud, deleting and re-syncing all my songs and nothings working. I feel so lost with out my music please help!!

The same thing is happening to me now and it's just been since the  update before last, it seems. And the strange thing is that it's only doing it to songs that are demo-versions (I'm a musician) that have no metadata or ISRC codes or anything. Songs in this format have been transferred in the past without any problems, but that's changed; they show up as ghost songs on my iPad mini (which is fully updated) and any playlist that has one of those ghost songs in it will not play, even if the rest of the songs are fine.
I think Apple needs to address this fast because I'm sure I'm not the only one receiving non-commercial Mp3s or .wav files and needs to use them in various forms on our devices!

  • So I keep trying to sync music to my iPhone from iTunes, and whenever I select the album the sync goes by really fast and nothing goes onto my phone. Then when I click "On this iPhone" it shows the songs, but they're grey, and I can't click on them. Help?

Ok, sorry. And yes, I just restored my iPhone as new and tried to put all the songs on there before I even restored with my previous backup, but it still does the same thing... even when I just checked the option to sync only "selected music or videos". How's that possible?
P.S. After I tried syncing with checked songs only, nothing showed up under Music on my phone and this message popped up in iTunes: "The iPhone "..." could not be synced because the sync session failed to finish." If you could, please tell me what that means, thanks.

  • ITunes wont sync music to iphone

Itunes newest version wont sync music or videos to my iphone 4.   it syncs apps but not music  this is weird.  anybody else have this issue after upgrading to 4.3.5?

Wow!  Apple really doesn't give a flip, do they?  I wish I'd kept procrastinating about installing iTunes on my newer pc.  My old pc was out of room to sync again, so I'd put it off for months.  But, since I'd purchased quite a bit of music, I really wanted it backed up.  Finally got it to install, "synced" my phone, only to lose about half of my music.  At first, it was only the cd's I'd added.  So, I went back to my old pc to use the tried and true, and after updating iTunes, and syncing my phone on it, I lost even more songs - songs that I purchased on iTunes.  So, now Apple has virtually "stolen" my music.  They are committing theft.  If I can't get the songs off of my pc and onto my phone, then the songs are of no use to me.  I don't carry my pc around to play music.  Naturally, it failed to sync my most played songs.
This is ridiculous!  I didn't even run out and buy the iPhone 5 the minute it came out.  I waited, I thought, for the bugs to be fixed.
I went from over 2100 songs down to 362 songs on my phone.  Songs I purchased just a few months ago won't sync.
Samsung isn't outselling IPhones just because they have "new" stuff, they are outselling them because IPhones are a jip.  Unless this is fixed super soon, I'll never purchase another one.

  • Itunes wont sync music to iphone 5c

itunes wont sync music to iphone 5c, skips music portion of sync and gets stuck on "waiting for changes to be applied"
also wont remove cloud downloaded previously purchased songs during sync, i have restored the phone from my old one that was destroyed, but other than that sync pretty much doesnt work at all for photos or anything else.
plenty of available space on brand new phone
    IOS 7.0.4
    itunes 11.1.3.8

After days of getting frustrated I finally found a solution: Don't use itunes to sync music. After going through pages of possible solutions (restores, syncing albums one at a time, removing all music, deactivating accounts, making a call while syncing and various other things) as well as trying to contact apple support (Which was a joke--They wanted to charge me $19.00 to get help for a problem with their software), I change my Google search terms to "how to sync music without itunes" and  I found a program called CopyTrans Manager for free. It only took me a few minutes to add the new tracks to my iphone. It automatically organizes it the same way itunes would and you have the option to make your own playlists. Best of all it synced the first try! Itunes is now dead to me. Now I just have to figure out what I'm going to do with all the free time I have since I'm not going to be spending hours banging my head at my computer ready to throw my phone out the window.

  • Itunes does not allow me to sync music with iphone?

Itunes does not allow me to sync music with iphone?

Have a similar issue.  Have iphone 4 running ios7.  itunes 11.1.3.8.  Probably is intermittent (once every 2 weeks?) and persistent.   Syncs fine for days.  Then all at once playlists are not updated.   For example; over the holidays I added some holiday songs to a playlist.  Today I removed the holiday songs from the playlist in itunes.  Sync the phone.  All messages indicate sync is successful.  Songs still in playlist on the phone!  Continues to happen over multiple syncs.  In the past I have had some songs update but not all songs.  This cycle of attempting syncing continues until other songs on the iphone 'disappear' (they are listed in playlists but don't play!).   Don't know the cause but it is very annoying and unpredictable.   Eventually taking all music off the iphone and then adding it back works but even this take multiple iterations.   These issues seem to have started after upgrading to ios7.  I have workarounds that are very timeconsuming.  I'm interested in solutions to the root cause.  Can anyone help?

  • How can I delete apps in iTunes and have that sync to my iPhone and iPad?

How can I delete apps in iTunes and have that sync to my iPhone and iPad? I don't want to delete 3 separate times for each item. I just carefully chose 30-35 apps to get rid of via iTunes, hoping it would sync to my devices, only to find I have to repeat the process on my iPad, take notes, then repeat it on my iPhone. It wasn't always so tedious was it?
Here's the "Help" I got from Apple. They even quoted my question back to me then proceeded to answer with something very different and completely missing the point.
I understand that you would like to delete the Apps. I know how eager you are to get the required information and I will be happy to assist you.
You can remove individual songs, audiobooks, and videos from your iPod, iPhone, or iPad. Removing an item from your device doesn't delete it from your iTunes library.
To remove items from a device other than an iPod shuffle, first make sure that iTunes is set up to manually manage items.
    1. Connect your iPod, iPhone, or iPad to your computer.
    2. When the iPod, iPhone, or iPad icon appears in iTunes, select it.
    3. Unless your device is an iPod shuffle, click the Summary tab and make sure "Manually manage music and videos" or "Manually manage music" is selected.
    4. If the disclosure triangle to the left of your iPod, iPhone, or iPad (below Devices) is closed, click the triangle so that you can see the device's contents.
    5. Select the item you want to delete and press the Delete key.
This was not helpful in any way and I am still unable to delete apps on my devices in a global, iTunes based way. Each device still requires its own independent process.

Match was off.  I made all of the changes and then went through the "Turn on iTunes Match" option.  I now have deleted some tracks, edited the Metadata in CDDA, and then added it back.  This worked fine, but it is not a good solution.
I just tried making some edits and use the "Update iTunes Match" and that seemed to work.  It looks like the real answer is that Match must be up and operational, then you can make changes and run the Update to incorporate the changes.  However, if Match has a problem then Signing Out and back in to your store account and going through the process of Turning On Match (were you get the questions, "Add this Computer to Match" will overwrite any changes.
Since this relies on the stability of iTunes, I won't be making a lot of changes between updates.

  • ITunes keeps turning on on its own??

Why does the latest iTunes keeps turning on on its own?? I'm not plugging in any devices or anything else. I close it and after a few minutes it pops up again. (Already re-installed, problem still there on two separate PC's)

You should know that P2P clients, like LimeWire or Acquisition, will open iTunes right after they finish downloading a song. They do that to import the song to your iTunes Library, and add it to the playlist LimeWire music or Acquisition or whatever the name of the program.
So, if you leave a P2P program downloading music, it will open iTunes immediately after it fully downloads an audio track.

  • Unable to sync music with iphone 5. can some one pl assist ?

First of all, read my post to OP
You can only sync music via computer iTunes.
Watch this iPod video, it's the same for iPhone.
    Your Post
Not true. You CAN sync music via Wifi.
Did I mention anything about cable? So what is not true?

    What about that?
To do that you also first have to connect using a cable to set it up in computer iTunes.

  • How to sync music from iPhone to my iPad

How to sync music from iPhone to iPad which is not purchased from iTunes

Import it to your iTunes library and sync it to your iPad with iTunes.  To do this with iCloud you will need to import it to your iTunes library, then subscribe to iTunes Match.
