Itunes keeps unexpectedly crashing. please help

Whenever I open itunes, it will open for about 10 seconds and then close. I get no error, or anything. It just shuts down by itself. I tried a system restore to a point when itunes was working properly, but that didn't work either. Any ideas?

Don't purchase from iTunes if you think it is unfair. There are many other places to purchase music.

All Web Browsers Unexpectedly Crash - Please Help

I just got my machine back from the service place where they installed a new hard drive and transfered the contents from the old hard drive.
Here's the problem. Both Firefox and Safari browsers unexpectedly quit on me shortly after starting. I've tried a few sites, and so far, the Apple site is the only one that hasn't quit on me. This even includes web-based software updates. It will begin the update and then just quit with no warning or explanation.
Can anybody please give me some advice on this? I'm sort of dead in the water. Thanks.

i think i might have a solution... i have windows vista and after i installed to latest itunes update everytime i tried to open it it would freeze. I tried everything, including uninstalling itunes and all of its components and reinstalled it numerous times. So i went to the itunes folder in my folders, not on itunes, and i deleted my itunes library and playlists. After that it worked just fine, all of my music was deleted but luckily i had my files saved elsewhere.

Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.

ITunes keeps unexpectedly quitting. Can't pinpoint issue.

I can't find any definitive answers on here as there seem to be many causes for these crashes and nothing too recent.
Either way, iTunes keeps 'unexpectedly quitting' everytime I start iTunes. The problem seemed to start after I synched with my Apple TV, though I can't be sure they're correlated. I've tried turning off home sharing. I've reinstalled iTunes. Software up-to-date. I've gone through this forum and can't find anything to help.

Also, the crash is preceeded by an 'Allow incoming connections' prompt and another about Changing Firewall preferences.

i just got my iPod Vid and my iTunes keeps on crashing when ever i try to watch my videos.
another problem...
when i connect my ipod and try to update it, it gives me a error message, "Attempting to copy to the disk "my ipod" failed. An unkown error occurred (-69).".
i think its because of this error too that i do not see any of my videos or pictures uploaded into my ipod.

Itunes keeps on crashing / won't uninstall even with appcleaner

Help guys, please.
I have been working on this for 2 whole days now and it is very very frustrating.
My itunes keeps on crashing every time i open it.
Ive tried using disc utility, re-installing the OS, using appcleaner but none of them work.

After installing Leopard, iTunes keeps unexpectedly quitting? I've tried recreating the iTunes library with no help.

i had the same problem. finally i found out what was going wrong. it was the digi core audio extension that messed up my itunes. so if you are using pro-tools you should have a look into this possibility.
if not you might want to try and remove any non-apple audio extension and see what happens. don't trash them as you might be able to pin point the problem to only one extension.

These are all steps that have worked for some other users in the past. They may not work for you, but they are worth a try.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.

That definitely sounds frustrating. From the information you provided, it sounds like this is happening on your iOS device. Let's see if we can troubleshoot this.
First, try signing out of your account in Settings > iTunes & App Store. Once signed out, force close the iTunes Store application and restart your device. After you have restarted, go ahead and sign back in.

Are you sure you have a 4g/3g iPod? If you don't have a camera, it's definitely not 4G. If it has no camera and is 8 or 16 Gb it is a 2G and can't go beyond 4.2.1.

1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.
above works for purchases from the iTunes store. for everything else, check out this post by Zevoneer.
