Itunes killed the internet... HELP!

Hi,
I just updated my Itunes, and when I did all sorts of crazy stuff happened. First of all, it told me I couldn't do it because it shared files with AIM. So I closed that out and updated. When I restarted, I can no longer connect to the internet and a meesage says that Itunes has an error and won't open when I click on it, but it still opens and works perfectly fine. I tried to uninstall it, but when I click uninstall under My Computer-> Add/remove programs, the uninstall wizard starts to load but then closes out without giving any message or reason. I tried to reinstall over it as well with the original disk, and I get similar results.
Does anyone have any idea what happened to my computer or am I going to have to bring it in to get fixed? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try a QuickTime standalone install.

Make sure you save it to your hard drive - don't run the install over the internet.

  • "itunes could not contact the ipod software update server because you are not connected to the internet" Help?

Hello all, new to the forums.
I've been recieving the error message "itunes could not contact the ipod software update server because you are not connected to the internet". This problem didn't occur at all for the past 2 years of using itunes.
I've already scanned through numerous websites and forums for help, but none of them worked.
This  set of instructions resulted in no change to any of the problems, though iTunes lists that as the supposed solution.
    # Open Internet Options from control panel.
    # Click the Connections tab.
    # Click the LAN Settings button.
    # Select the Automatically detect settings checkbox.
Others include installing IE7, which that didn't work either.
    Can anyone help?

  • Can not connect itunes to the internet!

I have a LAN connection, I have allowed itunes through the firewall, I ran the network connectivity test and it said network connection timed out and it never successfully connected to the internet. I'm not very good with computers, and could really use some help!
    Thanks!

    Try this:
    Head to your Start Menu
Then click Control Panel located in the right hand menu part.
Then look for Network & Internet and click on that.
Then you want to click on Internet settings
Next, head over to the "Connections" tab
From there, click LAN Settings at the bottom.
Make sure, try putting a check mark next to the "Automatically detect settings" or remove it and hit Apply and then try reconnecting to the store.
If that doesn't help, try flushing the DNS. Instructions on how to do this can be found in the Apple document below. Hope this helps.

  • App Store does not load & kills the internet connection

    Hello I'm currently using MBP 13' 2011 v. 10.7.2.
App Store window pops up after opening, but nothing actually shows up. It shows as if it is trying to load the App Store with the spinning indicator, but the app remains empty. Not only it does not load, it also kills whatever internet connection I've attempted on Safari. YouTube videos stop loading once App Store opens, for example.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

  • My macbook pro will not connect to the internet, help pleaaaase?

I have literally been to countless forums and nothing has worked. I restarted the router for the internet, but every other computer in my house is connecting to the internet just fine. I don't know what to do, and this is incredibly frustrating. Can anybody help me?

When you see an exclamation point in the Wi-Fi menu, from the menu bar, select
     ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network
Click the Assist me button and select Assistant. Follow the prompts. You may get a warning that Wi-Fi is not available, that you're too far from the base station, or that you're using the wrong password.
Assuming that you've ruled out those possibilities, click the lock icon in the lower left corner of the preference pane and authenticate, if necessary. From the Location menu at the top of the window, select Edit Locations. A sheet will drop down. Click the plus-sign button to create a new location. Give it any name you want. In the new location, set up the Wi-Fi service with the same settings you used before. Click Apply and test.

  • TS3297 Having trouble connecting iTunes to the internet

After two days of troubleshooting and following every relevant article in the iTunes support forum, I still cannot get the newest version of iTunes to connect to the internet.  All other internet-abled devices on my network can connect so it's not the network, just iTunes on this machine.  Have run diagnostic test after diagnostic test, reset firewall permsisions and flushed the DNS.  I am so frustrated!  Any guidance would be welcome.

My guess is that there is a firewall configured in the router.  When that happens, the results are weird.  Laptops ar not affected but iPads are.  You need administrative access to the router.  Look for presence of a firewall.  If one is there, turn it off and test.  If that cures the problem, turn the firewall back on but weaken it a notch and test again.  You want the firewall to be as strong as possible without blocking iPad web access.

  • My Cisco E1000 wont connect to the internet HELP

I recently bought a new router but I'm having issues with it. We have 2 Laptops in our house and 1 (windows 7) can connect to the router and get internet access but the other (windows vista) can't it says that the Cisco router is not connected to the internet but it is. I've tried everything, resetting, reprogramming, etc. I recently found that the windows 7 one had the software installed and the windows vista didn't. What I need is to get that software but I need to know which version to get. How do I know which version of the software goes with my computer?
    Thx

You informed that you have two laptops... Are they running on wireless connection? Then in that case you need not have to install the Cisco Connect Software separately in that Vista Laptop...
Just you need to follow these steps..
    # First, go to "Start Menu" -> "Control Panel" -> "Network and Internet".
    # Now... go to "Network and Sharing Center" and select "Connect to a network"...
    # Choose "Show All" and hit the refresh button. If you find active network connections, select the one you want, click on “Connect" and don't forget to check the option that says "Start this connection automatically". If you check this option, Windows Vista will connect automatically to the selected network every time you log in...
    # It will ask for the password for the wireless network if is secured and then connect...
Hope this will help you in connecting the wireless network...

  • Cannot connect to the Internet, help?

All of a sudden my connectivity to the Internet has dropped, when I try to connect to any source (ie. WiFi, ethernet, or Bluetooth via my phone) I get the same message:
Wi-Fi has the self-assigned IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and will not be able to connect to the Internet.
In addition, when I turn off and on my Wi-Fi it searches forms signal and then goes to an exclamation logo on the signal indicator.
I have tried erasing all my network options, manually inputting my connectivity details, restarting my router (which works on every other device I own) and I have reinstalled Yosemite.
    Help?

When you see an exclamation point in the Wi-Fi menu, first turn Wi-Fi off and back on. Disconnect all USB devices except keyboard and mouse, if applicable. If it still fails to connect, then from the menu bar, select
               ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network
Click the Assist me button and select Assistant. Follow the prompts. You may get a warning that Wi-Fi is not available, that you're too far from the base station, or that you're using the wrong password.
Assuming that you've ruled out those possibilities, restart the computer and try again. If there's no change, click the lock icon in the lower left corner of the preference pane and authenticate, if necessary. From the Location menu at the top of the window, select Edit Locations. A sheet will drop down. Click the plus-sign button to create a new location. Give it any name you want. In the new location, set up the Wi-Fi service with the same settings you used before. Click Apply and test.
If there's still no connection, and if you have control of the router, compare its settings to Apple's recommendations. Some third-party routers may be incompatible in 802.11b/g/n radio mode. Try setting the mode to 802.11n only.
