ITunes kills my Audigy2 (after uninstall)

I bought a copy of Quicktime 7, but was forced to install iTunes to get it. I don't want to discuss the pros/cons of iTunes. I hate it and uninstalled it after getting QT7 installed. However, ever since then, my Audigy 2 has lost sound 3 times, forcing me to uninstall the drivers, reboot and reinstall the drivers to get sound back. Needless to say, this has left me quite perturbed. I'd like to know what iTunes may have changed in my system to cause this problem. I have installed no other software within a week before this problem and have had no issues with my Audigy 2 until now leaving the trail pointing directly at iTunes. I am a tech by trade, so don't feel you need to baby-step me. That will only waste your time and mine. Note that while I selected XP Pro as my OS, it's actually XP x64 edition (there was no option for that in the list).
custom-built   Windows XP Pro   x64 edition

As an update to my original post, it seems when I play flash animations (well, one in particular for certain, not sure about in general), it kills my sound. This still traces back to iTunes however, as I use it constantly as my alarm and it worked fine for over a year prior. So it would seem that somehow iTunes has affected Macromedia Flash on my computer. I've already tried reinstalling Flash over itself. Next step is completely removing flash and reinstalling from scratch. Still, I would appreciate if someone in support could look into this and try to determine what iTunes might have changed to break Flash.

  • ITunes won't open after uninstalling FCP 7

I had to reinstall FCP 7 so i used the "uninstall FCS" application that came with it. After doing so i went to check my itunes while it re-installed. I suddenly got a " you are not authorized on this computer" message. And only had an OK as a response. This only came up once and it still confuses me. then itunes crashed and i got the re-open dialogue box. "no biggie" i'll just re-open. then the same message popped up. And now for 24 hours i have had no access to itunes.
at this point it starts to "checking your library" and then after about 3 seconds it stops and crashes. i have tried every fix i've found. But here's the Crash report. please help i think it's a problem with core.

  • Itunes will not open after uninstall and re-download, I only get a message itunes match accessing itunes store which goes on for a long time

I could not open I-tunes.  I had used it a week before but it was spotty and then eventually it would not open at all.   I uninstalled it then downloaded it.  I restarted the computer.  When I tried to open itunes, I got a message "ITunes match. Accessing iTunes store" and it does not go beyond that.  I've tried this process twice.  I had my Norton support service do a tuneup and they downloaded iTunes but it will still not work. help!

    Hello SharlaCerr,
The article linked below provides some helpful troubleshooting steps that can help get iTunes running on your computer.

  • ITunes still not working after uninstall and install. Help?

iTunes hasn't opened on my computer for a few weeks. Before uninstalling, I went to Control Panel and chose the 'Repair' option which did nothing. I ran a scan to see if there a virus, came up clean. I uninstalled it completely and reinstalled the latest version and it still will not open.  Any ideas? I want to put new music on my iPhone and can't because iTunes refuses to work.

Do you get an error message when you try to launch iTunes? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)

  • "itunes has stopped working" after connecting ipad mini to computer Windows 7

itunes can play 2 out of 10 movies already on my computer. Otherwise, when I start to play the other movies, I get the notice itunes has stopped working etc.
Quicktime Player VERSION 7.7.4 can get to the Apple Store and order a movie.  But when I insert my Ipad mini, itunes IMMEDIATELY "itunes has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I reinstalled lastest itunes 11.1.3  after uninstalling it, and placed it not on the C Drive, which is pretty full but on another drive. I use ImTooiTransferPlatinum to put muisc onto my ipad mini, not itunes.

also when I open itunes in safemode (using shift+ctrl), it works normally...

Error when opening iTunes : iTunes has stopped working '' A problem caused the program to stop working correctly''.
When I repaired damaged files the problem still exists and also after uninstalling, redownloading and reinstalling iTunes.
My pc is working with windos 8.
    Is there a solution?

    Hey there Rodney274,
It sounds like you are getting an error from iTunes when you launch it. I would try the troubleshooting in this article named:
iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1717
Start with troubleshooting for 3rd party plug ins section, then the rest of the article if needed:
    Start iTunes in Safe Mode
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any interference from plug-ins or scripts not manufactured by Apple.
Hold down Shift–Control while opening iTunes. You should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up.
    Click Continue.
See if the issue you're experiencing persists in Safe Mode.
If you have the same issue while iTunes is in Safe Mode, proceed to the "Create a new user account" section. If you don't experience the same issue, follow these steps to remove third-party plug-ins.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,
    Sterling

I am using win vista and have installed itunes for my ipod shuffle four years back. now I have purchased iphone 4, and trying to reinstall itunes after uninstalling my earlier itunes i always get a message that error in installation. kindly help

You might find this article helpful: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
It has the error range of 3000's which states
Errors 3000-3999 (3002, 3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the gs.apple.com server on ports 80 or 443. This may be because out-of-date or incorrectly configured security or firewall software is interfering, an old version of iTunes is installed, an entry in your hosts file redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see error 1004 above), or because of your Internet proxy settings. If you are using a proxy, try without using one or with a known-good network. If that does not resolve the issue, follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues. Error 3014 may indicate that you need to free up more disk space on the computer before trying to restore again. Error 3194 most likely indicates you do not have the latest version of iTunes installed Update to the latest version of iTunes.

  • Tried to upgrade and after uninstalling and reinstalling several times, keep getting "procedure entry point could not be located in dynamic link library" followed by "iTunes was not installed properly"  Error 7.....Help, please??

Tried to upgrade as instructed and after uninstalling and reinstalling (even back to the former iTunes which I was happy with)several times, keep getting message "Procedure entry point could not be located in dynamic link library"  followed by "iTunes was not installed properly"  "Error 7".    Help, please??

Entry point errors can usually be fixed by deleting the offending dll, then repairing the component it is part of from the programs and features control panel. Unfortunately you neglected to include the detail of which dll is mentioned.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • HT1923 After uninstalling and reinstalling itunes according to the instructions for Vista, I do not have QuickTime in my programs.  Am I supposed to install QuickTime separately?  Isnt it supposed to install with Itunes automatically?

After uninstalling and reinstalling itues according to instructions for Vista, QuickTime doesn't appear in my programs, I don't seem to have it anywhere,  Isn't QuickTime supposed to be part of the Itunes installation?  Is the absence of it why no ipod will function correctly for me?

Let's first try something relatively simple. Download and save a 64-bit version of the iTunes installer (iTunes64Setup.exe) to your hard drive. (Don't run the install on line.)
Now try right-clicking the installer file and selecting "Run as administrator".
Does that get you past the privileges errors?

  • I need to reinstall iTunes after uninstalling it on a power book g4 with os 10.4.11

I need to reinstall iTunes 9 after uninstalling it on a power book g4 with os 10.4. The iTunes version 9.2.1 cannot run on my apple, I already tried.

You should update your system to 10.4.11 if you haven't done so (your title says one thing and your signature another)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL170
    - then you will be able to run iTunes 9.2.1 - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1056 - which should definitely run on 10.4.11 G4. It might be a good idea to run that updater anyway. Removing the built-in programs isn't a good idea and can sometimes upset your System. In extremis you may even need to reinstall from your original discs and then run the combo updater.

    Hi there,
I am also experiencing this problem, but with 1.4.2_06. Last week (late Jan 2005) the dynamic versioning was working fine, downloading and installing the latest version of Java as required.
However now (early Feb 2005), I am finding that after downloading the latest version of Java and beginning the install, I am getting this error.
I was hoping that you may have heard of a cause or solution for this problem?
    Many thanks
