Itunes library bigger than ipod

My itunes library has more songs than my ipod will hold. What is the best way for me to choose what actually goes on the ipod?

You can also let iTunes create a special playlist that is a subset of your entire library, but small enough to fit on the iPod. This option comes up if you choose to +Sync music+ and +All songs and playlists+ (on the Music tab of the iPod's pane in the iTunes window).
If there is not enough space, a message will pop up to say that there is not enough free space... +Would you like iTunes to choose a selection of songs to sync to this iPod?+ If you choose YES, an new playlist is created with a subset of songs from your main library that will fit on the iPod, and the iPod syncs to it. This playlist is like any playlist, so you can modify it going forward.

How to manage a itunes library bigger than 4TB? Help!

We are a family big on homesharing and keep all our music/movies/tv shows on one apple id. Plus we are apple tv addicts and subscribe to lots of tv series and purchase a lot of movies. The itunes library is now more than 4 TB and has outgrown the external hard drive it is sitting on. The disk is full.
Any ideas as to how I should proceed? I do know how to transfer the library to an even bigger external hard drive - but I'm reluctant because they are hard to find and very expensive. Plus I'm wondering if there is a better idea. Is there anything else I can do that won't mess up the existing library.

I've seen the terms "Drobo" and "NAS" mentioned here in connection with large libraries. Some issues do arise with them though, and you do have to be somewhat technically capable of setting up that kind of thing.

Aha! I have sorted it.
For those with similar problems, the solution is this:
Macintosh HD > Library > Audio > MIDI Drivers
Then delete DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin

Trying to upload music to my itunes library from my ipod touch.

i have windows 7,when i plug in other devices i can see the things on that device and upload them to my itunes library.but when i plug in the touch it doesnt show up under my computer.its an older version of ipod touch.it shows up in the itunes library,but not under my windows librarys

What do you mean by other devices? To access the files on the iPod from you computer other than from syncing and transferring iTunes purchases from iPod to computer you need a third-party program. Some of those programs are discussed here:

Just sync. You can alway redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

My Laptop had to be reformatted and as a result I lost access to Itunes. I was not able to save any of my backups nor my iTunes library.
I am trying to sync my iPod and iPhone to my NEWLY formatted hard drive and iTunes wants to WIPE my devices.

I thought I just explained this.
The sync is one way - computer to ipod. The exception is itunes purchases: File>Transfer Purchases
You can transfer itunes purchases form your ipod to your computer: Open itunes, connect ipod, click File Transfer Purchases
Did you fail to maintain a backup copy of your computer?
You may be able to purchase a program to get the other music

If I have an iTunes library on my computer, and I have already put that music on my iPod, can I put that same library on a second iPod, without affecting the viability of the library ? Preliminary conditions:
Through settings, you must log the Apple TV in with your iCloud account.
In iTunes, choose Advanced > Turn on Home Sharing from the menu bar.
The Apple TV and your computer must be connect to the same network.

Whereas in the United States, movies and musics are sold in their entirety, there is no such services in Korea ― only app purchases. If your iCloud (or Apple) acount falls into the latter category, and you login to the Apple TV with that account, Apple TV will automatically convert its systems to the similar limitations.

You can't do that.
And before you decide to store any music that you own on a computer at work, talk to your IT department. Many organizations do not permit it for legal reasons. Standard policies are that anything stored on company owned computers is the property of the company. It could not be legally stored on their machines unless you transfer the licenses and all copies, physical and digital, to the company, meaning you no longer own the music. If they were to be audited and could not prove that they own the music, they would be subject to copyright violation penalties. Just use your iPod when you're at the office if you want to listen to music.
