Itunes library gone after update

After update, iphone crashed and itunes defaulted to a restore mode. After restore, no itunes library on the iphone (normal), but the recent sync to my computer library is now empty! I have "previous libraries" on the computer, but none include the most recent purchases. Help?

have you lost only the recent purchases or all your purchased library ?

Hi,I have just updated my itunes account and since turning my laptop back on I have around 300 tracks missing from my library,It is only showing a few in a playlist the rest is blank.

I used to located my music library to my external hardest (seagate backup plus). After I updated new version of iTunes (along with OS X Yosemite), all the music library all gone.

You said you did a backup...
iCloud backup or iTunes backup?
Also, two suggestions for next time:
Software updates can be done right from your device, under Settings > General > Software Update if you have iOS 5 or later. This usually prevents a lot of problems users typically run in to when updating in iTunes.
When updating in iTunes, even though your restore may seem complete, it is still restoring your apps, music, etc. Please be sure that it is absolutely complete before unplugging.

ITunes library reset after updating to 11.0.5. and iPod not syncing

I recently updated my iTunes to version 11.0.5., and after the update all my playcounts, playlists etc. were reseted. All the music's still there, but it's like a just started a new library. I'm very annoyed since I had accurate top lists for the past 4 years and now they're all gone.
Also, my two iPod classics won't sync after the update. iTunes recognizes them and it says "syncing" for a few moments and then completes it, but when I disconnect there's no difference in the iPod. It's the same with both. I tried changing back to iTunes 11.0.4.4. but the problem is still the same.

I had a similar problem, all you can do at present to rectify this is to grab your playlist or new created playlist or song from the main library or playlist and drop it into the ipod tab under devices and it will auto sync the changes or songs. Hope this helps.
There seems to be a problem with the syncing of itunes 11 (mine is 11.0.5) when you just use the normal sync method. the above should work and has worked for me when transfering a playlist straight into the ipod it automatically syncs.

IPhoto Library gone after update to OSX Yosemite 10.10.3

Put another way, how do I get the new "Photos" program associated with the new OSX Yosemite v. 10.10.3 to see my former iPhoto library that is stored on an external hard drive?
Here's the full story:
This morning I updated my MacBook Air to OSX Yosemite v. 10.10.3. The update claimed that it ran successfully. Afterwards, I plugged in my iPhone to sync it to the computer. There were photos on my phone that I'd taken yesterday, so when I plugged the iPhone in to the USB cable, a program launched that I thought was iPhoto (but, as it turns out, is actually a new Apple program called simply "Photos"). I was led through a series of questions, one of which was "do you want to download your photos to iCloud?" I did not want to download my photos to the cloud; first off, I've got like 100GB of photos and second off, even if there were that much space allowed with an iCloud account, I wouldn't have wanted to take the time. After skipping that download-to-the-cloud step, the new "Photos" program downloaded the pictures taken yesterday off of my phone and deleted them from my iPhone as I'd requested. But, when the transfer from phone to computer completed, I was taken to the new Photos program and the only pictures on my account are those that were downloaded this morning from my iPhone.
Because I've got so many photos I keep my iPhoto Library on an external hard drive. I keep two additional external hard drives that back up everything every night. I am not worried about the photos being lost, but I can't figure out how to get the new "Photos" program to go find that library on my external hard drive.

To migrate your existing library to Photos is simple: just open it.
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch Photos. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
You problem is that you will no have two libraries - the converted iPhoto one and the one you created with just these iPhone photos.
So I would export the pics from the new Photos Library to the Finder: (File -> Export-> Export unmodified originals
Trash the Photos library from your Pictures Folder
Convert the iPhoto Library
Then import those photos from the Finder.

ITunes library lost after update 10.4.1

I just updated my home computer (uses Window Vista) with iTunes 10.4.1, and now all 35GB of my music and playlist are not to be found on my computer. I tried "Add a folder to library" but the iTunes folder in my music folde is also devoid of music. HELP!!!!!! Thanks so much.

I reinstalled Lion and itunes, but I couldn't fix this problem.
In my case iphone did not detected by the mac and was impossible to charge.
But, a very weird thing happend.
When I used another cable, it worked!!
So, I thoungt that cable broke down.
And I bought two cables yesterday.
One works very well, but the other does not work.
It's really strange.
I think itunes 10.4.1 has some issue with cable connection. I konw that it's ridiculous supposition.
Anyway, I fixed this problem.

Library gone after update

Upgraded to iTunes 9 and now my library only has one song in it. Followed the directions to restore the music library.xml file with no luck, still only one song.
Now what?

My library is missing too
and I followed someone else's instructions to trash the new Itunes 9 and B/U my libraries
What is that Back up? I wich he'd waste the time on the extra four key strokes.
I can find those libraries and I thought I had them backed up additionally on an external drive
all of the files I find are empty.
Things are looking bleak...

Library Gone After Updating to LR 1.2

I'm just starting with this product. Had images in a version 1.1 Library. Got prompted as to availability of version 1.2 for download and did so. To experiment and learn a bit more, I imported one RAW file from my hard drive. Now it's the only image in the filmstrip at the bottom of the screen. My former Library of images is gone.
A little more info: I don't keep my images in the default Documents and Settings\My Photos (or whatever it is). In my C:\ drive I have created a folder/directory called Photos. All of my image files reside there and in various sub-folders therein.
But, how can I find my old Library, which I understand is essentially a database holding information and settings for the images in the Library, not the actual images themselves? Thanks.

Thanks, but I did that before posting my message and it only came up with the new one I referred to ... with the single image I imported in version 1.2. And it is located in the My Documents and Settings\My Photos. I could've put the Library from 1.1 there though.
I started with version 1.0 (not the Beta version) and I don't think the term "Catalog" was used then. Was there another extension for files containing the Library back in version 1.0?
Or I wonder if somehow I am inadvertently reduced the view down to one image. I don't have any star or color filters invoked.

If you are on Version 11.0.1 rather than 11 Apple put it back in
View > Show Duplicates
Option + View > Show Exact Duplicates
so if you are on 11 upgrade to 11.0.1 and you will have it

I had purchased the movie Bolt! aaages ago and it was always in my library. After updating to iTunes 11.0 (I guess) it's just gone. What happened? And how do I get it back??

Why are you looking in a shared library, is itunes set up as a secondary library.

If you are set up as a primary library you need to look in my tv shows.
When you say you have reinstalled everything, does that include itunes (if so how did you do that), does it include rebuilding your itunes library.

My guess is that the apps were not in the iTunes library on the computer on which you did the update. Apps )and ther items like music)are nt in the backu that iTunes makes as the first step of the backup.

my itunes wont work after update. whats the problem.

also, the curser just goes round and round. cant close by clicking x, have to close frome the place that says close. then message says program not responding.
