ITunes List View of Movies on my iPod

I load movies on and off my iPod Touch all the time using iTunes on my Mac. But it's really a pain in the *** because when I'm viewing my iPod's contents in iTumes and I select the Movies tab, all it will display is an alphabetical list of all the movies with big icons. What I want is just a list, preferably in Date Added order so I can spot the newest movies in my iTunes library.
Am I mssing something? Is there a way to display a list of movies that I can turn on and off for syncing to my iPod Touch?
(I'm running the latest Mac OS X and latest iTunes.)
Thanks for any help.

First off, do you have a Fifth Generation iPod? If you don't have a Fifth Generation iPod, then you won't be able to play videos on your iPod. (That's the only model of iPod that can play videos.)
If you do have a Fifth Generation iPod, but your iPod only has a blank screen when you try to play a video, then let's take a look at your TV Out settings.
From the Main Menu on your iPod, go to "Videos > Video Settings > TV Out". Make sure that this is selected to be either "Off", or "Ask".

  • List view in iCal on my iPod touch is corrupted

The 'list view' seems to be all wonky in Calendar on my iPod touch.
The dates for a given day that's displayed don't make sense:
i.e. Sunday Oct. 27 2030 followed by Saturday July 14 2001 followed by Tuesday Jan. 16 2001 are listed in consecutive order instead of today, tomorrow and next day (with correct dates).
Also, the 'events' given for each day listed don't make sense and are often duplicated.
The 'day' and 'month' views however, seem to be ok and not corrupted. The 'list' field in the month view also seems fine ?
Has anybody experienced this ? Very frustrating, since I like the list view.
I make most of my entries/changes to iCal on our main desktop (iMac 24") then sync. to my iPod. The list view seems ok on the desktop.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
ps. not sure if the problem corresponded with an upgrade of the Ipod software to OS 3.1 from 2.x....

  • No List View for Movies in AppleTV

When syncing movies to ATV it was a lot easier when in List View but that's not available with the latest update - Grid View is is the only option.
Am I right or is there a way round this?

That worked, however, the footer is displaying.  Is there a parameter to pass that removes the footer from the Page Viewer web part?
Not that I'm aware of. However, you may be able to add a content editor web part to the view of the user info list that you made, and in that web part add CSS to hide the footer. The exact class names or element IDs to target could vary
depending on how your pages are set up and themed, but the CSS should look something like this:
    <style>
    #footer{display:none;}
    </style>

  • ITunes library will not move over to iPod!!!

Please help! I am trying to simply move my music from my library to my ipod and it won't work. Every time I try to drag the music over or import or move songs into a folder and then into my ipod, the "No" symbol (ie: NO smoking sign) comes up. Each of these songs in file form has a little lock logo on it, I guess the songs are protected. I'm not sure why my Ipod is not recognizing these songs as mine. I have a ton of purchased music that I cannot get on my ipod. It is so frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

"Some of the songs in the iTunes music library, including the song, "__insert song name(s) here__ were not copied to the iPod because they could not be found."
As stated, this means iTunes cannot find the songs.
Look in iTunes at those songs. They're probably gonna have a yellow exclamtion point in front of them.

  • Apologies to Discussion group - re: movies on an IPod

Naive as it may seem, I had no idea trying to view a DVD movie on an Ipod was a problem. I listen to purchased music....so never thought a movie would be any different.
The moderators have "notified" me regarding the error of my thinking , but I wanted to apologize to the group for my ignorance in bringing up the subject.
    Thanks for your understanding.

In the US, it is illegal to RIP a commercial DVD to your computer because it requires breaking the CSS encryption on the DVD. Breaking the CSS encryption is illegal, according to the DMCA (Digital Millenium Copyright Act).
*The ads clearly show viewing commercial movies on an Ipod and IPhone*And all of them are available thru the iTunes store.

  • Unable to Sync Quicktime Movie Clips with IPOD

I am a new ipod user having difficulty syncing Quicktime movie clips to IPOD.
Clips are saved as .mov files and Itunes will play.
However I cannot get them to sync woth IPOD.
Any ideas - Do I need to convert to annother format?

First you need to import your movies into iTunes. Do this by opening iTunes <File> <Import> <Movies> then choose the movie you want to put on your iPod. Make sure the movie has .mov at the end otherwise it won't be set up the way it's supposed to be.
Once the movie is imported into iTunes right click on it so a pull down menu appears. Click on <Convert Selection for iPod/iPhone>. It should begin converting it on its own and when it's done you'll hear the typical sound that happens after importing a cd, telling you the operation is complete.
After it's converted, you will have 2 identical movies in your menu. If you <Get Info> on each, you should be able to see which is newest version; that is the movie you are going to want to sync.
Then plug your iPod in to iTunes, go to the movie tab in iPod summary and check off the converted movies you want to sync to your iPod. Press <Sync> and that should add your movies to your iPod.
    Hope this helps.

  • How can I remove movies from my iPod nano (7th generation)?

Hi! I just got one of these for Christmas. I put a movie (Nirvana, Live At Reading) in it, but I decided that I don't want it due to the amount of memory it takes up and the poor sound quality. I tried doing two methods that I read from another dicussion which were to go into the "Movies" tab on my iPod in iTunes and deleting thme from the iPod. I read that I'm supposed to uncheck the movies I don't want and click "Sync." I can't do this because all the movies are grayed out. Method two was to actually delete the movies from iTunes completely. I did that, but the movies are still in my iPod. Something to note might be that while the movies ARE NOT being shown as being in my iPod in iTunes, it says the are in the memory bar on the bottom of the page. And according to iTunes, there are five movies in my iPod, they're the six I actually want, but there's an extra three that I did put in, and a copy of one that's already in there. Sorry if this is confusing. I'll post a screenshot. Thank you in advance!
P.S. The only videos in my iPod are labeled "Movies" by both the iPod itself and iTunes.

"Is it possible to delete content without a computer."
Nope! You can only do that with the _videos you have recorded._

  • IPod Nano not showing movie artwork in list view.

h title says it all. If you look at the photo over here, you see the videos icons are not displayed at the bottom of the screen in list view. Normally artworks will scroll from right to left gradually if artworks are present.
These are my own videos (no bought from itunes), and they all have artworks. These artworks shows up in itunes but not in my ipod.
Anyone knows how to get the icon showing in ipod nano?

Connect your iPod to the computer and when the summary comes up click on the restore button and see if that works.

  • List view problem in iTunes 10.  How to move Album/Artist description text.

Starting with iTunes 10, in list view the Artist and Album name info was moved from underneath the Album Art in the "Artwork" column to the right of it. like the 1st screenshot below Is there a way to revert to having that info placed underneath the artwork like the 2nd screenshot below?

No, there is no option to change the the layout. FWIW I prefered the older layout too. We don't all have wide screens. You could drop a line to iTunes Feedback if you want.

  • ITunes lists movies I've deleted

Trying to sync my new iPod Nano (8gig, blue) with iTunes on a Windows machine running XP. After connecting the iPod to the computer, iTunes recognizes iPod, everything syncs fine, except...
Under the Movies tab - I check "Sync movies" and then get to choose 1 of three options 1. All Movies. 2. All/_ unwatched movies. 3. Selected movies(or)playlists with the list of movies(or)playlists. I choose option 3 (Selected Movies) and here is the problem.
iTunes lists a huge list of movie files that I have deleted. Also, it gives me no way to 'browse' my way to other folders and files.
Need help! What is going on here and how do I fix it?! Seems like iTunes is referring back to a past cache file or some kind of preferences files.
    Does anyone understand this? Thanks!!

Hey I had the same problem-
The fix to solve the error was quick and easy:
-Go to My Music tab and click on the song view to show all tracks.
-Then simply organize by the iCloud Download column. (if not shown, right click the column menu)
-The songs without any sort of iCloud icon shown are the ones with the error as you mentioned.
-Select all of those and hit delete. It will then ask to delete off of iCloud but make sure to click NO.
Voila no more annoying error on every SINGLE track over and over. I felt your pain, and now we are free!

  • I have two albums (RCA Sweeny Todd 2 discs set and RCA Into the Woods 1 disc) where the songs are listed as being on the same album on the list view, but do not group together on the iPod, so the songs can't play consecutively, or in the proper order.

I have two albums (RCA Sweeny Todd 2 discs set and RCA Into the Woods 1 disc) where the songs are listed as being on the same album on the list view, but do not group together on the iPod, so the songs can't play consecutively, or in the proper order. The "Apply Sort Field" and "Same album does not work, but ti is only these two RCA albums that do this. All other albums remain intact. Need help with this minor problem. Thanks.

UPDATE: This behavior (to an extent) still happens when "Repeat Album" is off. Instead of an infinite loop, it goes through all the tracks on the album (unsuccessfully) and kicks me out to the Album overview screen. Going back to list of Albums and tapping the Album again brings up "No Content: You can download music from the iTunes Store" but that screen immediately kicks me back to list of Albums.
So I am just even more confused now.
