Itunes loads, but then immediately wants to close

I have a computer with Windows 7 and iTunes 10.5.1.42.  I am able to open iTunes, but almost immediately I get asked for my Apple ID to sign in for automatic Apple downloads, then within seconds I get an error that iTunes has stopped working.  I cna either close the program or check online for a solution and close the program....both simply close iTunes.  I have used the Apple Support to uninstall iTunes and then reinstall, but I get the same results.  Below is the details of the error message.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've been having the same trouble and was hoping someone had answered this question so I didn't have to ask it again. :P
Anyway, you shouldn't have to restart your computer every time iTunes locks up. Instead, press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and click "Start Task Manager". Under the "Applications" tab, click on iTunes. It should say "Not Responding." Tell it to "End Task" and it will close out so you don't have to do a restart.
This sounds long and complicated, but it only takes about 5 seconds and is much easier than restarting.
Sorry I couldn't answer your problem about the freezing issue, but maybe this will help a little.

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -

  • PS CC, loads but then crashes before i can do anything. any ideas as to what i could do?

    I havent run PS CC for a couple weeks, and I have not changed anything on my computer that i am aware of (is a brand new build).
    Today, I went to mess around with PS and possibly edit some images but it woulndt load properly. Well, it loads but then crashes (just closes) before I can do anything. A couple times i got a pop up indicating it cant connect to the adobe servers (not that you need net service to use the program of course) but i dont even get that popup anymore.
    This is *really* ticking me off. I dont use a firewall, but do use eset node32 antivirus 2014. never set the firewall in that eithe (not really sure how to since they changed things since the last time i bought that program). windows firewall is set, but adobe it set to go through it
    LR5, PSE12, Premiere pro CC - they all load no problem but PS CC does not load properly.
    Ive run malware bytes, did a reset/boot of the computer so far. the only program Ive noticed issues with is PS CC.
    ANY ideas?

    I was having some problems with my mac, safari and itunes was freezing alot. I have to force shutdown and when I tried to start up again i get to the login page, type in my password and it starts to load, but then the screen turns blue for a few seconds and it goes back to the log in screen.     Somewhat similar problem:
    Put in the password, hit enter, the screen goes blue for half a second, then goes back to login screen and carries on logging in as usual.  Drives me mad.  It doesn't happen with a fresh Lion installation, nor if booted into safe mode.  On the machine in question it also happens to new user accounts.
    I've removed all login items, including Startup Items and Launch Demons (pun intended) and Agents, I've compared system login plists with a fresh Lion installation - can't see differences.  I've removed Little Snitch and PeerGuardian (no more third party kexts).
    @Carolyn: I've done disk maintenance with DiskUtility and fsck and even DiskWarrior, cleaned caches, etc. etc.
    Any ideas would be gratefully received.
    Sorry for trying to hijack the thread (as it's not about Lion), but it seemed dead anyway.

    Hold the shift key upon boot, that will disable any boot loading third party kernel extension files.
    Once you get in:
    1: backup your user file folders to a external storage drive
    2: go around and update all your third party software everywhere, including right clicking on third party system preference panes and removing them if necessary
    3: any third party software that can't be updated, consider removing.
    4: Look in your Console log files for "kernal protection" type messages to get a clue what's causing your problems.
    Read about Gray, White and Blue, Kernel Panics here, they are usually always caused by third party software incompatibilities, but not always.

    I couldnt get to the hard drive/ desktop. Soft login not even working. So i could not do any of that.
    In the end i took it to Apple and its actually the hard drive on its way out. A common issue with that series of Mac. Funny seeing i dont use this mac much. However being 2.5 years old and out of warrently, Apple have recognise this issue with this series/ Model and installing a new hard drive at no cost.
    Very luck and greatful. And not feeling so dumb that it was something i did or could troubleshoot myself.
    Hope this helps others that it just might be your hard drive failing.

    Each of you should set up your separate iCloud account on your own computer using your Apple ID. This gives you two independent iCloud accounts.
    Note that an iPad is not a multi-user device. It can only be synced with one account.

    Don't DL Flash from web sites. If you have Adobe Flash installed it should be in System Preferences and you can find the latest version and download from there.
    If you are installing for the first time,this is where to DL it.

    Is the Windows 8.1 system you posted from the one with the problem, or is the problem on a different system? In that case, I assume it's also Windows.
    Does Internet Explorer work normally or are all browsers affected?
    Did this problem start shortly after any software changes, such as:
    * Windows update
    * installation of new software
    * updates to add-ons

    Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
    Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
    Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    Restart your router.
    Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
    Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore)
