Itunes locked backup without asking for a password
Hi,
I have installed iTunes 11.4 on a new laptop (windows 7), I connected my iPhone 5 and downloaded iOS8. Before updating the firmware I made a backup of my iPhone and then restored it. After that i tried to restore the previous backup but iTunes asked me for a password (which i hadn't set as long as the related flag was not picked during the backup process), i tried all the password i have (IDApple and so on) but were all incorrect so I am not able to restore all my data!
How could that happen? Is there a default password used by iTunes? I also tried to use softwares to find the password but were not useful.
I need help please.
Thanks in advance
This is the iTunes bug that haven't been fixed by Apple so far. Several trials are as follows:
1. Deleting the apple.com cookies in Safari. The safari settings are linked to the iTunes store brower, enabling the cookies again fixed everything and you can login no problem.
2. Disconnect your iPhone with computer and sign out of iTunes then sign in gain.
3. Wait a moment and try again because sometimes this is poor show resulted from busy server.
4. Use 3rd party tool to unlock iPhone backup password. Recommended here: iPhone Backup Unlocker. This is the only tool to recover password for iTunes as I know.
Hope they helps somehow.

I just got my replacement phone and I need to restore my information but it will not allow me to since it is asking for a password I dont remember?
I assume you mean the phone is asking for the 4 digit password you set at the time of the backup of the phone...

I am trying to restore my Ipad 2 from iCloud but at a certain point I am asked for the password for ******** even though the account I am trying to restore is ********. I have checked all my account setting and cant see where that email address comes from. Has anyone else had this problem? Has my account been hacked?

Could the purchase have been made using a different Apple account? If so, you may need to contact Apple to find out how to transfer it to the iPad's account.

My i touch wont let me in the itunes store. Keeps asking for my password.
I have a few issues going on...... My i touch is a few years old. The battery wont hold a charge, I can not plug it directly into the computer... not a strong enough charge.
I havent used it in about a year now. I found it this week, tried to use it...every thing works fine..... emails, home security alarm, games,photos, music.All good. Even did updates on apps. But i can not purchase any thing or get into the app store at all. I know my password is correct cause I tried an old one just to check. Different message came up ...wrong password. It will not let me do any settings stuff or make any changes. I have tried every thing I can think of. Ive worked on this thing for 2 days now.
It does not give any error message ...Just keeps asking for my itunes password over and over and over again.
PLEASE HELP !!!!!- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Well I am downgrading (if you can call it that). Leopard and Snow leopard are just superior OS's for power users. All the fancy stuff put in Lion actually slowed it down considerably among all the other bugs..... but anyway
I changed my network password today. My mbp on lion cannot access the network. I deleted the saved names in network preferences, I rebooted my modem an router, even cleared the DNS cache in Terminal. It still tries to connect to the network and times out... without asking me for the new WEP password I have put on the network.
My other laptop on snow leapord does what it is supposed to. Deleted the network name in network preferences, clicked on network name to get online, and then it requested the password name. Why doesn't Lion do this??
Like I said before I did all the above. I don't know what else to do. I also manually deleted the keychain passwords. Still no luck. I guess I have to rename my network lol.Access the router's admin area and put in a new password.

ITunes keeps asking for my password
First, it's important to note that what I'm about to describe is happening only in my MacBook Pro account, not on my iMac account; nor is it happening on my wife's MBP account, nor on her iMac account. In other words, it's highly probable that some (inadvertent) action of mine has actually enabled this annoying 'feature' of iTunes. I just can't figure out what I can do to stop it.
The Problem:
For the past couple weeks, the iTunes application on my MacBook Pro has been displaying (intermittently) an alert to notify me that I need to enter my User Name (supplied) and Password (which I must enter manually) so that it can continue to make "authorized downloads." Interestingly, iTunes displays this notice irrespective of whether the application is even running at the time. I understand that iTunes may need to check in periodically (in the background) with the Apple Store, but I can't figure out why it is no longer able to do this without my authorization every single time. Here are the steps I've tried so far, to no avail:
a. iTunes Preferences > General > Check for new software updates automatically (turned off);
b. iTunes Preferences > Store > Always check for available downloads (turned off);
c. iTunes Preferences > Store > Automatically download pre-orders when available (turned off);
d. I have signed out of the Store, Quit iTunes and Logged out. Then I logged back in, opened iTunes and Signed In to my account again;
e. I have selected iTunes > Store > View My Account and turned OFF "Recommendations and Ping Posting;"
f. I have selected iTunes > Store > View My Account and clicked the button to "Reset all warnings for buying and downloading;"
g. In the very alert containing my User Name and Password I have checked the box beside "Remember Password;"
h. About 10 minutes ago, I opened iTunes Preferences and in the Advanced pane, I clicked on the Reset warnings button beside "Reset all dialog warnings." If this most recent effort finally does the trick — I won't know for sure until several more hours elapse — I promise to log in to let everyone know.UPDATE 2: As promised, I am writing to let everyone know that I believe that I finally may have resolved this problem. The procedure that seems to have resolved the issue on my computer was one that another user, Mandoskier, reports having resolved the same problem on his computer (https://discussions.apple.com/message/17276790#17276790), in which he reported the following: "This problem was solved for me by trashing "com.apple.iTunes.plist" from userid/Library/Preferences folder and repairing disk permissions."
I trashed that file two days ago, and also repaired disk permissions (using Disk Utility) and iTunes hasn’t once asked for my password!
May not work for everyone, but it’s worth a try if you haven’t yet given this recommendation a shot. Good luck, all. -
Mail app keep asking for hotmail password
Hi everyone,
I have two Hotmail,Gmail and other email service providers setup in my Mail app
the problem is only with the Hotmail accounts
The Mail program keep asking continuously - once in awhile - to type the password for the Hotmail email although the password is saved and it is there in the Keychain Access
I tried to create a new keychain in the Keychain Access and moved the passwords there ---> it didn't work after some days it asked me and then it's keep going.
right now when the mail asks for the password I close the program and then reopen it again after doing that It wont ask me for the password till some time - it happens daily -
I read that the problem is from Microsoft server but how it can be where is the iPhone mail works great without asking for Hotmail password
I also checked out Thunderbird app and guess what it worked , it didn't ask me for the Hotmail password !!!
I wonder if anyone managed to get it works fine
ThanksI wonder why Thunderbird app is working without the issue that happens to the Mail program
do you think Thunderbird is working great since it's using its own Keychain or database to store the emails password where as the Mail app is using the Keychain Access that comes with the Mac OS X ?
I don't know. However Hotmail does have some weird non-standard access protocol. (Well, it's probably a standard, but I don't know any other mail provider using such a protocol.) It's probably just some tweak that Thunderbird and others have done to force Hotmail to work with their program, but I really don't have any idea. Other people tell me their apps work so it's just seems to be something between Hotmail and OSX Mail.
Other than OSX Mail, I mostly use Outlook on Windows and Mac. They do not tell us much either since those being Microsoft products like Hotmail, it would be embarrasing for Microsoft not to make their products work well together. -

You must restore your iPhone with iTunes. -
everytime i want to restore my previews backup to my new iphone, itunes asks for my password, when i enter my password it tells me my password is incorrect, but its not! i have even changed my password. but still nothing! I get the same error from itunes!!!!
Try using your computer password. I tried any password I could think of relating to my phones, but it was none of them; it was, in fact, my computer password.
