ITunes locked up while Transferring Purchases

iTunes version 10.1.2.17, iPad 3G 64M version 4.2.1
Several months ago I purchased several videos on my iPad. Most worked fine, but one of them locked up the video application on the iPad. When selected, it just went to a blank black screen and does nothing. Now the video application doesn't work it all, it just goes directly to a blank black screen.
I tried everything I can think of, reset, reboot, and I even re-purchased the video in question to see if it would clear things, but nothing worked.
I then tried to sync so I could re-install, but during the sync iTunes locks up on the same video (3 of 10) and even after waiting 24 hours, it was still stuck at the same spot.
Anyone have an idea how to get past this without loosing the other content I purchased?

Hi,
Follow the instructions here to restore the iPad.

After it's restored, you can redownload purchased content. From the iTunes menu bar click Store / Check for Available Downloads then sync the content to the iPad.

I have had various issues with upgrading to itunes 10.5. Now that most problems have been solved I am having trouble transferring purchased apps from iphone to library. The process starts but after a few apps itunes locks up. I have to go to task manager to exit. Task manager confirms itunes is not repsonding. Any help is aprreciated. I am also getting the blank page when opening itunes.

An iPhone backup does not contain any iTunes content. After you restore from backup, you must sync or re-download your iTunes content, to restore it to your device.

Stuck while Transfering Purchases

Hello,
I recently bought a new computer. I am trying to transfer my iTunes store
purchases from one computer to the other one via my iPod. I have had to do this
before.
For some reason, while I am transfering my purchases, it gets stuck on one of my TV show episodes. I have left it on for hours and this one TV Show episode will not transfer. Until this TV Show episode is transfered, none of my other songs and TV Shows will transfer. I have 154 other songs and TV Shows that have not been transfered yet because this one episode is stuck. About half of the content that was on my iPod is now in my iTunes library.
I have been given advice to set my iTunes to Manually manage music and videos so I may transfer each item individually over to my computer so that I can bypass that episode, and then try that episode individually to see if it works. I have set it to Manually manage music and videos, but I cannot figure out to how to individually transfer a single song or TV Show episode at a time.

I am having the same issue. Ihave transferred purchases (652 out of 724) from my iPod to my new computer. It then stops at one particular song. I have stopped and restarted the transfer 3 times and continues to be stuck on one song - ANY THOUGHTS!

ITunes hangs during sync "Transferring Purchases"

I can no longer sync my iPhone. It starts out OK and then says "Transferring Purchases from Joe's iPhone. Copying HoldEm".
It then shows abour 10% on the progress bar and sits there forever. I've tried everything I know but can't seem to get around this. Even unchecking "Sync applications" has no effect.
I am really getting fed up with Apple lately... This iPhone is extremely buggy (browser crashing, etc) - and I am an Apple fan!

I had the same problem today and fixed it straight away with the suggested solution above - I just downloaded Texas Holdem on my computer through the apple iStore - it brought up a box saying that i already had bought it so I didn't have to pay again. It took quite a while (it's a large file) but once it was downloaded and I did the sync again there was no problem at all

New 7.01 Problem: iTunes locking up while scanning for "playback gaps."

Anybody have any ideas on how to fix this? When I open iTunes, it immediately begins scanning for "playback gaps" and locks up after maybe 20-30 songs...and it does not consistently lock up on any one song it is scanning.
This is most frustrating: the 7.01 upgrade has rendered iTunes non-functional.
Any help would be appreciated.

I USED to be able to get a playlist or two, I had gotten 5 GB of music back on it by putting 1-2 playlists on, ejecting, plugging back in, rinse, repeat. Now iTunes locked up AGAIN, checked the iPod, NO MUSIC. Really glad I bought this ******* piece of **** two years ago! Totally worth my money!

Oh, so you mean that since you guys released 10.5, (and its now up to 10.6.??) people have had this issue of their iTunes not responding? What the ****. So basically since 10.5 people have had their iTunes not working correctly? Fix this crap.
I already did the LSP check thing, only one besides the apple one are two windows ones that are up to date and should be there. There is no other help to be had. What a joke.

Itunes 9.2 Not transferring purchases from iPad to Laptop

I've never had a problem transferring applications from Iphone -> iPhone 3G -> iPhone 3GS -> iPad. But today, when I was attempting to transfer my applications to the iPhone 4, they did not appear.
2 Hours of troubleshooting (and a few calls to apple), I've discovered the following:
1) The applications are not being synced onto the laptop. This can be detected in two (2) ways - first, there is an exclamation mark beside the app, missing artwork (seen through the iTunes Library / Apps Screen) - Second, Get Info displays an error message, "The applications could not be used, because the original file could not be found", finally, the "Mobile Applications" directory on my laptop doesn't have the file. It really isn't being transferred onto my laptop.
I've tried the following diagnostic steps
1) Power Cycle Everything.
2) Right Click on the Device, and click on "Transfer Purchases" (though Apple swears this should be automatic)
I am able to download the applications onto my iPhone 4, and I'm not charged for them - but, getting them onto the iPhone 4 that way will probably take me the next four - five hours of determining which ones are missing, and downloading them one at a time.
Anybody else run into this problem and come up with an innovative solution?

While importing from my other Mac via the import button in Itunes my iTunes freezes.
I want to have 2 identical libraries on both machines. In the past also copying was a problem.

Everytime I connect my Ipad Air to itunes, it crashes after it tries to transfer my purchases. I have deleted itunes and re-installed it 3 times. It still does not work. Please help.

Error while transferring Purchase Order from ECC to SUS

we are working on plan driven procurement and transferring the PO from ECC to SUS, we are getting the error as "No partner found for partner number ECCSUS8".
In ECC the Vendor No is ECCSUS8, trasfered vendor from ECC to SUS. Vendor registration is done based on the mail generated and vendor login is created in the portal and assigned the roles.

Are you facing this error in PO transmission to SUS (as you mentioned below)? or you are facing this error while sending out the vendors from R/3 to SUS from BD14?
If you are facing this in vendor transmission, you need to remove the tick (flag) "Use self reg component" in SPRO-SRM server-Supplier Self-ServicesMaster DataMake Settings for Business Partners. Then you can transmit the vendors from R/3 succesfully.
If this error is in PO transmission, need to analyse further.

ITunes locks up while ripping w/ latest update

With the most recent update, iTunes has begun locking up when I attempt to rip CDs. The severity of the problem ranges from a partial lockup of XP Pro--iTunes becomes extremely difficult to close, even when forcing it via Task Manager--to a complete freezing of the computer, forcing a hard shutdown at the power switch in order to get the machine to work again.
In the partial lockup scenario, even after iTunes disappears from the Applications panel in Task Manager, it takes a LONG time before iTunes.exe will finally close in the Processes panel. Even after it disappears, XP becomes difficult to use; many (but not all) applications won't launch afterwards (Firefox, IE). The ONLY way to clean this up is to reboot.
From what I can tell, iTunes is the only application on this computer that exhibits this problematic behavior, so I'm guessing that it's not a hardware or OS issue, but one specific to iTunes itself. Any suggestions on how to remedy this? (reinstall?)

I'm having a problem that is similar to this (on OSX Leopard) I've been re-ripping my entire collection, and for at least 3 cds now, I believe because of scratches, iTunes will get stuck on a song and become essentially unresponsive. Most everything on the computer works great except for disk utility and I cannot shut down, stop iTunes, or eject the cd. I am unable even to send one of OSX's automated crash reports because I believe iTunes has locked up access to the cd drive.
I cannot shut the computer down completely without a hard shut down (holding down the power button on my mac).

As a test, shut down (power off) your computer and disconnect all USB devices including hub (except for standard keyboard and mouse if normally used). If your computer is a laptop, connect its power adapter (so that it's not running on battery power). Do this to reset the shuffle

Start up the computer, run iTunes, and connect the shuffle to a direct USB port on the computer. Does this problem recur when the shuffle is the only USB device?
If it does (as another test), select the shuffle in iTunes, so that its Settings screen is showing. Check the box for Enable disk use, and Apply. Does that make any difference regarding this problem?

How can I stop iTunes from transferring purchased apps from iPad to computer?

How can I stop iTunes from transferring purchased apps from iPad to my computer? I don't want them taking up space on my computer. iPad backups and apps on the cloud are enough to ensure my apps are backed up, so I don't understand why they need to be on iTunes too. I'm running Mavericks, iTunes 11.1.5 and iOS 7.0.6.

There isn't an app for that!
As far as I can tell there is no option to give you that control. It is worth noting that apps can be withdrawn from the store at any time. Should your device need restoring you need all the apps in your library to transfer to it before the app data can be successfully restored. Pulling that all down from the cloud would be time consuming.
If space is becoming an issue you should consider moving the library to a bigger drive (which you should also backup to another).
As a temporary measure you could try deleting some larger apps using Finder from within iTunes/iTunes Media/Mobile Applications while keeping the entries in your library. iTunes may complain during syncs that it cannot copy apps to the device because they cannot be found, but it should not clear them from the device. Test first on a single app that doesn't have any data that you would mind losing in case the behavior has changed from the last time I tested it.

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the corrupt tracks from the music section of your iTunes library, close & then reopen iTunes, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unchecked. This seems to help with partial downloads...
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the "Report a problem" links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

My phone synced, but removed all of the songs I purchased on my iPhone. Although they are still on my iTunes and I can play them.. but they will not sync back to the iPhone what so ever.. I'm stressed out big time and can't believe I was such an idiot lol!! Had a look at a few forums.. But they seem to be about transffering from Iphone to Itunes...

At the AT&T store. Tried using iCloud but only 120 songs were transferred and when I access my iTunes account now it only shows 120 and not the 450 anymore that I purchased on my old phone. Tried to sync again from the phone to iTunes and it still not working.
I purchased everything under the same apple ID account I called apple support and spent almost 2 hours with tech support for assistance and we got disconected and they never called me back.
I'm at the point where I'm about to never purchase anything anymore from apple go to another company retrieve every single charge made on my bank account from iTunes and file a law suit against the company. It's being a week that I called for assistance and no one called me back to help me with this matter even after I responded a survey with a complaint about not getting a resolution to my problem.
If you could please help me I will appreciate, I'm out of the country now and can't stay on the phone for a long time.
I need to sell my old phone but as right now besides all my bank statements the old phone is the only evidence that I purchased the songs.
