Itunes locks up on a dell running windows XP
I have a Dell XPS410 and everytime I try and drag in a mp3 file itunes locks up and basically freezes my computer. If I put in a cd the tracks come up and also plays. I have re_installed itunes 3 times.
up to a week ago though it took a while for the files to load into itunes it worked. I have not loaded any new software since.
any help would be welcome
Instead of dragging the mp3 into iTunes, have you tried adding the file?
In iTunes top line: File>Add file to library
Then browse to the mp3 location on your computer and push add. Does this work better?

This computer recently was replaced with a Dell running Windows 8.I reloaded my CS2 on this computer & it ran fine with a few exceptions as follows;
when the software comes up initially I get a message that says “could not complete your request because of program error”. Hitting OK allows me to continue using the software .
When I try to activate a function using CTLR or ALT keys I get this message “required application failed to load and the product cannot continue. Please reinstall the application”. This causes the application to abort.
Reloading my CS2 continues to generate the same messages when I depress the CTLR or ALT keys.Your original copy is obsolete and Adobe is offering a free replacement you are entitled to. Download and use that and that should clear it up for you.

Not sure about the CD burning issue but you can turn off the listing of your past purchases. Edit > Preferences > Store > Untick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.

Your question has probaby been answered already because it was posted a month ago but anyways what you do is you plug your phone into your computer. Next you want to open iTunes and click on File. Then you go down to "Transfer Purchases from *your name* iPhone". Then just wait for it to sync and you should be good.

I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

i am trying to install itunes on my computer which is running windows 7, sp1, 64 bit. i get the message 'THIS INSTALLATION PACKAGE COULD NOT BE OPENED.VERIFY THAT THIS PACKAGE EXISTS, ETC'. any ideas how to fix?

Re: Upgraded to iTunes 11.1 and now it won't recognize my iPhone Sep 18, 2013 2:15 PM (in response to davidsh_seattle) I was able to fix it! iTunes can now see my iPhone5. I followed these instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 And re-installed the "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver". • Right-click the Apple iPhone, Apple iPad, or Apple iPod entry in Device Manager and choose Update Driver from the shortcut menu. • Click "Browse my computer for driver software." • Click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer." • Click the Have Disk button. Open iTunes to verify that the device is recognized properly. this worked to sync my iphone 5. not i4 or i3 phones(now ipods) In Device Manager I also noticed I had 3 apple drivers under Portable devices. I deleted two of them. I updated the remaining driver, now I can sync my i5, i4 and i3. You may have to View hidden devices. Open device manager view-show hidden devices portable devices apple iphone "highlight" right click, update device if you have multiple apple iphone under portable devices, delete all but one.

ITunes has stopped working ...Running Windows 7(64)
I upgraded my home PC Desktop to Windows 7 earlier this year and had no trouble bringing over iTunes from my previous platform (Windows XP).
I recently returned home to the US from a work assignment out of the country and because my iTunes resides on my home PC desktop, I didn't open up iTunes for the past 6 weeks. During this time Apple released iTunes 10.5. When I returned home, the old version of iTunes was still working. However, when I upgraded to iTunes 10.5, iTunes stopped working. The error message: "iTunes has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I have worked through the following knowlege bulletins (nothing has fixed my problem):
(a)" iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues"
(b) "iTunes: Troubleshooting issues with third-party iTunes plug-ins"
(c) "iTunes 10.1 for Windows: iTunes may stop working and need to quit while importing or syncing audio"
(d) "Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows vista or Windows 7"
(e) "iTunes for Windows: system restarts, blue screen, or quits unexpectedly when accessing iTunes Store"
the last bulletin (e), recommended ensuring that my drivers were up-to-date. So I also updated my drivers.
Lastly, I contacted iTunes Store Customer Support (although my problem isn't with the store, it is upgraded iTunes running on windows 7). They told me the issue was "outside (their) expertise" and recommended I look at this discussion board.

PS - someone recommended uninstalling Apple Quick Time Player. I don't have Quick Time Player.I had the same problem. I'm using 64bit Windows7. This solution only partially worked for me. I still couldn't connect to the iTunes store.
The following solution worked for me:
COPY QTMovieWin.dll
FROM c:\program files (x86)\common files\apple\apple application support\
INTO c:\program files (x86)/iTunes -
I am downloading an album and I don't know which format to choose. Flac, apple lossless, or high quality mp3. I want to play it in itunes, on my iphone and i have a pc running windows 7. Does that make a difference?
Go with Apple Lossless. It will play readily in iTunes vs. FLAC. You can convert it later to mp3 if you wish but you cannot convert mp3 to ALE or FLAC and get back the quality that was lost. You can also convert ALE to FLAC if you need to.

Cannot connect to iTunes Store since bought Sony laptop running Windows 8
I have a new Sony Vaio laptop running on Windows 8. Everything is fine with iTunes (my music etc transferred and new iPhone 5S synced no problem) except I cannot connect to the Store. The connection bar runs to about three-quarters of the way and then message pops up saying "iTunes has stopped working". Have tried uninstalling and re-installing. Has made no difference. I have ESET firewall protection but this wasn't a problem on my old Sony with Vista. Help! Thank you in advance!

I own an ipod and have been a subscriber to itunes for years. I just had my computer rebuilt from a system crash. I had window XP Pro 64 bit OS installed & now i cant reinstall itunes. How do i get my itunes back? Do you have a version of itunes that works on a 64 bit OS that is NOT Windows Vista?
I hope Apple will present a solution ASAP so we don't have to trash our iPhones and iPods! Software applications for multi-media require more gigs of RAM; and therefore, 64bit computers, that can take 120Gs, are becoming more attractive.

Itunes crashes when adding files. Running windows 7
I am trying to add PDF files to my ipad, and every time I try to drag and drop or even add to the library from file, it crashes itunes. I tried different files, that have been on my ipad previosuly and I also logged under my husbands name to see if his itunes worked, and the same thing happens. Any advice?

I had the same problem.
Tried to do many things but the result was the same.
However apple came up with the solutions and it worked.
Basically it is some other pgms that is causing this crash so follow the apple’s suggestions and it is going to work for sure.

I was having the same problem. I went into Control Panel and repaired quicktime, and now i am able to open itunes. hope this works for you!

If I click the OK button then I get an Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 box that

I have no problem downloading images into the program or renaming files or
pulling images back out I just can't edit.

Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?
