ITunes logo only showing on start up

I'm trying to turn on my iPad mini and all I get is the Apple logo and then the logo for iTunes. Nothing responds. Is my only option to restore my iPad?

RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary.

If they are iTunes purchased music then go to Settings>iTunes and App Store and turn off Show All.
Next
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

My iTunes is only showing music in the cloud.

This just started happening last night. All of a sudden, all of my playlists are gone and iTunes is only showing music from the cloud. All of my music is on my local computer but it doesn't appear in iTunes. I've turned off the cloud functionality and then no music is displayed at all. Because of this issue, my phone's music is no longer syncing to iTunes since I use a play list to sync. Same issue with my movies and apps. The entire library in iTunes has been replaced by the cloud. iTunes Match and Genius are turned off. They were never turned on.

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

My iTunes library only shows purchased songs but i have more music on my iPod if it syncs i lose it all?

My iTunes Library only shows purchased songs from iTunes, i have music on my iPod from purchased and cds i have burnt from my computer, this all used to show up in my library but since having to have a new hard drive in my computer my library only shows purchsed songs. If i want to sync my iPod it tells me i will lose all exsisting music which i don't want to do, can anyone help?

- When all ths stuff is in your iTunes library, make a backup of the iPod by connecting the iPod to the computer and then right-clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and selecting Backup.
- Last, restore from that backup and then sync as necessary.

It can be fixed by restoring the iPad to factory settings. Your iPad has gone into recovery mode.

I got my ipad2 almost a month back. But the ITune store only shows two option, podcast and ituneU...can somebody tell me hot to buy music and movies from the store?

It depends on what country you are in - not all content types are available in all countries. A full list of what is available where is shown on this page . If you are in one of those countries where only podcasts and iTunes U are available, the unfortunately you won't be able to buy music and films from Apple (and the terms of use of the stores state that you cannot use another country's store). Are there other music purchase download sites in your country ?

About a week or two ago, I got the new iPhone 5C and when I first got it, I synced it tomy computer so I could transfer over all my music, tones, etc. I just went to sync it again so I could more music, but my iTunes library is only showing what's stored in my cloud (which is only 1/5 of my music)?
I have all my music on my phone, but I need to sync my phone after I put on more music, but I don't want to lose what music it's missing in the library. Is there anything I can do??

Library resetting has been a low-level random issue mostly during iTunes upgrades for a long time. Sony VIAO computers have had software on them that has interfered with iTunes in much the same way as the current problem which I've connected to AVG. If the AVG update hasn't fixed the problem for you then I suggest you remove AVG and see if it goes away. I don't know how you use your library, but virtually any activity with iTunes causes the database to be updated. As I see it AVG has been interrupting this update process. Syncing a device will no doubt involve many updates to the database, only one of which needs to trip up in order to clear the library.

ITunes Match only showing iTunes Store bought albums

I changed my phone to an iPhone 5 about a month ago and since then have only been able to get iTunes Match to show albums which I have bought from the iTunes Store. As I have many many more albums stored on iTunes which showed and could be downloaded when I had my previous phone (iPhone 4), this has been really frustrating. I'd really appreciate it If anyone could offer advice. Thanks.

Essentially, you'll have to "reset" all of your iTunes Match data but I was willing to and it actually went really smoothly. Finally have all my artists, albums, etc. listed on all my iOS devices as they should be. My thoughts are that somewhere, iTunes Match data became corrupted, either for a song, artist, album that caused the strange behaviors!
Follow this up with deleting your 3 media database files.

ITunes is only showing spinning wheel of death after start

Hi!
I just wanted to start iTunes and suddenly it didn't worked anymore. Immediately after the window appears, the spinning wheel of death does also.
I've tried to reinstall iTunes, deleting all preferences and plists. I also renamed my iTunes folder to check if the library is corrupt, but nothing worked so far.
I also tried to creat a new user, but after setting up itunes, the same error appears.
I'm using OS X 10.5.6 and iTunes 8.0.2 on a MacBook1,1.
What happened? I didn't touch anything, since the last sucessfull start of iTunes.

I am having the same issue - spinning wheel of death/freeze after starting iTunes 8.0.2. At the same time MobileMe sync ceased to work - the Sync tab in the MobileMe pane in Preferences seizes up.
Everything was okay until a week ago...

I'm not sure I have iCloud on, and my iPad is showing the usb cord, along with the iTunes logo, only able to shut off. Turned it back on, same logo and usb cord. Help?

I was trying to get the new iOS update, and the iPad froze. I've seen others who have the same problem, but they had the iCloud and things like that. I have a few stories on there, and I'm not about ready to lose them, as I was stupid enough to not transfer them to my computer or anywhere else.

Ipod touch shows up under devices on the left in itunes, but only shows "ipod" to the right

I have an ipod touch 4th generation 64 gb. I connected to iTunes using usb cord. normally, the device shows up in the left hand column of itunes. then on the right, you have the ipod info - summary- music- apps, etc. however, the only thing i get on the right is just the word "ipod" nothing else. no links or tabs or even a sync button. please help

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.
