ITunes lost due to software reinstall

I had to re-install the original operating software on my g5 Intel, using the original install disks, then I used the upgrade function to catch up. Upon re-opening iTunes it gives me an error message that "iTunes library cannot be read because it was created by an earlier version of iTunes". I did a non-erase install and so far most of my programs have retained their earlier settings. iTunes won't let me open it at all past the error message. I had A LOT of music plus now the functionality seems to be lost. Help!

how do I get my account back on my laptop ... I am going round and round in support and cannot find an answer. hardrive wiped due to crash and computer repair. Itunes does not allow you to download a new copy of itunes because if you start to put the info in, including your visa number they say someone else has that account. I just went to itunes, went to my account then store, put in my username and password, but all I get is a means to buy ipods, that sort of stuff. We can all bet on one thing, that I am not the first person this has happened too, but when you go to all the forums, I can not find one incident of a posting regarding the subject

Have tried to open my existing itunes but it states that it can not be opened due to missing files...please reinstall itunes. Repeated attempts to reinstall are to no avail....any ideas?
I assume you are talking about iTunes on your computer, if so, you will have to remove all Apple programs associated with iTunes:
iTunes, QuickTime, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour and Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Make sure everything that is by Apple is removed including Safari. You can sort by "Publisher", when you uninstall programs. Make sure you have at least one other web browser (like Firefox or Internet Explorer) before removing Safari. That way you can go back to the Apple web site and redownload iTunes later.
Reboot the computer then reinstall iTunes. Everything should work normally. -
I received an iTunes update today and updates files. Tonight, I couldn't acces my iTunes. I uninstalled and reinstalled and still getting same error message: iTunes exe unable to locate component. This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.DLL was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. I've done it several times and still get the error. I'm fearful I have lost all my music. What can I do?

Please help me. I have an Ipod Shuffle and Ipod Nano both the latest versions. I can not get them to communicate with my ITunes. During the last 48 hours I was able to see my iPad in iTunes only one time during many attemnpts to connect . I haven't been able to see it during the llast several attempts.
Any suggestions? The standard suggestions have not worked: i.e. stop then start AMDS; tuurn off iPad and PC, then restart both and reconfrom iPad to PC; reload iTunes. -

I am a regular user of I-tunes but recently i dont know why but I got some error in Launching I-tunes. So as recomonded by "Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7" section. I started removing the products. But after removing Quick time, I tried to remove Apple Software Update but while uninstalling it gave error that "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." and the uninstall rollbacks.
Please send me a feasible solution to this problem.

My husband bought an iPad 2. I have a Mac. ITunes is in my name but I have turned sharing on. When we updated to OS5 we lost all the free apps that he downloaded in his user name. Is there no way to update using my iTunes without losing his software. He is frustrated using the iPad because he never knows whether to use his user name or my user name.
Apps are only tied to one account... You can set up two iTunes accounts on your computer, however, and let his iPad sync to his account. If he has never backed up his apps to a computer, however, he will have to redownload all the apps. Afterwards, he can backup to iCloud instead of your computer.

Within the last hour, I noticed that my older MacBook Pro, while I was using iTunes, lost contrast on the screen. I am sorry, but I did not take exact notes on this event. Around the same time, I did do a back up, uploaded Apple software, etc.
I'm using two MacPros simultaniously, the old one for iTunes, and the new one for the other things. My new one has no problems, so am wondering if there is an easy way to correct the older MacPro's contrast problems. The computer is over three years old, and I'm wondering also if this failure is an aging sign. (I also have other problems, such as a noisy DVD drive, which is part of the reason I bought a new MacBook Pro.)Is the older MBP a pre-Unibody model from early 2008? If so, you would be entitled to a free repair.
The lost contrast could be considered distorted video.
Do you have an external monitor? If the external shows the same lost contrast, the graphics chip is likely the culprit. If the external is OK, then you probably have an issue with the built in display or possibly with its connections.
You may also want to check in Universal Access to see if the contrast bar is set in its normal position (all the way to the left).
Apple has a special test they can run to diagnose the NVIDIA issue, so if you have access to an Apple Store, make an appointment at the genius bar to have it run.

After plugging in my iPhone 4s to iTunes it asks me to update my software. I went to update to the latest iTunes software, download went fine but when completed, I couldnt open iTunes. I uninstalled and reinstalled again and its happening again. I click on the iTunes icon to open but nothing happens? (Im a WindowsPC user)

You can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod: File>Transfer Purchases
You can try contacting itunes support and asking for an exception, but they are under no obligation to allow.

Problem with iTunes and/or updater software??
I just bought a brand new 30gig iPod video. I followed apple's "instructions" and installed iTunes and the iPod software off of the included cd. I then connected my iPod and it charged but itunes never recognized it. Windows can find it (it appears as an external disk drive in my computer and iPod in other places) but iTunes doesn't recognize it at all. I have tried resetting the iPod, uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes/ipod software using the install cd, i have tried downloading the latest software from apples website and installing it that way, I have tried everything but restoring the ipod because the updater software won't even work. every time I try to use it, it just says "Service Error". I really have no idea what to do. The iPod seems to work fine, it turns on, turns off, windows seems to recognize it, but iTunes won't recognize the iPod and the iPod updater software doesn't seem to work at all. The last thing I am going to try is wiping my computer harddrive (it needs it for other reasons, not just this iPod problem) and starting completely fresh with nothing or very little installed besides iTunes and the iPod software.
