ITunes, Mail etc.... Don't open a window

I try to open iTunes or Mail. And it shows it as open, but no window. I can't see the app at all. Any ideas?

iTunes and Quicktime don't work on Windows 7 64-bit. I tried to uninstall and install the package according to Apple support article (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923) but still the same problem. I even tried to stop the Bonjour, it didn't help either. When I try to run either iTunes or Quicktime I get a Windows error message "iTunes has stopped working", with details like this:

Taken as a whole, the symptoms suggest that another application (other than QuickTime itself) has stashed old QuickTime componentry in your system files.
So just in case we'll go looking for older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
Open the "Windows" folder.
Open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

Finder don´t open the window

my finder in my dock, when i click on it don´t open the window.
only if i press command+n or select a new window.
i don´t now if i made a combination keys and i dont no how to revers it.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

I saw your message. Below are the problems:
Whenever I connect my iphone 3GS to my PC through a USB. My itunes software comes up automatically.
1. After that a message appears from the itunes that states that 'itunes could not connect to the itunes store, an unknown error cccured (306).
2. After the above, an alert message comes up which states that A new iphone software version 5.1 is availlable for my iphone. It then states would you like to download it and update your iphone now? With the options buttons as Cancel or Download and Update or Download Only. Whenever I clicked on Download and Update or Download Only, the next message that comes up is that The iphone Software Update Server Could not be Contacted and suggest make sure your network setting are correct and active or try again later.
The above is the challenges I am facing now.

Are you trying to transfer the GarageBand projects or the rendered audio files? What version of GarageBand do you have on your iPhone?
I do not think you can share your GarageBand projects from your iPhone to GarageBand on your Mac, unless you have iCloud, afaik, only the audio files.
How did you transfer the song?

You might try this tip....iTunes 11.1.3 appears to have flawed permissions:
Repair permissions either with Disk Utility in the Applications/Utilities folder or on the command line with:
diskutil repairPermissions /

ITunes radio links don't work on Windows 7

With the lastest iTunes upgrade to iTunes 1.1.3.8 on my Windows 7-based PC, Apple removed the only link on the iTunes Store that connected me to iTunes Radio. I've written to Apple support and was told it has to do with my firewall, but that's not true because I restared my computer and tried the links again with no firewall running. The only application running was iTunes, and still all the links on the iTunes store pages to iTunes radio are dead. The only way I can access iTunes radio is by clicking on the iTunes guide link at the bottom of the page which opens a browser page with a link to iTunes radio. This works, but given the ineptitude of Apple on this matter, I suspect this link will eventually disappear, too. I first reported the radio's dead links a few days after iTune's launch, but the support team either isn't bothering to pass long bug reports to their developers or Apple doesn't care about those who use iTunes on Windows.
I don't own this computer, it's my employer's. Planned to buy a Mac when the time came to buy my own system, but I'm no longer confident that Apple delivers what for me was its best selling point, excellent customer care. Sad.

Please Help New version of Itunes 6.4 don't open.

Hi , today I decided to download quicktime with the new version of apple itunes on apple.com and since I downloaded that and upgraded my itunes is not opening anymore on my desktop.
There are absolutely no error messages it just don't open the program does not load.
I have tried reinstalling , deleting quicktime and redownloading another version of itunes and it still don't open. I never had troubles like that.
I am on Windows XP.
Any ideas ?

just checking something...does Quicktime open? Double check to make sure it is there, because iTunes cannot open without Quicktime. If not, DL a standalone version of Quicktime:

Also, what antivirus and spyware programs do you run on your Box? Some of them interfere with iTunes and Quicktime and cause it not to download properly. Post back and we will get it up and going.

Itunes suddenly not able to open on windows 7

Hey,
Suddenly, iTunes will not open on windows 7. If I try to open it, it appears in the taskbar, but will disapear from the taskbar a second later.
I have been using iTunes on this computer for 3 months, and this is the first trouble I have had with it. A day before this happened, it would not recognise
that I plugged my iPod Touch (Even though windows regonized it as a camer, like always.) It kept trying to wifi sync, which wouldn't work because our wifi wasn't working at the time.

When I click a link in Mail (Mac OS) Firefox opens two windows. The frontmost window is always blank. The other window shows the page to which the link pointed. I would like to avoid having two windows open.

Is there a way or a function that avoids opening another
window / tab when the user clicks on a Flash button that directs to

My Mail application will not open a window on my desktop?

Anyone else had this problem of Mail not opening on their desktop after having done a software update- any suggestions how to get it to open? I am on 10.9 OSX operating system now.

Generally, the ikons you'll place on your desktop, (and all of those which reside on the DOCK) will be 'aliases,' which simply direct the machine to follow the path to the Application itself.
Your 'Applications' folder should be visible in the left-hand collum on any open window. Open it. If an Application will open directly it means that the path to the alias was broken and you need to delete it and make a new one, or track down its real location through the finder. Try not to ever place Applications themselves on your desktop.
After 8 days without Mail, I just succeeded at restoring mom's connections on her iMac. I'll be happy to make more suggestions as needed...

Mail in Lion, cannot open main window

Hi,
After upgrading to Lion, my Mail is acting all wierd.
When I open Mail, the icon jumps and gets a blue dot like normal, but the main window does not open.
If I choose "New email" from the menu, the new email window opens.
But if I choose "New main window" (or whatever it is called in english), nothing happens.
I've also noticed that Mail does not seem to recieve my messages, because I don't get the red "1" badge on the icon when I should be getting new emails (I still get them on my iPhone though so I know they should be there).
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

E-mail addresses don't transfer from Windows Contacts to 3GS i phone

In preparation for my new i phone 3GS I completed all details in Windows Contacts. On syncing using Itunes, via cable connection, all names,addresses and phone numbers were transferred but none of the e-mail addresses. Yet I can now enter a new contact in Windows Contacts and all the info, including the e-mail address is transferred to the phone. Similarly I can add the e-mail addresses direct to the i phone for my existing contacts and they remain on both the phone and Windows Contacts after syncing without any problem. I don't however relish typing all my e-mail addresses into the i phone. Can anyone help please. (In case it's relevant I previously had an o2 xda Zest operating Windows Mobile 6.1 which I may have synchronised at some time using Windows Mobile Device Centre but latterly this hadn't worked so I merely connected using the xda as a storage device)

Can you clarify what your question was ? Its a bit hard to figure out.

Itunes downloaded but won't open on Windows 8

I just purchased a laptop with Windows 8 and Itunes downloaded fine but it won't open. It says "Itunes has stopped working". I have a Sony Vaio and my previous computer was a Sony Vaio so I know it should be working. Any tips or advice on what to try?

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
