ITunes Match 4010 Error - Apple Server Issue?

I've been using iTunes Match since the day it was available, and have had no issues.  Late last week I started getting the 4010 error some others have been reporting. The library information is gathered and upload to Apple without any apparent issue.  It gets hung up at the point when the iTunes message "Waiting for Apple to deliver your iTunes Match results..." has been up for about 30 seconds.  After that, the 4010 error appears.
I've tried all the usual tricks and resets, including signing out, creating a new iTunes library, etc., with no success.  The error appears multiple computers under my account.
I'm guessing this is an Apple server issue, but I'm not hearing a lot about it, so I'm beginning to wonder if it's happening to a small number of us.  Does anyone know if this is a widespread issue?
Thanks!

Thanks.  I checked out those discussions before starting this one. Although they might be related, the other threads seem to mostly be about trouble initially setting up the match, trouble with uploading song information, or in one case, apparent duplicate charges from Apple.
The problem I'm seeing is slightly different in that it happens during a download, when the server is attempting to send the match info back to iTunes.  The suggested fixes didn't work, nor did some others I tried.
I thought the issue might be fixed with the last iTunes update, but it wasn't.  I had the same issue with 10.5.1 and 10.5.2.  It sounds like there are multiple problems on Apple's side.  It's been a week, but I guess we'll continue to wait and see.
Thanks, again.

  • Itunes match 4010 error

Today I'm getting an "unknown error occured (4010)" when iTunes Match tries to update.  It sits at "Waiting for Apple to deliver your iTunes Match result..." for awhile and then it puts up that error.  It did so both before updating to iTunes 10.7 (Windows) and afterwards.
I can update genius info, but not match.
    Anyone else having this problem?

Very strange - for me it's the same problem.
I've tried to move my library from my Macbook Pro to my new-buyed-used mac-mini. It all went sucessfull, but until the movement of my library, all works fine - only iTunes Match isn't working until then.
Now my mac-mini should be the one, who's syncing with iTunes Match.
I've already connected my Macbook Pro again with a all-new library and can acess my cloud-hosted songs. Also from my iPad 2 & my iPhone - but i can't sync any new songs to my account...
I also get the same, meaningless Message as Morac already posted: "unknown error occured (4010)"
Is any body here who has a tipp/sloution for me?
Also I'm afraid, that no one from the hotline has a tipp/solution - sounds like they need some training?

  • HT4623 Hi why does my itunes always say "error contacting server" when i update my iPhone 5 with the iOs 6.1.3 update

Hi why does my itunes always say "error contacting server" when i update my iPhone 5 (iOs 6.0.2) with the iOs 6.1.3 update?

    Hey Tigergirl17,
Thanks for the question. If you haven't already done so, you may want to update iTunes to v11.1 (released on Sept 18th). After updating iTunes, you can then update your iPhone 5 to iOS 7.

  • HT4913 i am trying to get my computer and my wifes computer on my itunes match.  i did the add a computer function and it says that this computer is already associated with an apple id...if you use itunes match with your apple id etc for 90 days...please

i did the add a computer function and it says that this computer is already associated with an apple id...if you use itunes match with your apple id etc for 90 days...please explain.  is this going to screw my wifes account up?

If you both have seperate iTunes Store accounts then basically, yes, it is going "screw up" your wife's account.
iTunes Match is designed as a single-user service which is associated with one and only one iTunes Store account ID. If you have subscribed on your account and want to activate the service on another computer that is already signed in with an account the present account must be signed out and then iTunes signed into your account. This means the other computer will have complete access to your account and will only be able to make purchases on your account. iTM is not designed to be signed in and out at will. If she has apps purchased with her iTunes Store account they will not be able to be updated.

  • ITunes Match get error -3231

iTunes Match get error -3231 in Taiwan.
I tried Option+ reEnable iTunes Match to clean the cache.
    But it doesn't work now.

    i) I signed out of iTunes.
ii) Turned everything off, including the computer (not sure if this is important)
iii) Turned it all back on.
iv) Signed back to my iTunes account.
    v) Turned on iTunes Match
It goes through the process, and it works.
    Good luck, peeps!

  • How can my wife access all of our itunes music if she signs up for iTunes match, but her apple id is different than mine?

How can my wife access all of our iTunes music, even if she subscribes to iTunes Match, if her Apple ID is different than mine?

I do subscribe to iTunes Match.....and the music i am referring to is all of our downloaded albums and songs that are currently in iTunes and in the "cloud" on my iPhone and my iPad.
So if she uses my Apple ID for her iPhone, she can sign up for iTunes Match on my account?  Will any of my apps then transfer to her phone?  Or just the iTunes "data"?

  • If i sign up for itunes match with one apple id can i get the other apple id songs

if i sign up for itunes match with one apple id can i get the other apple id songs

I'm assuming you mean can you access the purchased songs from another apple id.  No you cannot.  You will need to download these on another computer and then transfer the hard files into your itunes library that you are using icloud with and let icloud match them.
You cannot access two different id's from one match account.  Also, if you sign out of the match account that you are signed into to another to download purchases you will not be able to sign back into your match account for three months.  So do not do this either.  Just use a friends computer or another way.

after a few minutes it gives an error and closes the window.
small tracks are no problem. and the max limit is not reached
    some ideas?
    greetings from germany

I wanted to first thank you for this, as this is the only workaround literature that seems to be floating around out there.  With that said, I know it is a big ask, but is there any way that you could create a video showing step by step how to do what you do?  I have several tracks that are stuck in waiting mode, and if left in itunes, will never upload or match...they only cause the upload process to hang up and restart.  I've tried leaving it for days...I've tried converting the files, signing in and out of itunes (and itunes match), updating itunes match, and I tried your technique...unfortunately to no avail.  Perhaps I didn't do your technique correctly.  I used audacity to reverse the audio.
ANY help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
    Thanks

  • ITunes Match - Unknown Error Occurred (4010)

    Is iTunes Match down?
I can't connect and keep getting this error message:

I had this problem also and tried a few more troubleshooting steps (none of which worked), but they might help someone.
Sign out of Apple Id in iTunes, then sign back in
Turn on iTunes Match <-- didn't work, still had 4010 error
Turn off/on iTunes Match while holding the Option Key <-- didn't work, still had 4010 error
    Quit iTunes
Go into Finder -> Music and rename the "iTunes" folder to "iTunes Backup"
Hold down Option key while clicking on the iTunes icon to start it (this asks you to create a new iTunes library)
Created a new iTunes folder (Music -> iTunes)
Sign into Apple Id in iTunes, then turn on iTunes Match while holding the Option Key <-- didn't work, still had 4010 error
Physically walk to another iMac and sign into iTunes and turn on iTunes Match while holding the Option Key <-- didn't work, still had 4010 error
At this point, after having tested on multiple iMacs, I figured that the problem was not with my local iTunes, but something larger (on Apple's end).
Apparently, if you can't access iTunes Match on multiple computers, then the problem could be with your account and you will need to contact Apple Support.  I ended up describing my situation on the support page here - https://getsupport.apple.com/, and had them call me.  I spoke to Anastasia and she had to bump me up to another technician, Brandon.  He suggested that I delete the Album from iTunes...but alas, I cannot get access to the album to delete it without iTunes Match working.
Brandon finally spoke with an Engineer and they said that the issue was on my Apple Id Account and that they'd have to place the account into troubleshooting mode (which means giving Apple access to your account) so that they could figure out the problem.  Of course, I wanted this fixed, so I let them.  I'll hear back in 3-4 days what the engineers find.

  • ITunes Match Unknown Error (4010)

Does anyone know how to solve the "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (4010.)" when trying to set up iTunes Match? It almost went through once but froze at step 3. Now I'm just getting this error above at the end of step 1.
I currently only can see maybe 2/3rds of my iTunes library in the cloud. Some appear to be matches, some are uploads, however not everything is up there. I've tried restarting the match process to no success.
I've e-mailed apple, but the e-mail I got back directed me to these forums.
    - I've checked the xml file and it appears to be fine
    - I've turned off all other iOS devices/AppleTV
    - I've checked for 'dead songs'
    - Tried looking for a weird 'square' in my meta tags
    - There are songs waiting to upload, but don't. (meet all requirements like being over 96k bit rate, etc.)
If the answer has been posted somewhere on here, please let me know. I feel I've done a fairly thourough search on here but unfortunately have not found any solutions yet.
    Thanks,
    -Mike

    I'm having the same problem.
I started the iTunes Match process on Monday and everything started off with smooth sailing. Over 11,000 songs were matched and the other 4,000 were being uploaded into the cloud. Sometime Wednesday night, iTunes crashed unexpectedly and I have been getting the 4010 error ever since. I had 2,000 songs left to upload into the cloud.
    I've:
    - Ran Software Update.
    - Repaired Disk Permissions.
    - Reset PRAM & SMC.
    - Reinstalled iTunes.
    - Checked for Dead Tracks.
    - Validated the XML file the iTunes Library resides in.
    - Re-created the XML file for the iTunes Library.
    - Wiped my entire iTunes library.
I'm still getting that darn 4010 error the moment Step 1 is about to complete.
I've sent off two very detailed emails to iTunes and this is the first response I got back:
"I understand that your iTunes Match has stopped working for your account. I know you must be eager to have this taken care of. I am so sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. My name is John from the iTunes Store and I will do my best to help you.
Apple's engineers are currently working toward a resolution for the issue you have reported. You will receive an email after the matter has been investigated and further information is available.
Thank you so much for your patience. Apple wants your iTunes experience to be as enjoyable as possible.
    Have a great day."
So, um, it looks like there's no fix at the moment.

  • Itunes match. says error 4010

I have been trying to get my itunes match to work for a really long time.  there was a time that it was on and then i got a window saying to long out and then log back in.  after I logged back in, I have been getting the error 4010. and that it cannot connect to store.

Yes, but does it work the next time you add to your library?
If I do all the steps (sign in, turn off, sign out, reset, sign out, quit, open, shake, repeat) I can sometimes get iTunes Match to work ONCE, I think. But then it fails with some random error message (4001, 4002, 4010, 3132, etc) the next time it runs. It basically makes it useless, and sometimes it seems to screw up iTunes as well, with things I've bought downloading a second time, or the program hanging.
This need to work. Why hasn't Apple addressed this problem? It's obvious a lot of people are having it.

  • ITunes Match "Unknown" Error

I wanted to upload some songs my match, but it wouldn't let me, so I found an article online telling me to delete my "apple.com" cookies then signed back into my account but it would constantly ask me to sign in, and it would't stop asking me to, even though my password was correct. So now my computer does not let me sign into my match.
    Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10

I had this problem also and tried a few more troubleshooting steps (none of which worked), but they might help someone.

  • Apple TV, iTunes match and multiple apple IDs

My husband and I recently got Apple TV and also converted from MobileMe to iCloud.  We each have our own unique Apple IDs that we each use to purchase from iTunes.  We also set up a shared Apple ID to create Home Sharing so that we could access our music libraries in Apple TV (so three separate, unique Apple IDs).  And we each signed up for iTunes Match, but on our individual Apple IDs (not the shared Apple ID).  Now I'm trying to turn on iTunes Match in Apple TV and am running into an issue.  It seems that since Apple TV is set up with the shared Apple ID (so that we can access things via Home Sharing and also charge purchases on Apple TV to the joint account), we may not be able to turn on iTunes Match in Apple TV because that shared Apple ID hasn't turned on iTunes Match.
My question is: should we spend an additional $25 to turn on iTunes Match on the shared Apple ID and will doing so prevent us from accessing iTunes Match on one of our individual IDs on our laptop (which is how I personally acces iTunes and sync all my devices - iPhone, iPad, etc. -  my husband does his syncing on his work computer) - due to the 90 day error message?  I'm trying to figure out the best, most practical approach for accessing all of our music and other iTunes downloaded content as well as photos, etc. and I'm struggling a bit here.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

Have you tried the simple signout and try to sign back in with the other username and password? You may need to reduce the number of device sharing on the account you wish to access , I believe there are limits look at apple.com
