ITunes Match, change computer library

I have iTunes Match setup and working fine on my MB Pro, iPhone, iPad.
My partner has a MB Air, with it's own iTunes Library and an iPod Touch.
Hour whole house ecosystem is using the same Apple ID.
I'm wanting to know how to use the iTunes library, and iTunes Match from the MB Pro to my partner's MB Air and iPod Touch. We don't even need the library on the Air as it is a subset of the main iTunes Library on the MB Pro.
The iPod Touch is synced with the MB Air.
I'm just a bit confused about what will work, how to do it given these parameters. Do I just turn on Match on the iPod Touch and access the MB Pro as a shared library?
Thanks.

  • Itunes Match - 2nd Computer/Library

I have bought and set up itunes match on a macbook pro. I am now on a second laptop - a macbook air. I emptied the itunes library from the air and then turned on itunes match. playlists and their songs from the macbook pro's library have appeared, but not songs in the library. How do I get the songs in the library to appear. Settings are on view music/songs in icloud, I am logged into the same account. I see the music in the playlists, but not the library. What do I do?

    Hi,
If you have set up a new iTunes library on your MacBook Air and signed into match, you should see all the music that that you have in the cloud irrespective of whether you are viewing a playlist or all you music in song view. The difference is that all you music in cloud will have the download icon on the MacBook Air.

  • ITune Match 25,000+  library

Can you pay more money to iTune Match 25,000+  library? Or can I have more than 1 iTune Match Accounts?

    mostly42 wrote:
Even if they are songs that would match they still count in your 25,000 limit. It's only songs purchased from iTunes store that don't count against the max.
    Actually, this is incorrect.
The license for iTunes Match states,
"iTunes Match works with libraries that contain up to 25,000 songs which are either not currently available on the iTunes Service, or (ii) not purchased from the iTunes Service with your Account. Songs with quality less than 96 kbps or that are not authorized for your computer are not eligible for iTunes Match."
There are some issues still to be worked out so hopefully, this will get sorted.

  • With iTunes Match, does each library you enable on the same computer count as separate device?

I have four iTunes libraries on my Mac, my main iTunes library, one for Christmas, one for Christian, and one for CDs. Additionally, my husband and daughter each have their own computers with a single library on each.  Since we are only allowed 10 devices with iTunes Match (per Apple ID), including computers, I need to know if each of my four libraries on my Mac will count as a separate device if I enable each of them for Match. If so, this would cause us to exceed the maximum number of devices needed for all of us.
Also, if I use Match for all four of my libraries, is there any way to maintain my separate libraries without having everything from all of them end up intermingled with each other? If not, I suppose I may as well consolidate my other three libraries with my main library.

All the libraries you add to Match are merged together, so you may as well consolidate them.
In that case I assume that the first question becomes irrelevant, but I will try to answer it anyway. Whilst you are allowed 10 devices, only 5 of them can be computers. However, it does state "devices" rather than libraries, so I think that each computer would only count as one even if you have more than one library.
I haven't got multiple libraries on the same computer though, so my assumption may be wrong. If so I'm sure someone will correct me.

  • Will iTunes Match change all of the tags on my songs?

I have changed many of the song titles, and albums etc. When I use iTunes Match will it change them all to what they are on iTunes?

    Hi,
No. Match only works with music in your computers iTunes library.
You will need to copy your music from the ipad to your computer. If you search the web, you will find apps that will allow you to do this.

  • I just ran iTunes match on my library and only 31 out of 1570 songs loaded

New to forums and mac, so not sure if I am doing this right but seems to be my last resort for support on my apple products according to Apple.  Having a multitude of problems doing just basic things on my mac and not even sure where to turn.  I have a mini and ipad and synched them last night so now ALL my music and ALL my photos live on my ipad now and it is FULL.  Thought I would lighten the load on my ipad by subscribing to iTunes Match so the music would reside in the 'cloud' but after iTunes chugged on through the night last night, only 31 songs of 1570 song library has the little cloud symbol.  Was told by Apple that as soon as I get them formatted correctly it should all work like magic.  Not a clue what I need to do.  Can anyone help?

    Hi,
    I don't think you're crazy.
I think that you have fallen into the same trap as many other posters.
First and foremost, you can only use Match on a computer that has itunes with your music on your hard drive (or extenal drive). If you had not applied match to your old computer, you have lost your music except for songs previously purchased from the itunes store.
If you have a back up, you can restore the music to your new computer.

  • Itunes Match-original computer is no longer associated

I joined itunes match last spring, using my imac.  Then I added my iphone and finally my ipad in July.
I just got this message on my imac when I tried to sign to imatch: This computer is already associated with an Apple ID. You can use iTunes Match on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this computer with a different Apple ID for 69 days.
I haven't used a different apple idea on my window.  My kids have different apple ids. I was looking at their music and trying to get so I could share some of theirs (hey, I pay for it!) - and put some of it in the "shared" file.  Did that trigger something?  Any way to undo all this?

The only thing to do is to follow the information on the support document that you linked from that talks about not syncing with a computer. Read further down. You will have to restore the phone as new. Also, make sure you have the Apple ID and password for the original owner that activated the phone, unless they have already deactivated Find My iPhone.

  • How do I stop Itunes from changing my library location

Is there just no answer to what should be a simple setting change?? No matter what I do, Itunes insists on changing my library location the instant there's any problem talking to my network share where all of my music is. This is absolutely ridiculous because this is on a laptop and there are times when the network connection is just not up yet, or whatever. Then it takes 10 minutes for me to change it back and let it figure everything out again. Has anyone ever been able to resolve this? I'd rather Itunes just return an error that tells me it can't read my library than to change it on me....

Have struggled with this issue in the past. In my experience, there is no simple, painless solution. I attempted to transfer my entire internal drive to my new external where there were copies of all the songs in place. Check to see how your library is organized on your network drive. Is it by media content (e.g. separate folders within /users/music/itunes/ folder such as Music, TV Shows, Movies, etc.)? Or are the various media types all lumped within a single iTunes Music Folder? If there is a discrepancy between your internal and external Library configurations iTunes struggles to cope. Can't say why this is  the case, but I found that the only solution was to throoughly uninstall itunes via terminal (or using an app such as 'Amnesia'), reinstalling iTunes, and creating the library from scratch using files that are located on the external/network drive. I'm a moderately savvy programmer and I couldn't for the life of me get iTunes to build my library from an XML playlist that I modified to reflect the changed directory location of the new library on  my external, but if you are more competent and patient than I am I'm convinced that the proper alteration of the Master library build would result in a seamless relocating of you media library as far as itunes is concerned. One last thing, make sure you click the 'I'll Add files myself later' option if you do choose to reinstall itunes just to cover your bases. sorry i can't give you a more helpful response--iTunes is a cruel mistress sometimes.

  • Itunes match and computer authorization

What is this message about? When trying to authorize my computer......for the 50th time, so that I could turn on itunes match, a popup says that I can use iTunes Match on this computer with just one ID for 90 days. I can not associate this computer with another ID for 88 days.
I am very unhappy with Apple. I own several Apple products, and the Apple ID issue is a major pain in the ***. I had to create a 2nd ID because I was told I would lose all my iTunes purchases unless I made my ID name into my email address. But I had purchases under the ID name and some under the email address.
Things have gotten worse since I created a second Apple ID. iTunes and Match problems, billing, aggravation, confusion.

I had a similar problem. I can't answer the 'why' part of your question, but I solved my problem by burning the song to a cd, importing it, and using the imported version in my project.
    Good luck.

  • Why do i have duplicate songs in most of my albums? using iTunes match, use computer to charge phone, it must have synced now have double songs

I think when i was charging my iphone and syncing iphoto, itunes synced.  i never check the box that says "synce itunes when iphone connected' but this box somehow was checked. now i have double music, taking up a lot of space.  Having to manually remove all the duplicate songs.  this is the third time this has happened. I do not have the time to sit and manually do this.  Can anyone tell me why this is happening and is there an easier fix?  could turn off itunes match and turn it back on again, but then have to redownload my music individually, which is also time consuming.

I had the exact same issue!! Seriously p*ssed me off when I checked out my ITunes purchased items (via my computer) and noticed that most of the additional tracks listed on my IPhone playlist was listed there too. However, I never authorized any purchases!!  (I have actually written Apple Support asking for a full refund of all tracks listed on my purchased list)
Be careful when you swipe your finger to the left/right on those "additional" tracks on your IPhone playlist... I'm pretty sure that the cloud symbol is an option to download or automatically buy those tracks.
    Solution for the problem:
1 - go to your IPhone settings
    2 - choose "iTunes & App Store"
3 - go to "Show All" & "Music"
4 - turn off "Music" by moving the bar to the left (it should be a white color once you turn it off)
    Should solve your problem :~)

  • ITunes Match songs on library with external drive

    Hi,
I have all my music on an external drive (and my library files on the internal drive). I activated iTunes Match so I can listen to my music when the drive is not present. iTunes Match activated succefully and I see all my music on my iPhone. But when I launch iTunes without the external drive present and I try to play a song it just prompts me to locate the missing file and it doesn't give me the option to play it from the cloud. Is this fuctionality not supported or am I doing something wrong? Thank you in advance.

As Jim says not all DRM-restricted tracks will be eligible to be "matched." If you bought them from the iTunes Store then they will still be "purchased" and the only way the DRM can be removed is to burn them to an Audio CD and import them to the iTunes library again. However, this does not guarantee they will then be "matched" either.
To see the iCloud Status of any tracks switch to Song view in iTunes and pull down View > View Options and select "iCloud Status" then close the small window. The tracks that are still DRM-restricted will most likely be either "purchased" or "uploaded."

  • ITunes match in shared library

When my kids were young, I bought each of them an iPod.  I set up iTunes accounts for each of them and gave them a monthly allowance to buy music.  I created a shared library on our home Mac and we each sync our iOS devices to it.  Over time our music library has grown (over 50GB) and has music from three different apple ID's (my son's, my daughter's and mine).
Now that the kids are going off to college, I would like for all of us to continue to share our library (it has helped prevent buying multiple copies of songs over the years).  I think iTunes match is a great solution to being geographically separated.
My question is this.  Can I upload our shared iTunes library from the home Mac and enable all 3 of us to access it?  Or does each apple ID in our shared library require a separate iTunes match?
    Thanks
(Our home Mac runs OS 10.7 and all our iphones run iOS 5.1)

Rentals are not shared from iTunes in the usual sense.
The rental can only live on one device at a time to prevent one copy being used on multiple machines.
You therfore have to transfer the rental to AppleTV from iTunes - I haven't done it recently but you do it through iTunes under a rentals tab (? under movies).
You can move the movie back or say to an iPod to continue watching if you don't finish it on the TV.

  • Can you Download all Songs from ITunes Match onto Computer without having to click every cloud

I am preparing to cancel my iTunes match service as I have moved from Australia to the UK and want the UK iTunes store but I cannot transfer over untill ITunes Match is canceled and before I do this I want to put all cloud music onto my ITunes and wondered if there was a quick way to do this. I don't want to click on every cloud icon.
    iTunes is the PC version

Go to Edit > Select All. This will select all the songs in your library. Then right-click and select "Download."

  • ITunes Match changing status on purchased songs

I hope some one can help. The other day I found out that my iTunes Match was off. When I turned on I started doing the same thing it did when I first used it. I didn't mind at moment. Later I notice that some of the songs I purchased previously started showing up as uploaded instead of purchased or matched. Beside that everytime I add a new song to my library they never get matched even thought it was purchased on the iTunes Store. This all happen after I upgrade the iTunes to 11.0.2. Now iTunes doesn't give the option of deleting songs from the iCloud instead now they get hide. How can I fix this? Is there a way of erasing all uploaded songs from the iCloud? I understand that I can't delete all songs from iCloud since the matched ones actually come straight from Apple. But what about the uploded ones?
    Thanks

    Hi,
If you want to try to get purchased status back, delete the tracks from your library and move to trash, select hide in cloud.
Now go to the iTunes Store, select purchased and download the tracks again. If the tracks were previously protected AAC, they may no longer be available in store and wil be uploaded.

I tried everything but I always get this message. A bit annoying... Basically, do not suscribe to Itunes Match if you plan to move abroad !
