ITunes match completes step 1 and hangs on step 2

Up until the evening of June 10th, Itunes match has worked great.  Nothing new that I can think of but it will no longer comiplete the matching process, completes step 1 and hangs on step 2 for hours and hours.
Reboot
turn off Itunes match and turn back on
turn off Genious and turn back on.
Nothing has worked so far.
Running Mavericks on a 2009 Imac with latest version of Itunes.  Cant figure out how to get help as Itunes match is not listed as an option for support just Itunes and The Itunes store.
sure could use some advice that does not include trashing my library.
I have about 6,000 tracks in my Match library.

  • HT5085 iTunes Match keeps freezing and crashing on step 3

Just signed up to iTunes Match. 8100 songs. all seem to upload - step two finishes. Then get to step 3 and iTunes stops responding error message etc. When restart iTunes it begins upload from part way through - different number song each time e.g. 6100, 5800 etc. Most up to date iTunes. Thoughts please - not very impressed as this has been going on for four days and am wondering what's the point if it is this much hassle. I might as well sync with iPod or use web based software to access NAS drive along with some microsoft software!!
    Any suggestions?

Several of the crashes are from flash player. You can try disabling flash protected mode:
go to "about:config" in the address bar and paste "dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable-protected-mode" in the search box. Double-click on the result that appears to set it to true.

  • Why does itunes match get stuck on the 2nd step and then cause itunes to crash?

hello. I have been having an odd and annoying problem with itunes match for the past few months. Everytime I launch itunes, match comes on and starts working but then crashes in the second step. It says that it is matching my songs with the songs in the itunes store and when it gets to about 4500 out of 4600, it stops and then a pop up comes up that says itunes has stop working and it needs to close. In addition, i just tried to add some new music to my library and it's cloud status is "waiting" and will not change. Oddly, A few of the songs did load (only 7 out of 48). I have tried restarting the computer and updating match in the itunes store. I even uninstalled itunes and redownloaded it. This is getting rather frustrating and help would be very much appreciated. Thanks

    YES.
I posted a question about this in another thread and it got no responses.
    It's not the internet connection.
I also have an iPhone 4. My Match library is quite large.
When it gets hung up like this, you can look at the download status in the iTunes Store app and it will show "Processing..." as the status on those stuck files. The others just sit and wait.
If you delete the stuck downloads, it won't successfully download those files (not for me at least) unless you restart your phone.
I don't have the answer, unfortunately.

Anyone having the same problem?  After 3 hours stuck on the same song, I hit stop and started the process again.  Same problem all over again.

How to Fix Step 2 and Step 3 Errors in iTunes: Music Media Formats, and Checking Firewall
This solution assumes that you do not have corruption in your iTunes library database. To fix that follow the steps in Apple Support KB ht1251 above.
Step 1, 2, or 3 Hangs: Problems with Media Formats.
If you have heterogenous media formats in your music files, some of them will FAIL iTunes match, causing it to hang. This is a software error in iTunes match, which should mark the files as "Not eligible" instead of remaining stuck in an endless loop. These errors never occur if all the songs in the music library are unprotected AAC 256 kbps music files encoded by iTunes 10.5.1.
There are two basic ways to upgrade your song media formats to iTunes 10.5.1 AAC encoding - encode all of them at once, or do them selectively. In either method, you must delete the original version from iTunes and your file system. If you previously loaded them to iCloud, get rid of them there also.
You will be able to see a hung file in OS/X under Activity Monitor -> iTunes -> Inspect Process -> Open Files and Ports. In Windows you will have to use standard Task Manager inspections.
In my iTunes library, I found that certain AAC (m4a) files which were encoded in before 2011 were stuck, and m4p Protected AAC files. I had already fixed the encoding of MP3s, so I was suprised that music previously encoded by iTunes was hanging up.
You may convert all files which were not encoded at 256 kbps AAC with a right-mouse click. Find them:
    1) individually in iTunes as you discover them in Open Files and Ports trace, or
    2) by creating a sort smart playlist that matches their pattern. For example, a playlist with bit-rate < 256k.
After converting them, you MUST delete the previous file(s) from your iTunes library. I suggest you move the actual file to trash, and delete the trash. Archive the files if you wish. If any of them were already matched to iTunes Match, you must delete them there also.
After getting rid of older media formats, re-run iTunes match. Step 2 should complete, and your Open Files and Ports window should no longer show any music file open in your iTunes library. If it does show, convert it and remove the old file from your library.
If you have converted your music library and Step 3 is still stuck, it is likely a Firewall problem. Check the last line in Open Files and Ports, and use the information in the last rows to check your firewall settings. The upload port is shown in this form, 192.168.1.1:53089->72.21.214.201:https. If you see this type of row, but nothing is being uploaded, a firewall or other issue is blocking that port.
In my case the block was created by my broadband modem settings. Check with the installation guide for your modem - typically they can be managed by a http:// address such as http://192.168.1.254. Change the firewall settings as needed.

  • ITunes Match completely freezes iTunes at opening

So, I just upgraded to iTunes Match last night, and then iTunes got stuck at step one for over 5 hours, and I had to reset my computer for another program, so I did so. Now, my iTunes automatically connects to the iTunes store to do the whole iTunes Match stuff and freezes within two seconds of the program being open, and that is not an exaggeration.
I have no idea what to do. I have no way of accessing ANY of my music now, and I spent $25 on a program that freezes the entire application. I am so frustrated and I have absolutely no idea what to do.
    All help is appreciated.

UPDATE: I've managed to get the 13" MBP working by removing my iTunes folder completely and letting iTunes sync from scratch. Bizarrely though, all the songs from iTunes Match are showing up, even though according to the menu iTunes match is still off! I don't know what they have done in iTunes 11, but it is a mess. But at least I can access all my songs. Unfortunately, I can't do the same on the other two machines because they contain songs that aren't matched.
They are also still running iTunes 10.7. I downgraded my rMBP because it screwed up Podcasts and importing files from CD.

  • ITunes Match - start over and over

Every time I upgrade iTunes I lost my iTunes Match. It says that there was an error in iTunes Match, log out and log back in. When I log back in, I am invited to start iTunes Match and it goes through the whole process again of gathering information, matching the songs, etc. etc. This is clearly wrong.

Hi Jim, thanks for the response. In answer to your questions,
    - I do not sign out of Match prior to closing iTunes
    - The Match process seems to be ongoing at intervals throughout the given day and while it's not in the "background" as I wish it was, I try not to pay attention to what it's doing. Therefore I would need to guess that there are many, many times I close iTunes when the "current" Match process is underway and not complete.
    - Yes, thanks for asking about the "Waiting" tracks. Yes, there are many and they remain as "Waiting" even after Match tells me its work here is through.
    - My internet connection varies, currently 7.59 down / 22.81 up.

  • Im trying to put music on my iphone. when i click music all it says is "itunes match is on" and only lets me click a box that says "sync voice memos" what do i do

Im trying to put music on my iPhone, when i click music all kt says is itunes match is on and has a box for me to click sync voice memos nothing else what do i do

Correct.  When you purchase devices, they would have stated the OS they needed to work, on the box.  This can be overlooked, but it is very important to check when purchasing.
You current OS, is so old, that they technology build into the new devices, is not something your OS understands.  It didn't exist when your OS was created, and therefore you need to upgrade the OS to work with the newer technology of these devices.
10.6 software is not downloadable.  You must purchase a DVD disc.  You can order it from the on-line apple store

  • From Reference Step and To Reference Step

When you use the fields : From Reference Step and To Reference Step in the pricing procedure how can I now in which cases the conditions will be added or multiplied so that I can avoid using subrutines ?
    For example:
    step 100---Z001   100
    step 101---Z002   2
    Z003 (VK11 maintaned with percentage 2.5% ) from = 100 to = 101
    result Z003 = (100 + 2 ) * 2.5
    Kind Regards.

    Hi David,
Which conditions to be added comes from the business requirement. with the help of 'from-to' step i think you cant multiply the condition types.
how can I now in which cases the conditions will be added .
    Suppose:
    100     0     PR00     Price
    200     0     JMAN     Manual Excise     100     190
    300     0     UTXJ     Tax Jurisdict.Code     100     190
    350     0     JMOD     A/R Basic Excise     200
    375     0          Base Prices     100     190
    400     0     JEX2     A/R Basic Excise     350
    450     0     JAED     A/R Add. Excise duty     100     190
    475     0          Base prices + BED     375     400
    500     0     JEXA     A/R AED     450
    520     0     JSED     A/R Special Exc.duty     100     190
    525     0          Base Price + BED + AED     475     500
    540     0     JEXS     A/R sED     520
    550     0     JCES     A/R Cess     100     190
    575     0          Base Price BEDAED+SED     525     540
If you analyse the example, for calculating JMAN/UTXJ 100-190, all the prices/discounts would be added up.The base prices/discounts and excise duties are all added up to calculate sales taxes such as CST?VAT.

  • ITunes Match fails to upload songs in Step 3

This is an update to my earlier post on this problem.
During Step 3, when iTunes Match is supposed to upload non-iTunes Store music and artwork, it fails for an unknown reason and repatedly attemps the process all over again. This continues until aborted by the user.
After several months of frustrated tinkering, one of the iTunes Senior Advisors, suggested a solution that did solve the probelm. The solution is to limit the upload speed of the router to something less than 3 Mbps. Apparently, with high speed uploads either the iTunes Match server or iTunes itself cannot cope with the data flow and the upload process crashes with no indication to the user. While this solved my problem and my approximately 1,500 songs eventually uploaded, it did take more than 10 hours. But its done and my compete library is now on iTunes Match.
I pointed out to Apple that this solution was, in my opinion, a serious flaw in the iTunes Match offering and that Apple needs to address the problem.
My ISP provider is Comcast and I typically get download speeds of 28 Mbps and upload speeds of 5 Mbps. Obviously the 5 Mbps is too fast for the iTunes Match ecosystem. I was able to adjust the upload speed by changing the QoS settings of my Linksys router and giving iTunes a priority over other apps.
Hopefully this post helps out others with the saem problem.

The -2114 error, typically occurs when trying to download / stream an uploaded Song file.  The error tends to be intermittant and may simply indicate a failing server in the Apple infrastructure.
Local action, wait for a period and re-try - usually successful - once working, ensure you download and backup a secure local version - or simply restore a good version from existing local backup.
