  • ITunes match starts Step 3 and then goes back to Step 1, repeatedly

I have close to 12,000 songs in my library, and I've been using iTunes Match for quite a while with no serious problems.
Today I added some new music, most of which was dutifully matched, but there are still about a dozen songs in Waiting status.  iTunes Match goes through Steps1, and 2, and then on Step 3 it says 'Uploading "song"' for about 5 seconds, and then it goes back to Step 1.  It has been doing this over and over and over for the last hour or so.
Any idea what the problem could be?

I have a case open with Apple on this, and they just escalated it.
For what it's worth, I deleted all the stuff I just added in order to get iTunes Match out of the loop.  Then I took one of the albums I was trying to add, and re-added it - same problem.  So I deleted it and re-added it - same problem.  Then I deleted and re-added it a third time, and it went through.
I'll let you all know what Apple tells me.

  • ITunes match completes step 1 and hangs on step 2

Up until the evening of June 10th, Itunes match has worked great.  Nothing new that I can think of but it will no longer comiplete the matching process, completes step 1 and hangs on step 2 for hours and hours.
    Reboot
turn off Itunes match and turn back on
turn off Genious and turn back on.
    Nothing has worked so far.
Running Mavericks on a 2009 Imac with latest version of Itunes.  Cant figure out how to get help as Itunes match is not listed as an option for support just Itunes and The Itunes store.
sure could use some advice that does not include trashing my library.
I have about 6,000 tracks in my Match library.

Hi.  We have another thread going on this topic here:  https://discussions.apple.com/message/26083187#26083187
Lots of people are having this same issue.

  • ITunes deletes my iPhone 4 apps, then crashes and doesn't work

Yes, my music library contains 70 gb of music, which I've spent years collecting, rating and making playlists with etc. Everytime I try and synch with my iPod it tells me the L: drive is not available, but after a few attempts it synchs everything. I try the same with iPhone 4 and iTunes deletes all the apps and then crashes.
When I reopen iTunes it hangs my PC. I reboot again and it attempts to reload all 70 gb by reading the XML file, which is corrupt by this point, and has to go through each track to reassociate it to iTunes. Then the procedure starts all over again - I attempt to synch my iPhone and it breaks again. AAAAAARGH.
I'm at the end of my tether. I've spent too many hours attempting to fix this problem.

i should've also mentioned that none of these problems occurred until after in tried syncing up to itunes on my pc. I've tried normal stuff like turning off/on, etc. have not done a hard reset for fear of losing everything on my phone. Don't really know what to do.

  • HT204406 iTunes Match is not working.  It crashes repeatedly at the third step.  Any resolutions out there?

I just purchased Match and it is not working properly.  It repeatedly crashes at the third step, closed the program, and doesn't recognize my computer when I restart.  I have to authorize and sign in all over again each time.  Has anyone found a resolution to this problem?  Thanks.

Hi guys - yep that is eactly the problem - I have Macbook pro and Apple TV, they are connected okay, all of my other details are okay but I cannot synch with iTunes match and I am having problems synching up my music acrosss my devices.
    I also get the same messages;
"We could not complete your iTunes Store request.
    The network connection was lost.
There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later."

  • ITunes Match completely freezes iTunes at opening

So, I just upgraded to iTunes Match last night, and then iTunes got stuck at step one for over 5 hours, and I had to reset my computer for another program, so I did so. Now, my iTunes automatically connects to the iTunes store to do the whole iTunes Match stuff and freezes within two seconds of the program being open, and that is not an exaggeration.
I have no idea what to do. I have no way of accessing ANY of my music now, and I spent $25 on a program that freezes the entire application. I am so frustrated and I have absolutely no idea what to do.
    All help is appreciated.

UPDATE: I've managed to get the 13" MBP working by removing my iTunes folder completely and letting iTunes sync from scratch. Bizarrely though, all the songs from iTunes Match are showing up, even though according to the menu iTunes match is still off! I don't know what they have done in iTunes 11, but it is a mess. But at least I can access all my songs. Unfortunately, I can't do the same on the other two machines because they contain songs that aren't matched.
They are also still running iTunes 10.7. I downgraded my rMBP because it screwed up Podcasts and importing files from CD.

  • ITunes match completed on computer but wont work on iPhone...Please help!

I have an interesting situation. I have a developers license (if only to get iOS for my iPhone before anyone else does.... lol). Before the public launch of the iOS 5 and iTunes Match and iCloud, I set up a "Developer ID". Match worked beautifuly for me then, as well as iCloud etc... Now that the public release is out, I have migrated my old me.com (my main account) account over to a new 'iCloud' account. I paid my $24.95 or whatever for iTunes Match.... AGAIN.... And set forth 'matching' my music with iTunes. It completed on my computer, however now my iPhone will not see the music in the cloud. I have not yet tried this on any of my other Apple devices, as I assume the same thing will happen on all of them.
    Things I have tried:
Turning everything on and off (several times)
Turning icloud on and off on my phone (several times)
Signing in using my developer ID... Then signing in using my main login.
I have put my main ID in every spot I can think of on my phone... email/iCloud/App Store/Home sharing/iTunes store
I have downloaded previous purchases using the iTunes store to try and "Jar" it and make it see the rest of my music.
I am at a loss and would love to know if anyone else has had this issue and how they fixed it.
    Christian
Thank you so much for your help ahead of time!

    Please help.... No Ideas?!?!?!

  • Help - Faded grey songs that can't be played on my iOS devices even after iTunes Match completed update?

I've had iTunes Match over a year and have uploaded nearly 25k songs.
90% are successfully in the cloud but some albums are a faded grey when I try to access them on my iphone/tablet. I can't play then of download them with iTunes Match turned on on these devices.
I've repeatedly clicked to update iTunes match on my computer and watch it complete the process, yet these albums just don't work on my iOS devices.
When I check on iTunes some have the "!" Icon saying couldnt upload but there's no reason they shouldn't...what gives and what can I do?
    Thanks in advance

The iPod backup that iTunes makes does not inlcuded synced media like apps and music. Thes those iTunes are not restored to the iPod unless they are in the iTunes library.
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • I have just started using itunes match.  Steps 1

I've just started using imatch.  Seps 1 & 2 have gone fine -- but it has got totally stuck at step 3, the uploading bit -- at 209/693.  What should I do now?

    Hi,
If it has stalled. I suggest that you go to match tab and stop match process. Now go to menu > store and select update iTunes match.
    Does this help?

  • ITunes Match - Completing Library

Is there any way to complete the library by eliminating low bit rate tracks and uploads that should have been matches?
Having resolved ineligible tracks (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3623151) and inconsistent results (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3629795) there are two categories of tracks that would be great to resolve, notably:
    (1)  Low bit rates tracks:  These are listed in a smart play list showing all songs with a bit rate less than 256.  Many of the tracks listed can easily be found in the iTunes Store, hence they should 'match' allowing a download at 256 - how can this be achieved?
    Example:
    (2)  Uploaded tracks: These are listed in a smart play list showing songs with an iCloud Status of uploaded.  The majority of these tracks are also readily found in the iTunes Store, several being exact matches for entire albums but for some reason iTunes Match did not identify the match - how can this be resolved?
    Example:
With these as the last two areas to resolve, iTunes Match will have successfully converted my full library.  Any suggestions very much appreciated?

Worth looking again at the current description of service, it reads:
"Here’s how it works: iTunes determines which songs in your collection are available in the iTunes Store. Any music with a match is automatically added to iCloud for you to listen to anytime, on any device. Since there are more than 20 million songs in the iTunes Store, chances are your music is already in iCloud. And for the few songs that aren’t, iTunes has to upload only what it can’t match. Which is much faster than starting from scratch. Once your music is in iCloud, you can stream and store it to any of your devices. Even better, all the music iTunes matches plays back from iCloud at 256-Kbps AAC DRM-free quality — even if your original copy was of lower quality."
Given this many of the requests for support are naturally focused on how to complete a reasonable matching exercise.  Currently approximately 8% of my library is not successfully matched, hence the number of files 'uploaded'.
If the service simply said 'whilst matching can never be wholly accurate we anticipate that the majority of your library should be matched provided that the songs are held in the iTunes Store' many folk would simply accept the partial matching as a feature of the service.
For as long as this is not made clear it is a source of frustration for many that apparently clear matches are not succeeding.  A further example from my only library is provided below:
    Example:
Here in the first album by Phil Collins we can see all tracks are successfully matched.  In the second album many are successfully matched but 4 of 15 are uploaded.  Looking at the iTunes Store Phil Collins Serious Hits... Live! is shown as a current album.
    iTunes Store entry:
The suggestion, flagged by Keith, that Apple might offer a 'force upload option' - or mine that Apple might offer a 'discretionary match option' would prove very helpful in resolving these apparent anomalies.
Having made these points it has to be said that iTunes Match overall does represent a superb service, it is simply let down by the current description which over promises.

  • After updating to iTunes 11.1.2 constantly hanging then crashing

I am no longer able to use 64-bit iTunes at all on Windows 7 64-bit. I downloaded and installed the latest version and now cannot access any of my content. I am constantly receiving "Unable to load class data" errors, then iTunes hangs and eventually crashes. I occassionaly receive messages that the "Bonjour Service" is not running, but when I go to the Services Console, it always shows Bonjour as running. I need assistance immediately. I am even willing to pay for support but cannot even find a phone number nor email address to obtain such help from Apple. I have reset, uninstalled, re-installed, and repaired iTunes with no success. Please, somebody HELP!

  • Itunes stops working when on podcasts then crashes

Every time itunes starts (it is on the podcast section) it rapidly freezes then stops working. If I immediately switch to another section or store, it lasts longer.  Something is wrong with the podcast section.
I have followed all the guides on uninstalling all components, then reinstalling:  twice.
I can't do much to check on whether one of my many podcasts might cause this, I have to act rapidly before it crashes, all I have been able to do is switch off automatic download and select manual refresh of podcasts.  I have tried starting in safe mode:  same issue.
Windows 7 64 bit and latest itunes
(p.s. so frustrated:   is there an alternative desktop app for podcasts?)

I've gotten the same problem lately. I've never seen it before iTunes 12, but I'm not sure if it started with 12.1.1 or not...
I've tried all the proposed workarounds in iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues - Apple Support
    , but even with:
    - Remove all Apple software, then reinstall
    - Remove my user prefs
    - Create new library
    - Unsubscribed from all podcasts from my devices
As soon as I try to subscribe to a podcast in iTunes on Windows, the app crashes.
Next time I start iTunes I have no subscriptions and "Sync podcast subscriptions and settings" is not set and if I try to subscribe again I get another crash...

  • ITunes crashes when trying to sync photos, I have called Apple suport and I have erased and reloaded itunes, seemed to work better but then crashed again in the middle of sync photos saying ' IPAD cannot be synchronized. The file required cannot be found'

This seems to be a common problem...can anyone help?

Have you tried deleting the photo cache from your computer and then re-trying the photo sync ? The location of the cache, and how to delete it, is on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314
