ITunes Match crash on Windows 7 pc

Hello,
Anyone who could assist me with iTunes crashing when on step 2 from iTunes Match on Windows 7 64bit? I have reinstalled iTunes, no effect. I have taken the error tracks out as suggested in a forum, didn't help. Of course I prefer not to format and reinstall Windows as I just did it last week because of some other software issues.
Every time I restart iTunes I manage to get about 200 songs past the last crash point but since I have 20000 songs I can't keep on doing this.
Thanks!

+I think it may depend on lots of factors, processor, ram, music collection,+
I agree with Miles on this. 1 minute sounds kind of long for 8GB, but if you have a lot of other programs open as well, I can see that.
Also, if you have security software, it might be scanning itunes when it starts up and that could add time.

I've been using iTunes Match for quite some time now but the last few weeks, maybe longer, it crashes at step 3 where it tries to upload anything that wasn't automatically matched.  There are only 2 songs that it tries to upload, but each time it crashes.  This is the error report:

If you know the one track that is causing a crash delete it from the iTunes library by highlighting it and typing Option+Delete on the keyboard. In the dialog choose the option to "keep files."

Why do I have so many unmatched songs? Does changing the Album, Artist, Song information (which I often do because I don't really like the classical music descriptors automatically provided) make the title unmatchable?
Because the matching process is not 100% accurate; or you have an older mastering of an album that did match to what is in the store; or something in your library is not availble in the store. In short your library simply will not "match" 100%. There will be a percentage that must be uploaded.

  • ITunes Match crashes while at step 3.

iTunes Match crashes while at step 3. Uploading artwork and remaining songs. Steps1 and 2 complete successfully but at step 3 I immediately get an error message saying iTunes has encountered a problem and must shut down. Has anyone else experienced this or know of a solution ?

I Have the same issue, has only just started doing it, I've stripped the drive or all junk, plenty of room on the drive to process. iTunes also goes through the checking loop every time I start itunes, again this is recent. Running XP SP3
    any ideas?

  • ITunes match crashes my iTunes (OS X 10.9.3 (13D65))

iTunes match crashes my iTunes every time it starts.
    OS X 10.9.3 (13D65)
It deauthorised my iPhone when I was abroad and deleted all my music from it duaring vocations!

it crashes every time even if iTunes match is off.
And my iPhone can't download my music still. What's happaning?!

  • Itunes match crashes itunes in windows 8

Hi. Just signed up for iTunes Match and went to sync all of my items with it. Every attempt to sync my music with iTunes to the cloud results in an inevitable crash of iTunes. i have restarted the computer, restarted iTunes, reinstalled iTunes, but not luck completing the task. i make ti almost uploading all of my info and about to handle the artwork, etc. and iTunes crashes and shuts down.
I do not know how to fix this and would like to try to do so. If i cannot get the service to work, i would at least like the cost of the service refunded.

I have been fighting this for awhile.  At first I thought I was having a networking problem but what I have found is that iTunes cannot write to a Windows 8 or Server 2012 share.  It is also very flaky when installed directly on the machine. Here is what I have learned.
iTunes in a windows 7 virtual machine = Cannot write to server 2012 share
iTunes in a windows 8 virtual machine = Cannot write to server 2012 share and becomes unstable with a local library.
iTunes in server 2012 = instant crash
I understand Apple does not support iTunes 10.7 on windows 8, but this seems strange.  I would have assumed that installing iTunes on a windows 7 machine and targeting a library on a server 2012 share would work, but it crashes waiting for a network response anytime it tries to write to the library or download anything.
People seem to think iTunes 11 will work.  I guess we will find out.
BTW - When iTunes crashes it makes the machine and then server virtually unusable.  The only way to recover is to remove the network connection to the machine with iTunes.  This will bring both machines back and let you reboot normally.

  • ITunes Match crashes during 3rd step when uploading songs to the iCloud

    Hello There,
I have just one issue with iTunes Match which causes me to be slightly skeptical, although it is such an amazing way to listen to music ect.
I have about 15000 songs and most of them were added on the iCloud, however only around 200 still needed to be added manually on the iCloud. The issue appears right after the second step where the songs starts uploading. All of a sudden iTunes just crashes and asks me to close the program.
Just to add I am using a dell desktop PC with windows 7, and everything is up to date including latest updates of the iTunes.
What can I do to sort this issue out, so the rest of my music can be added to the iCloud without having iTunes to crash during uploads?

    hi,
    See this link.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4914
I have read elsewhere that some people have used match with XP successfully but they were having more and more problems with each upgrade of iTunes.
Have you tried removing the tracks that are still waiting to be matched or uploaded. There may a track that is causing the problem. Once you have removed outstanding track update imatch. If this works, gradually add the tracks back a few at a time.

  • Itunes match crashed in the middle of upload, how do I get back in?

I bought ITunes match and started uploading music, but ITunes crashed along the way.  I logged out and back in.  But I am being prompted to buy ITunes match again and authorize my computer again.  How do I get back in and continue the upload where it left off?  It had taken at least 5 hours already, and I don't want to start all over.

Not sure if this will restore the tabs but worth a try.
From the Safari menu bar click History > Reopen All Windows from Last Session
Emptying the Safari cache more often might help the spinning beach ball.
Back to the menu bar, click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select:   Show Develop menu in menu bar
Back to the menu bar again, click Develop > Empty Caches
You can also empty the cache by pressing Command + Option + E.
There's a free Safari extension that might come in handy for you. It's called Glims.
Install from here >  Glims for Safari | www.MacHangout.com
Once it's installed, you can access the settings from Safari > Preferences > Glims
    Select General on the left.
Swtich on:   Restore Tabs at launch

  • After latest update itunes match crashed with empy library

After being a little late i finally updated itunes to the latest version (on windows 8.1), now itunes keeps crashing when it connects to itunes match (from an empty library all music is in cloud)
Tried a lot of solutions here like:
hold shift and create new library
delete all itunes related files and re install
    disable firewall and anti virus
I cant look for corrupted files, since there arent any songs on this laptop.
Anyone has any idea what solution i might be missing? Problem starts seconds after syncing an empy library to itunes match

  • ITunes match crashing at step 3. Win7 x64 iTunes v10.6.3.25

I'm having the same problem as so many other people it seems - part of my library is matched and now I'm stuck with a constantly-crashing iTunes when it gets to step 3. I've checked for zero-length files or tracks where the track length is invalid - all clear. Checked for tracks that have their match status showing as 'error' - don't have any of those. I've really come to a dead end here - any other tips or advice?
I spent a while using sysinternals process monitor to see if I could find the source of the problem and it was always tripping up on a certain track recently ripped from CD (using iTunes). So I deleted that track and it crashed again but on a different track. After a while it became clear that it was all my long tracks that are causing the problem - and I have several hundred tracks that are over an hour long - DJ mixes, mix albums, stuff like that. Given that I'm not going to delete all these tracks (as I don't have sources to many of them any more) just to get iTunes match to work, is there any way I can flag these ones as "don't match" so they get skipped? Or any way I can take the remaining short tracks and force iTunes to manually match those?
Or am I just S.O.L until Apple admit there's a problem with very long tracks, and try to fix it?

I don't see the long tracks as being a problem.  If the tracks file size is below 200mb then they will upload but will take sigficantly longer.  I have A LOT of long tracks.  Some as long as 2 hours long but the file size is below 200mb.  If your file sizes are larger than that they will become ineligible.  You can change this by change your import settings and picking the create acc version under the advanced tab. I haven't noticed a lot of different things that may cause things to glitch up in my experience.  I've don't about 6 different people's match accounts and windows seems to give a lot more problems than MAC does.  Which would seem about right given that this an apple product.  But if you will try taking your tracks that are messing it up and let itunes create a new acc version match will probably accept it.
There is no way to flag anything and tell iTunes match not to upload it.  If it is in the library then it will try to be uploaded.  There also is no way to force iTunes match to upload certain songs without doing all of them.  If it seems that iTunes match is crashing then just restart is and see if it is a certain song and try the creating a new file method described above and a lot times it will go ahead and upload.  as I said I have a lot of really long tracks and they all get uploaded eventually but it takes a lot longer.
You can delete the tracks out of itunes and do not press the move to recyle bin just press the keep file button and you can reimport them again later on.  You do not loose your music by deleting from itunes unless you press the button that says move to recycle bin.  Which you could get back out of the recycle bin if you don't empty it before you realize what you've done.  Always check whats in your recycle bin before you empty it.

  • Itunes match crashes at step 3 and itunes is closed automatically?

    Hi,
I'm using Itunes match via notebook with windows 7 for the first time.
At step 3 (after around 490 from 1840), Itunes crashes and closes with an error notification
saying that I should make an Itunes update.
The problem is that I have the latest version loaded.
    What can I do?

In the iTunes Songs view enable the iCloud Status and iCloud Download fields.  Sort on these fields to identify the problem Songs - do search this forum for issues with Step 3 you will find many explanations on likely cause and remedy - typically archiving Songs (removing from your library to separate storage) with any questionable status indicated by the iCloud fields will allow you to complete the Matching process.

  • Itunes keeps crashing with windows 7

iTunes 7 keeps crashing on windows 7. please help.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • ITunes Match crashing iTunes during step 2

iTunes keeps crashing during step 2 of the iTunes Match process.  Re-installed both iTunes and Yosemite with no luck.  Also, tried turning Itunes Match off and back on.  No Luck.  This all started after I updated to Yosemite.

    Hi,
First stop match process. Add iCloud status column to song view - go to menu > view > view options and tick box. This column will tell you what has been matched, uploaded, purchased, duplicate, ineligible and more importantly waiting. You should find this 'waiting' tracks - looks like 14. Delete them from library but don't move to trash. Now select 'update iTunes match' from store menu. If process completes try readding those tracks.
