ITunes match creates YOG playlists. What is this?

I have thousands of Yog playlists populating automatically. I have no idea where they come from. Would love any thoughts or feedback.

Sorry but I'm a newbie using this community and when I search for "Yog" I only see your post. I am not seeing other results for this issue. If you could refer me to some links that would be greatly appreciated.

You could try emailing iTunes support, giving them your order number, etc. or you could just take the hit and pay the 99p. I know what I would do.

You can try installing 7-Zip (free), then right-click on the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe file to unpack its contents, and install AppleApplicationSupport.msi as a standalone component. It may still not install successfully, but if it doesn't you may get a more useful error message regarding the reason why.

That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

Since upgrading (?) to itunes match I know have hundreds of playlists that iIdid not create.They hav eno content in theM.
Tre all titled "Gen" and they thave slowed my itunes down to a crawl and are immposable to delete.

Yes, I suggest you do a search of the forum, or just look to the right column on this page for "more like this". You should be able to come up with postings by other people who have had the same problem, as well as some possible solutions.

ITunes Match creates hundrets of Playlists

since I use iTunes Match I have a big Problem: iTunes created more then 500 Playlists. My MacBook Air and my iPhone 4 are always stucking when I start them because they are trying to load all these lists. After more then 10 Minutes my MacBook Air shows me all the Playlists. In every Playlist are all of my Tracks (around 1000), so my Mac is very much to load. 1000 Tracks*500 Playlist is a lot stuff! Is it able to delete all of them with a trick or do I really have to delete them all seperate?

Now I downloaded a tool to delete them all with one klick. It always stucks because it counts more then 69.000 Playlists.
iTunes Match really needs to get optimised!

When I update songs in a playlist, the iTunes Match does not apply the changes. I thought that was one of the perks for subscribing to iTunes Match. Should I be doing something to help this along?

Have you found a solution? I have the exact same problem. It used to work fine though. I'm not sure if the issue is caused by iOS 6 or what but it worked for me when i did it over the summer. I tried again this week, I created a playlist on my iPad with 50 songs then the playlist title appears on my iMac but it's empty.

Help! I cannot get iTunes to update one of my playlists (I use iTunes Match). I tried turning Match off to manually sync, but the option to sync did not become available. And after one of the syncs, even with Match back on, now I have lost ALL of my playlists on my iPhone and most of the songs in my library. Thanks, Michael. I'm not sure what network you were referring to. I had my iPhone connected via USB directly to my PC. I am on Cable for internet access and have Verizon as my cellular carrier. I don't know where I would enable "use cellular network"?
ITM has updated my playlists in the past, usually within minutes of changing them. But this time, hours went by and no update. I finally manged, by rebooting iTunes after turning off ITM in both iTunes and on my phone, to get the option to sync manually to come up. So for now, I have ITM turned off, but I don't know what will happen if I turn it back on. I would like to have the listing of all my songs on my phone again for downloading as desired from my Library. But I need my playlists for teaching, so I can't afford to have them vaporize again!
Not sure I feel ITM was worth paying for with this aggravation.

So in iTunes, my client had several playslists, all with songs in a specific manual order. None of them are smart playlists.
After iTunes Match was activated, the song order seems to have changed in every playlist and on one iPhone where the same iTunes Match account was also enabled on.
We know they are in a different order as an iPod touch that does NOT have iTunes Match enabled yet still has the original order.
Just wondering what the best way to fix this would be. Should we manually drag the songs to the right order or is there a simpler way to revert to how they were ? Also would manually moving the update the order across all iTunes Match devices ?

This worked although it was very clumsy (we had almost 3,000 files that had to be deleted and redownloaded. I could not figure out a way to sort all of the 'exclamation points' together so it took an hour or so to scan through the entire library list and delete each file individually and/or in small groups.) The download was very straight forward. In my experience (with iTunes match turned on,) we did NOT loose our playcounts.
Going through all those files I noticed several common themes that may have triggered the problem: 1) multiple artists, 2) special characters in the song title, artist and/or album name - particularly umlauts (we have quite a few german songs in our library.) 3) very long title, artist and/or album names.
I hope that someone from Apple is aware of these issues and working on them....

Using itunes to create interval playlist in 2nd gen shuffle

I would like to create an interval-playlist in my 2nd generation SHUFFLE by inserting a DING or some such audible to know when the pace changes.

This isn't exactly what you wanted as that would be difficult to do exactly how you want it. But here are some suggestions for something similar.
Make a smart playlist with the following rules:
- Playlist is the playlist you have built with the 1100 songs
- Last Played is not in the last 4 days.
Use this new smart playlist to fill your iPod shuffle.
This will not removed every song, just those that have been played on your shuffle since the last time you connected if (if it was more than 4 days) or those that have been played in iTunes (or other iPod) in the last 4 days.
Or if you want have it cycle through the songs in that playlist create a smart playlist which has the rule: playlist is your original playlist, but this time limit it to 1 GB of the least recently played songs. This will definitely cycle through the songs if you play all of them on your iPod shuffle before connecting it to iTunes each time.
Tip: while the shuffle is still connected to your computer, have iTunes display the contents of the shuffle, then select Print from the File menu and print a song list (either to PDF or paper). You will have a list of all the songs on your iPod that you can refer to whenever you want to. I find it quite handy.

ITunes Match & Keeping Separate Playlists Across Devices

I use iTunes Match on my iMac and my wife's iPad. I don't want her radio stations or playlists deleting mine and vice versa. How do I fix this short of turning off iTunes match and manually putting songs on her iPad?

Bummer. I'll just have to sync her music manually on our iMac and she'll have to deal with listening to ads on iTunes Radio.
Thanks for the reply. Shame that this is still impossible to do. You'd think they could make playlists and radio channel favorites independant. It also makes it painful when she wants to buy stuff for our baby to listen to as I'll have to buy it with my account and then sync up her device(s).
