ITunes Match failed

Since I bougth iTunes Match I can't use my iTunes Store, my e-mail (@me) and iTunes match, all my songs have a message error.
I feel I lost my music my account and my money.
Apple I am very disapointed with your iCloud; it is a disaster.
How can I do to recover all my mail and my songs?

Yes, me! Me! Me!
Thanks for noticing that. I'm 99% sure you are correct that the comment field can't be used for smart playlists on match.
I'll start another thread where we can catalog which fields work and which dont.
At least the mystery is solved!

  • ITunes Match fails to match recently ripped CD. Can I avoid matching this CD?

I have a CD from a band that is not available on iTunes that I've loaded to my MacBook Pro. As expected iTunes Match can't match this album. As a result, iTunes Match fails to proceed past the third step of the matching process and continously loops. How can I stop this album from being part of the match process?

    Hi,
What format have you ripped the CD? There are problems with some ALAC and AIFF files.
If the cd is in your iTunes library, there is no way of stopping match process. Once cd has been uploaded there is a workaround to make remove the tracks from the cloud and not your library.
However, to resolve your current problem you may need to delete the tracks.

  • ITunes Match fails to upload songs in Step 3

This is an update to my earlier post on this problem.
During Step 3, when iTunes Match is supposed to upload non-iTunes Store music and artwork, it fails for an unknown reason and repatedly attemps the process all over again. This continues until aborted by the user.
After several months of frustrated tinkering, one of the iTunes Senior Advisors, suggested a solution that did solve the probelm. The solution is to limit the upload speed of the router to something less than 3 Mbps. Apparently, with high speed uploads either the iTunes Match server or iTunes itself cannot cope with the data flow and the upload process crashes with no indication to the user. While this solved my problem and my approximately 1,500 songs eventually uploaded, it did take more than 10 hours. But its done and my compete library is now on iTunes Match.
I pointed out to Apple that this solution was, in my opinion, a serious flaw in the iTunes Match offering and that Apple needs to address the problem.
My ISP provider is Comcast and I typically get download speeds of 28 Mbps and upload speeds of 5 Mbps. Obviously the 5 Mbps is too fast for the iTunes Match ecosystem. I was able to adjust the upload speed by changing the QoS settings of my Linksys router and giving iTunes a priority over other apps.
Hopefully this post helps out others with the saem problem.

The -2114 error, typically occurs when trying to download / stream an uploaded Song file.  The error tends to be intermittant and may simply indicate a failing server in the Apple infrastructure.
Local action, wait for a period and re-try - usually successful - once working, ensure you download and backup a secure local version - or simply restore a good version from existing local backup.

  • ITunes Match fails to upload songs

I am posting this as information for other hapless iTunes Match users with the same problem.
When I first subscribed to iTunes Match it successfully completed Steps 1 and 2 but failed to complete Step 3, where it uploads songs and artwork not found in the iTunes Store. The failure mechanism is that the screen "dims" and the process starts all over again. Cycling like this indefintely and never uploading any songs. However, those songs that could be matched were, and made available in iCloud for my iOS devices and Apple TV.
I have spent 4 weeks trading emails with an iTunes Senior Advisor, who reports that the engineers have told her that the issue is with Match and not my computer or songs (library). During this time my Match account was refunded so that I could try again, however, the results were the same and I have requested a second refund and will not use Match.
One of the experiments that I conducted was to create a new, and clean, iTunes Library and populate it with only six albums (to reduce testing time). Three albums were iTunes Store purchases and three were known to not be in the Store, thus had to be uploaded. Match completed its process with only the purchased albums but failed, in the manner described above, with the ones to be uploaded. Deleting iTunes preference files and having iTunes rebuild its XML library file had no effect on the problem.
Since Match obviously works for some people (but not for me) there must be an obscure issue with my libray or the Match servers, or both. Hopefully someone smarter than myself has some ideas.

  • ITunes MATCH fails to load on iPhone4 after updating to IOS 6

iTunes MATCH is failing to fully load (display) on 1 of my 2 iPhone4 telephones after updating both to IOS 6.  (My wife and I share the iTunes MATCH library using the same ID).
I have tried Signing Out and back In to iTunes, plus I have tried turning iTunes MATCH On & Off for this one iPhone 4 device, but the iTunes MATCH still fails to load.
The furtherest it ever gets is to display my previous Playlists and my Artists, Albums, etc that are in the cloud ...but the actual songs that are in the MATCH cloud never ever appear at all ...even after waiting hours!
The IOS 6 update seemed to work fine for both of our iPhone version 4 phones, but like I said above, only 1 of the phones is able to play music from iTunes MATCH now.  This previous worked fine under IOS 5.1 for almost a year.
We also own an Apple TV 2nd generation and an iMAC with OS X 10.6.x, ...and those 2 device are also able play music that we have stored in the iTunes MATCH cloud with No Problem.
The issue seems to be with only this one phone.
Has anyone else experienced this?  Does anyone have a suggested fix for this?

This helped me my repair my iPhone4's locally corrupted iTunes library (which calls my iTunes Match account) for all my music and music-video collection!  It took all of 5 minutes to repair.
    1. Google/download/install iExplorer (free program).
    2. Plug in iPad or iPhone first, then open iExplorer.
    3. Delete the iPad\Media\iTunes_Control folder's 3 Media SQL files.
    4. Turn on iCloud/match in iPhone's (iPad's) iOS settings, which replaced the iPads music library with iCloud
A big THANK YOU to Michael Allbritton for pointing my in the direction of this solution!
    Finally a note to Apple:
You will have to incorporate a way for users to view and self-repair the inner workings of their appliances if you wish to continue to sucessfully compete in this market ...remember what happened to Nokia for not forseeing the touch screen display many years ago!  I would never expect my Mother, my young wife or even my teenage son to download something like "iExplorer" and use it to delete 3 corrupted database files; therefore, dear Apple, please incorporate the self-diagnosis and repair functionality offered by an iPhone Explorer type system into your iTunes software ...or something similar to that!  Get with the program!

  • HT204406 iTunes Match fails to connect.

I am having an issue with iTunes Match.  When I launch iTunes, I get a message that iTunes Match is gathering data about my library and then one stating that iTunes is waiting for the results from Apple.  After about a minute, the process ends and begins all over again!  I never reach a point where my library is available.  The service worked fine for a few weeks, but stopped working on Monday.  Nothing has changed about my network or network settings.  I also have not performed any system updates.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You mentioned that you have OS X. Do you have issue with this as well or does it only happen on your PC.
At work, is it possible to do with your works internet set up?

  • ITunes Match fails to stream correctly. What am I doing wrong?

OK...I just signed up for iTunes match. I have about 24,000 songs in my library. While in my car, I will ask Siri "play album Machine Head". For a while all I got was a response that said, "I'm really sorry but I can't do jack right now, try later." So, I turned off Siri and turned it back on. Now, occasionally, it will say, OK, playing album Machine Head. and then immediately go into a pause mode. That's what it says on my car stereo interface. Pause. So I ask again to play the same album. Same result. Now, if I skip to the next song on the album using the advance button on my stearing wheel (Subaru Legacy), the next song will play. If I then use that control to go back, it will then play the first song.
iTunes is set to use Celluar Data. I'm on Verizon. Other Siri queries work as expected. So far iTunes Match is a waste of 25 bucks.
    thanks,
    J

    Hi...thanks for the reply.
Yes, the scan and upload has completed, as all files are available on my iPad and work on my local network ok.
    Artwork is present etc.
I guess it could be Verizon at fault, but I'd be shocked if they don't have a 3G signal anywhere I've been driving.
iTunes Radio seems to work fairly well if that's any kind of comparison.
    Thanks much,
    J

  • ITunes Match FAIL

I attempt to play one of my songs and get the following message: This computer is not authorized to play "stringofnumbersandletters.m4a". Would you like to autnorize it? The problem is that my computer is already authorized. At least that is the message I get when I input my username/password.
Sadly I run into this sort of problem a lot with iTunes Match (e.g., music refusing to download from cloud, music not appearing at all in the cloud, "not authorized," etc.).
Any help or suggestions is appreciated.
    My system is a MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3), 2.9 GHz i7; 8GB DDR3; and iTunes 11.0.2 (26) 64-bit.

First trouble shooting step is always to deauthorize the computer, log out of the iTunes store (restart your computer for good measure), then log back into the store and re-authorize the computer. You'll have to re-enable iTunes Match also.

  • ITunes Match and failing to upgrade some of my tracks

Does anyone know why ITunes Match sometimes fails to upgrade certain popular tracks to 256 AAC when it's established that the song/track exists in the Itune store?  I just completed the reorganization of my ITunes library today after using iTunes Match to upgrade the compression quality of my songs.  And out of approximately 1100 songs, iTunes Match failed to upgrade the compression quality on about a 100 of these tracks.  It's not a big deal but I do find it very interesting with popular tracks.  As just one example to make my point, Sheryl Crow's 1998 hit My Favorite Mistake was not converted from the current 128 kbps to 256.  I could list a number of others that I see in the ITunes Store.  And it doesn't make any sense.  If the song is in the ITunes store, it should be making a match with the tracks in my library.  All of my music meets the minimum compression quality to be eligible for upgrades to 256 AAC under the ITunes Match service.  Any thoughts/feedback from anyone?  Thanks.

  • Itunes match has duplicated my playlists

My Itunes match failes when trying to match songs with 8 songs left to go on my new Mac Mini but it will retry and retry and causes duplicate playlists in itunes and Icloud.
    1. How do I fix itunes Match?
    2. How do I delete Multiple Playlist quickly rather than one at a time?
    Thanks for the help

This has been on the discussion threads for a while now. Its done the same thing to me and I now have 76,127 copies and iTunes is totally unusable and takes 20minutes to just turn on. The only thing we can figure out is that it has something to do with the iPod/iPhone trying to sync when there is no network connection. Once it finally does get a network signal, it pushes all those thousands of times it tried to sync to the server at once which can cause thousands of duplicates. Once they are on the server your stuck because now they are saved on the server and you can't erase them. Many of us have been in touch with iTunes Match support but they wont answer us. The best thing to do right now is leave iTunes Match turned off. Once its off, the playlists should stay gone. You can even use this apple script to erase them for you.

  • ITUNES MATCH CONSTANT PROBLEM

I am sick of my itunes match failing and forcing me to sign in and sign out of itunes every time i start my macbook and desktop mac! what is the problem, why can it just not update the match when i open itunes? i pay for a service, i expect it to work!

    Hi,
Do you regularly clear out cookies or do you not accept cookies on Safari. iTunes cookies are stored in Safari and if they are cleared, you will be asked to sign into match each time you open iTunes.

  • ITunes Match stop to working

Hello, I have iTunes Match since July last year they are valid until July this in accordance with the information from my account.
He is paid and within the period of validity, should continue working right?
Only he does not turn over on my Macbook Pro, Iphone 5, or Ipad 1, already tried removing all links for account setup removing all my apple devices and tried to re-add them and simply does not work in iphone and ipad it enables and disables soon afterwards on the MacBook and shows error 5002, already changed my payment method updated. Has been checked and had no outstanding invoice.
I'm using the account with Brazil in Brazil
Answers in old threads did not work with me.

    Hi,
If Itunes match fails to complete its scan process and is stuck in step 2 or 3 the following steps usually clears problems:
    1. Hold option key (Mac) or shift key (PC) whilst turning of match. This clears genius/match cache.
    2. Close iTunes. Optional - Reboot computer.
    3. Open itunes and turn on match. Select "add this Computer" and see process completes.
Also try rebooting internet router if necessary.
You should also add icloud status column to song view - go to menu > view> view options and tick box. This will tell you what has been Matched, Uploaded, Purchased, Inelligible, Duplicate or Waiting.
Tracks that are Waiting may include one or more corrupt tracks. You may have to remove all Waiting tracks from your library as it is not always clear which ones are causing the problem. Large / Long tracks that will be uploaded may be the cause of the problem.
Once you have removed the tracks, follow steps 1 to 3 again and see if process completes. You can then readd the tracks, a small number at a time until all your music is added.

Hi all.  I can’t tell you how to solve your iCloud 3.x issues.  Heck, I don’t think they’re even solvable.
But if you had a previous version of iCloud that was working correctly then I can definitely tell you how to solve the “iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 7 PC” problem.  …without even a re-boot.
Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it.
Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive.  Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab.  Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.
    Open the Users folder.
    Open your user folder
    Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder)
Open the Apple folder – not the Apple Computer folder.
    Open the Installer Cache folder
In Details view sort on Name
Open the folder for the newest entry for iCloud Control Panel 2.x – probably 2.1.2.8 dated 4/25/2013
Right click on iCloud64.msi and select Install.
When finished, the synching between iCloud and your PC will be back to working perfectly as before the 3.0 fiasco.  The pictures will be synched to the same Photostream folder as before the “upgrade”.  Now all you need to do is wait until Apple/Microsoft get this thing fixed and working before you try the 3.x upgrade again.
I think the iCloud 3.0 software was written by the same folks who wrote healthcare.gov with the main difference being that healthcare.gov might eventually be made to work.
For those of you who hate to go backwards, think of it as attacking to the rear.  Which would you rather have, the frustration of no synching or everything working on an older version?
    Good luck…

  • All of my music was on a hard drive that failed. How do I download them from iTunes match to my new hard drive?

All of my music was on a hard drive that failed. How do I download them from iTunes match to my new hard drive? I know how to do it one song at a time, but I want to know if there is a way to do it for all 10,000 song files at once?

There are some recovery programs out there if you google them - many with free trials. I haven't tried them so I have no opinion.Read any professional tech and user reviews you can find before you try one. I have read here in the past that some have worked for people who have posted here.
To help in the future, have you considered using Jump Desktop - Remote Desktop? I know it won't solve the problem you're dealing with now (unless notes were taken on your computer.) It's in the app store. It's the #1 paid app in the business category and the reviews are great. It allows you to see anything that's on your computer on your ipad. If you take your notes on your ipad then you might want to email them to yourself, put them on Word in your computer, for example, and then if you need them in class, you remotely connect your ipad to your computer and you will see your notes. This way you won't have to rely so much on the cloud. The explanation would be too long here, but you might want to take a look at it. You can use the free trial on jumpdesk.com and then if it works for you, buy it in the app store.
Meanwhile, it's hours since you sent this post. Hopefully others who can help solve your problem who are on this forum now can help you. I hope you get your notes back. Don't give up too quickly.
    Hope this helps.
