The iTunes on my Mac (and my Mac Book) hangs indefinitely when it supposedly is matching. I added three music files (average 45 min. each) and cannot find a way to get them to transfer/sync to my iPad. I am at a loss as to what

Ok, disable iTunes Match while holding down the Option key (Shift for Windows) and restart your computer. Re-enable iTunes Match (click "yes" when asked to "add this computer"). This ought to clear up the glitch.

If you want to sync your iTunes library on your Mac to your iPad ....
Connect your iPad to the Mac and launch iTunes. Click on your iPad's name on the left side under the devices heading. Then click on the Music tab - and select the music that you want to transfer. Does your iTunes window look like this - with Sync Music checked and the playlists or albums checked as well like in the photo below?
When you click on the apps tab do you have Sync Apps checked and all of the apps in the window below checked to sync as well?
If you select all of the items under the different tabs in iTunes - music, apps, photos. etc. - when you sync - all of the selected content should sync over to the iPad.

The songs are playable in the music app, so there's no problem there. You didn't download the songs using iTunes on the iPad, you synced the songs from iTunes - that is the way I read your statement.
iTunes on the iPad doesn't see the songs? This is what doesn't make sense to me. Why would iTunes need to see the songs. The songs are in the music app. There is no need for iTunes to see the songs. You imported the songs from CD into iTunes - correct? The songs are in your iTunes library on the computer. Once again, there is no need for iTunes on the iPad to see the songs.
Are you talking about iTunes Match? If not, why does iTunes need to see the songs? The songs are in the Music app.

Itunes won't let me transfer new music to my iPhone 4S

I recently had an issue with Filevault and unfortunately had to have my Macbook Pro wiped clean. I have yet to transfer all of my old files from my external hard drive back on to my computer, but since then have downloaded some new music. I have been trying to sync my iPhone 4S with my computer in order to transfer music on to my phone through iTunes for the past few days and it just won't let me. I have tried troubleshooting using a few websites, and have made sure that allowing iTunes to automatically sync when I plug in my iPhone through a USB port is checked. I really would like to put new music on my phone. Please help!

I recently purchased iTunes Match. How do I delete music previously downloaded on iPad? It is just using space on my iPad now.

When I check my storage, I notice there are 5gb of music being stored on my iPad. With iTunes Match this should make storage of my music on iPad no problem. With that much music, it would be easiest to connect your iPad to your computer and via iTunes sync, manage the music on your iPad. Once your iPad is recognized in iTunes, click on the device once and your iPad will open in iTunes. Then click on Music and you have the option to check with songs, albums, artists, etc., you want on your device. Once you're done choosing the music you want, click on Apply on the bottom right hand corner, then sync so you have a current backup.
If you want to delete a song directly on your iPad, open up the Music App, WIth your finger touch and hold it on any song you want to delete, then swipe your finger to the right and a Delete box will open. Touch Delete and the song will be deleted.
