ITunes Match in an endless loop?

Recently my iTunes Match got stuck in an endless loop. It's been working well for the most part for the past year, but it just suddenly decided to stop and I'm not sure why. Basically, it goes through the first step in matching, "Gathering information about your iTunes library." The bar gets to the end and then goes to send the information to Apple, then it gets stuck on "Waiting for Apple to deliver your iTunes Match information." After that it just stops completely for a few seconds as if nothing happened, then automatically starts all over again. It just keeps doing this over and over. I tried turning Match off and on, same thing. I tried deleting the files it was attempting to match, still the same. I tried restoring the "iTunes Library.itl" file from a Time Machine backup. All don't fix the issue.

I'm having the exact same issue here. Worked GREAT on Lion, and actually worked "ok" on Mountain lion even though I had a few 4001 and 4002 problems... overall was fine. But since last week, there's nothing working. I stuck in this loop of step one and step 2 and it just never stops and since it's NEVER going to step 3, all my new songs are never uploaded. It's stops on the very LAST song, the text becomes a little grey and then it starts back to step one again and again.
I'm also getting this weird error: -9810
I tried everything I could find in the forum by turning off iTunes match, and Genius and turning it back on again... nothing is working.
Would be nice if they could fix that... because whether you like it or not, Apple made iTunes the central point of all iOS devices and if it's not working, then better find something else that would actually work.

  • ITunes Match Broken stuck in Loop

iTunes Match no longer works. It seems stuck in an loop cycle of checking and uploading my tradks. Never had this problem before the latest iTunes update.

I found this to be an "unofficial" ISP problem.  I use WOW/Knology and I read of this happening with Comcast (surprise!  surprise!).  Evidently, the iTunes Match transfer was using too much bandwidth and WOW clamped down on this.
My iTunes Match was in an endless loop.  Following all the instructions that I found about this in the support area did not resolved the issue.  I did find two answers claiming to resolve this issue.  Both mentioned "port throttling"--that is, limiting the upload speed on a specific port (https--443) or a variety of ports.  I tried the easiest and throttled port 433 to 128K max and reran iTunes Match.  It complete parts 1 and 2 easily.  iTunes Match is working on part 3 currently.  Slowly but surely--has has been working steadily for 16-18 hours now (my iTunes library is ~85GB).  (The transfer listed each file as it is being transferred.  It is interesting to see the transfer penalty of never throwing "anything" away.)
There are several port-throttling programs for the Mac.  " Entonnoir " was the one recommended and the one I am using.  It is a free download --the publisher does ask for a donation.

  • TS3297 iTunes match stuck in a loop.

iTunes Match seems to be stuck in a loop. It continually check the same songs over and over. It get to the "Upload" and doesn't complete it. Then it starts over on the same songs. I have signed out and back in, but it doesn't change anything.

    Hi,
You may have a corrupt file that is causing this problem.
If you go into song view and add iCloud status column. To do this go to menu > view > view options and tick box.
This will tell you the tracks that have matched, uploaded, purchased, duplicate or inelligible. Those that have an iCloud status of waiting may be the cause of the problem. Try deleting from library but do not move to trash. Update match and let process complete.
If successful try adding them back a small number at a time.

  • Always "Delivering your iTunes Match Result"

I have around 23.5K songs in my iTunes library, and everything works fine for me before. Now, I am going to rip some new CDs to iTunes, the new songs won't upload to iTunes Match. After I manually clicked "Update iTunes Match". It keeps looping with "Delivering your iTunes Match Result" for the whole night. Even I turn it off, and turn it on again (reset the iTunes Match result), but no luck.
I do even remove the newly ripped songs, and reset the iTunes Match result. It works without any new songs. But, after I ripped the CD again, it still keeps "Delivering your iTunes Match Result". It's sad.
    Any one has similar problem?
    Thanks.
    Regards

    Hi,
I have had this problem on a number of occasions recently.
Usually holding option key (Mac) or shift key (PC) whilst turning off match then relaunching iTunes, turning on match and selecting add this computer works.
These days I don't usually let the automatic scan kick in. If it does, I stop match then go to "Update iTunes match". Usually works but if I think it is taking too long, I stop match go to "Update iTunes match" again.
Try deleting tracks again, select  "update genius" then "Update iTunes match". Leave a short time before reripping your CD.

  • ITunes match starts Step 3 and then goes back to Step 1, repeatedly

I have close to 12,000 songs in my library, and I've been using iTunes Match for quite a while with no serious problems.
Today I added some new music, most of which was dutifully matched, but there are still about a dozen songs in Waiting status.  iTunes Match goes through Steps1, and 2, and then on Step 3 it says 'Uploading "song"' for about 5 seconds, and then it goes back to Step 1.  It has been doing this over and over and over for the last hour or so.
Any idea what the problem could be?

I have a case open with Apple on this, and they just escalated it.
For what it's worth, I deleted all the stuff I just added in order to get iTunes Match out of the loop.  Then I took one of the albums I was trying to add, and re-added it - same problem.  So I deleted it and re-added it - same problem.  Then I deleted and re-added it a third time, and it went through.
I'll let you all know what Apple tells me.

  • ITunes Match Stuck In An Endless Loop...

When I turn on iTunes Match, it progresses to the upload stage, but it repeatedly stops within one to two songs and starts all over again.  It will do this as long as I allow it to go without manually stopping it.  In addition, it keeps dumping and removing song titles from selected albums and separates songs within albums which I have purchased singles from.  Can someone please advise me as to how I can make this program work correctly?  It has been a continuous nightmare since I purchased it!

  • ITunes match stuck in loop phase

Yesterday itunes match erased all my music. I can't find it on my iPhone iPad or mac. I then attempted to reimport everything that I had on my time machine back to iTunes Match and now it keeps saying matching your music with songs in your itunes library over and over again. It won't upload or match any songs and I've had the mac sitting by itself for 6 hours. How do I fix this??

iTunes Match keeps "gathering information" on my library, in a loop, without ever making to step 2.
I know others have experienced the same issue, but the only advice given was for PC users. Am on Mac.
Admittedly, my library is huge (over 10,000 songs), but still...
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Same issue here with a MacBook pro recently upgraded to Mountain Lion.  I hadn't tried iTunes Match prior to the upgrade so can't say whether or not it worked previously.
    Getting quite frustrated!

  • ITunes Match fails at step 1 every time and won't work! Stuck in fail loop!

When i rebooted iTunes i restarted the match sync and now it doesnt get past step 1. When it gets up to the final stage of step 1 an error message comes up 'iTunes has stopped working' and I have to close itunes, when i reboot iTunes and start matc again, it starts from the beggining of step 1 fails again. I am stuck in a loop!

It would be useful to know which files iTunes Match is stalling on, but I can't find any way to do that.

  • My iTunes on my iMac is in an endless loop of starting on it's own and then crashing

How do I stop this endless loop of iTunes starting on it's own and then crashing only to begin over and over again? It has made using my iMac useless as the crash report window always covers whatever other window I have open.  Since it's in an endless loop, closing the window will do no good as the next crash will cause the window again to cover all work! I'm using a mid 2007 iMac with Lion and the latest version of iTunes.  I'm starting to feel like my mac is Microsoft Windows machine with the constant crashing! Thank goodness it's only the iTunes program that's crashing and not the computer!

    Try This...
Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
    Note:
Also consider Deleting any Apps you have Purchased / Downloaded but you now never use..

  • "Connect to your computer." "Use iTunes to restore" endless loop, ***?

I... I thought this was a Windows only problem. Soooooooo, what does it mean? Replace HDD? Logic Board? Try restoring on a PC?

    "I like donuts." LOL
See if you can put the iPod into Disk Mode.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1363
If so, see if doing a Restore now works without the "endless" loop.
If that does not help, try reformatting it using Windows (from a Windows Explorer window), with iTunes not running. Use a full format instead of any option for a quick format. If that completes successfully, run iTunes and try doing a Restore again.

  • Itunes match syncing endlessly

In the beginning iTunes Match worked fine. Now it starts and tries to complete step #1, but the progress-bar does not start running. This status stays endlessly. How can I make iTunes Match running again?

The iCloud status cleared. Thanks. But the iTunes Match items uploaded from the Mac are still not showing up in the library of the windows computer.  Everything is still enabled, but the synching between the Mac and the iPhone on the one hand and the windows computer on the other hand is still not working. And the match process on the windows computer took a couple of hours to complete, so it seems like something was happening. But just not everything.

  • ITunes Match colapse in step 2

When I add new songs to itunes and update itunes match the process freeze in step 2 when almost check all songs except 1 or 2

Same boat here. Tried three times over the weekend, each time it claims to have processed 10908 items (out of 11023 in my Library), 0 items remaining. No progress after that, though iTunes has been uploading several hundred K per second for the last several hours. Maybe it's uploading my unmatched stuff? Who knows?
Doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in their cloud strategy overall if they can't get even get music matching working in a reasonable amount of time. It's been in beta for a couple months, shouldn't be this slow, definitely shouldn't be this uncommunicative about what it's doing.
At the very least it should indicate that everything's going ok and eventually it will complete. Right now I simply have no idea if it's working or just caught in an endless loop.
