ITunes Match incomplete/cut off songs

After having completed the upload process, some of the songs that I listen to on my ios5 devices aren't complete, half way through the song it starts playing the next song, but according to the devices it's still playing the 1st song. This happens to both the iPad 1 & 3, and my iPhone.  The original songs are complete on my computer, and there wasn't any issues with the upload. I've even waited for the full albumn to download before begining to play a song, and I still get the same issue.  How can I fix this?

It definitely is disappointing .  I am suprised.  This is a temporary solution I found:
1). I redownload some of my misplayed songs back to my computer from the cloud and they seemed to play fine on my computer.  I burned them to a CD and reimported back  them into ITunes.  They seem to work fine after that...
2). If I still had the original CD, I deleted the track from my computer and the ITUNES cloud.  I then took the original CDS and reimported them into ITUNES again.  This also fixed the problem.  It was time-consuming, but it still work correctly.
Update:  Since yesterday, I was excited that my tracks were now playing correctly in my devices.  I guess that I got excited too soon becuase today I noticed that now NONE of my 10000 tracks will play on my devices through the cloud.  I am shocked and highly upset with APPLE.
I am starting to sync all my songs to Amazon.com's music cloud.  I plan to use it as a backup becuase I am learning now that I can't completey depend on the ITUNES Match unless I want to spend hours looking for a solution for their many system errors that seem to pop up these days.  Hopefully you will be able to get a solution to your problem too.  I know this can definitely be a pain...

    reformatted ipod, resynced, same problem.
    help!

I have also had the same problem...
The songs appear to be random, and when I plug my iPod into the computer it is fixed. Sure enough, a monthish later, it happens again.
When my songs get cut off, they are stopped exactly half-way through. Apparently, the iPod thinks that is how long they are, because it plays the time that it shows (the total time only goes to helf of what it normally is).
This does not seem to be a matter of old software, as I am always up-to-date on iPod software, and this has been happening to me with version 1.4.1
I have not Restored my iPod, but apparently that will not help (according to the other posts).
I hope somebody can answer this (although I've posted it twice before with no luck, so...)

  • Itunes 10.6.3 cuts off songs

I re-installed my Music according to Apple's instructions, but that didn't resolve the problem. Some songs are getting cut off at around the 3:00 mark, and when they do, iTunes doesn't proceed to the next song. I'm operating Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 on a brand new iMac and have never had this problem before. Has Apple fixed this, and if not, what is the fix?

Not sure if this is what you did or not but it worked for me.   I am running iTunes 10.6.3.25.  I deleted the cut off songs from both my ipod and iTunes on my computer (choosing to move them to the trash bin and eliminate completely).  Afterwards, I re-downloaded them from the cloud by accessing my previously purchased items in the iTunes store. For what it's worth, I had to go through this process twice before it actually worked.

  • TS1702 I bought a song today from iTunes but it cuts off over a minute before the song ends, how can I download it again?

I bought a song today on iTunes and it cuts off over a minute before the song ends, how can I download it again or fix the problem. It happens on my MacBook Pro and my iPod Touch 4G

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the track from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

  • ITunes(10.6) or iTunes Match is renaming my songs

I updated to iTunes 10.6 yesterday everything was fine. This morning I noticed iTunes Match was turned off. Maybe from the update, no big, I signed back in. At least one of my song has been reverted back to UQLqfobz9Jpn.128. By chance I took a screen shot yesterday of the song and here it is again.
Notice iTunes got rid of any metadata that was not originally part of the song when imported(plays, rating, title).
    My Questions:
    1) Is there are way to revert the metadata back.
    2) Some other songs are like this, any tips on finding them all?
    3) Is the a tech support doc on this, I could only find info on HOW to rename a song.

You are experiencing a problem many others have reported.  Basically, during the matching process, if there is a "clean" version of an "explicit" song, Apple is matching to the "clean" one.  The explicit track is still on your computer unless you've removed it.
As for who would want a "clean" version of anything, only people who have purchased it could tell you why.  Consider the legal implications, however, if someone who wanted "clean" versions suddenly found all their music had gone, well, nasty!
Apple's legal department may have forced engineering to put some measures in place to keep that from happening.  If they did, they're working a little too well.  Hopefully with time Apple will get it straightened out.

  • My iPod Touch (iOS 6.1.3) keeps cutting off songs before they finish.

My iPod keeps cutting off songs before they finish. There doesn't seem to be a pattern - it only happens to some songs. It also doesn't cut them all off with the same amount of time remaining. The songs work perfectly when I play them back on iTunes on my laptop.
I've tried removing and reloading all the music as well as restoring my iPod to its factory settings.
Please help... it's driving me mad!!

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Music player cuts off songs prematurely

I have an iPhone 4S running 7.0.3. Ever since upgrading from 6.x to 7.x, the music player will cut off songs prematurely (approx 45-60 seconds too soon). I've reset the phone, re-sync'd the music, etc. It happens on 1/4-1/3 of my music, and I'm at a loss as to what to do.
    Any suggestions?

I could be wrong but isn't there a stop at property on the songs? I'm not in front of my itunes right now to check. I seem to remember that but apple could have taken that property away.
As far as os7, the ipod app is extremely buggy! It crashes on me at least 4 times a day. Sometimes songs just stop for no reason. It also gets out of sync, when I unlock my phone there are times its 5 minutes behind where the song actually is.

  • Used iTunes match and states 2400 songs matched, yet no icloud matching

Used iTunes match and states 2400 songs matched, yet no icloud logos next to my songes except a few indicating duplicates and no songs match to my iphone. Help. I've tried re-matching, turning icloud off/on. no luck. No songs now on iphone. Any suggestestion.

If you right-click on the header bar above your music and select "iCloud Status" it'll show you exactly what their status is and if they've been matched, uploaded or are still waiting to be processed and/or uploaded.
You may need to quit iTunes and relaunch it to kick-start the process again if Match says it's done but your libraries show differently.

  • With iTunes match, order of the songs in my playlist of mobile devices is not the same as on my computer

In my iTunes on computer, I have several smart play lists. Within each playlist, songs are set to a certain order. Some playlist songs order are organized by name, some playlists are organized by Album, some playlists are organized by artist etc.
When I was syncing my iPhone and iPad directly with my computer, the playlists on my mobile device had same order of songs as on my itunes in computer.
Now, I signed up for iTunes match. With iCloud sync, order of the songs in my playlist of mobile devices is not the same as on my computer. In fact, order of songs within a playlist appears to be completely random. Moreover, order of songs are different in my iPhone 4s and iPad 2
How can I change the order of songs on my mobile devices or how do I make iTunes match to sync my songs such that within a playlist, my songs are in the same order as that of iTunes on my computer.

Thanks mracole. I assume this means order of songs will work with regular play lists I iTunes match. Will try it this afternoon and report.
Please let me know if my understanding is not correct.
Best regards and thanks once again.

  • HT4914 I just subscribed to iTunes match but only 61 songs from my 7GB of music on my iphone showed up.  I do not want to lose any music.  What should i do?

I just subscribed to iTunes match but only 61 songs from my 7GB of music on my iphone showed up.  I do not want to lose any music.  What should i do?  When I go to settings-music-and try to enable iTunes Match on my iPhone it says "iTunes Match will replace the music library on this device"  I don't want to do that it only has 61 of my 7GB of songs.

did you find out the answer?  I am afraid to hit enable.

  • I've just signed up to iTunes Match as I have songs on my iPhone 4 which wont sync with iTunes as they are from CDs but I can't see my music in the cloud now. Anyone had the same problem and have an easy fix?

I've just signed up to iTunes Match as I have songs on my iPhone 4 which wont sync with iTunes as they are from CDs but I can't see my music in the cloud now. Anyone had the same problem and have an easy fix?

    What fixed it for me:
On your computer, open iTunes > My iPhone (or whatever name you gave your iPhone) > "Music" page
    Uncheck "Sync Music"
    Click "Sync" button (bottom right)
    Let it run and finish
Uncheck the box for every song, playlist, etc.
Click "Sync" button (bottom right) (This step may be unnecessary, but I did it and got the result I wanted.)
    Let it run and finish
Check the boxes for the music you want on your iPhone
    Click "Sync" button (bottom right)
    Let it run and finish
See if that doesn't work for you.  I tried a lot of things that did nothing, but this seems to have fixed it, and quickly.

  • I downloaded iOS 8.2 and now my phone won't connect to the iTunes store, and my iTunes Match is turned off and won't turn back on...

I downloaded iOS 8.2 on my iPhone 5s 32 GB and now my phone won't connect to the iTunes store, and my iTunes Match is turned off and won't turn back on... I'm trying to log in from Settings > iTunes & App Store... not working...  I have reset the phone twice, tried via cell service, and rebooted my wireless router..

As per the Apple iCloud status page, they are having issues. Do not make changes at your end.

    Edit

  • How can it that half of my songs are matched in iTunes Match where the other songs from the same CD (ripped by Itunes) are not matched but uploaded?

I started with ITunes Match a few days ago (I have the latest versions of all OS's etc)
    - The whole process took more then two days to complete for the first time.
    - Half of my songs are matched in iTunes Match where the other songs most of the time from the same CD (most ripped by ITunes) are not matched but uploaded(?)
    - Complete CD's are not recognized, they are however available in the ITunes store (songs in my library not available in ITunes are an exception).
    - The match part overall is less then 50%, which is a complete disappointment.....
    - When I activate ITunes Match on my IPod, IPhone and IPad the art-work does not load or only partly.
    - Loading songs on iOS is extremely slow... and that is definitely not due to my internal network.
    - ICloud (ITunes Match) on the apple TV stops working after every 15 seconds because it losses connection to the ITunes server....
I am a real Apple fan for the last decade but what a disappointment is this......before I started with ITunes Match everything worked seamlessly.

The number of Songs that 'matched' is simply a function of the current iTunes Match service process.  It is not unusual to have multiple Songs in an otherwise perfectly matched album be uploaded - often it is very possible to find the album in the iTunes Store.
The Artwork does tend to reappear for many over a few days / weeks - however, if your library backup has all Artwork present it would be wise to save the Album Art separately and reapply to Albums not showing art work in the library grid view.
Many of the other performance issues you mention are not typical - though during the past working week or so the Apple Infrastructure has been very heavily loaded with multiples countries having service go-live symultaneously.

  • For iTunes Match, how come some songs "match" on an album and other songs on the same album "upload" without matching?

For iTunes Match, how come some songs "match" on an album and other songs on the same album "upload" without matching?  All songs are available on iTunes.  I don't get it!  Any way to manually match songs that iTunes apparently can't match?  I have hundreds in this unmatched state.

Shazam has NO problem determining what these songs are. Maybe Apple needs to consider licensing their technology as it seems MUCH more accurate than what they are doing.
You aren't comparing like with like.
The main task that Shazam has is to identify the name or a track and the artist. I believe that it suggests the album as well, but if it gets that wrong then it doesn't really matter too much.
With iTunes Match, getting the album (i.e. identifying which version it is) is much more important. If it gets that wrong then it breaks up the flow of an album. This makes the task that match has very much harder.
In fact, there is a strong argument to say that currently the problem iTunes has is that it is matching too many songs, resulting in matches from different albums.
I'm sure that match is not struggling to identify whether it has a song or not, but whether it has the correct version of a song. When you introduce different masterings into the process then, depending on the thresholds set, it is probably correct in concluding that it hasn't got a particular version, even if you think it has.
The solution would appear to me to be a tweaking of the matching thresholds along with the ability to force an upload, but we just don't know what restrictions they have (remember that if Shazam gets it wrong the it doesn't present you with a copy of a new track that you didn't have previously). It is almost certainly not just a case of improving their technology.
