Why is this happening?  These are non DRM songs.

Hi there,
I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps found in the article below.

  • The iTunes Store is constantly asking me for my username and password.

The iTunes Store is constantly asking me for my username and password.
About the only thing I can do is log into the account, but it's constantly asking me for my user/password.
I've read a number of discussions on the matter -
I am running Lion 10.7.4 on iTunes 10.6.3
    I check the keychain access
    Reset passwords
    etc.
    Nothing seems to be working.
    Any other ideas?

I have the exact same problem, it suddenly just started asking for the iCloud or iTunes password, practically every 5 seconds, no exaggeration. Even more frustrating than that, it rejects the password I enter, even though I'm positive that it's correct!  I can barely go from screen to screen without this infernal box popping up, and forget texting or using an app.
After resetting the password & turning the phone off & on a few times, I just finished restoring it and the bloody pop-up was the first thing that came onto the screen when it restarted haha. I hope someone can help

  • After upgrading iTunes I keep getting asked to authorize account to play songs purchased with a very old hotmail account i don't have and can't recover the password. How can I authorize my songs again.

After upgrading iTunes I keep getting asked to authorize account to play songs purchased with a very old hotmail account (10 years) I don't have anymore and can't recover the password. How can I authorize my songs again? I tried to sign in to hotmail again and it says i don't have an account, but when I try to create a new one with the same name, it says one already exists.
When I try to recover the password from Apple, it of course wants to send an email to the account I can't get into, and when I try to do the security questions, it says my DOB is incorrect. How can that be wrong?! I am pretty sure I know my exact birthdate. Now I can't listen to a bunch of my music.

  • HT5085 Itunes Match is constantly scanning my library

I recently updated my Itunes, now itunes match is constantly running, as i'm listening to music, it constantly pops up with the 3 steps, gathering, matching and uploading... For some reason it gets to uploading artwork and remaining songs, then after about 5 minutes starts all over again.
I have even stopped using the computer and came back this morning, Itunes match is still running, the thing is I can't tell which songs its getting stuck on so I can just remove them, then reimport them from the cd's.
I have ran the disk utility to check for errors on my HDD, even verified and repaired just in case, no errors were found.

Hello i have the same problem. Have you resolved the problem, if so how did you do it?

  • I got 25 dollar at my acount i was trying to subscribe itune match but it ask me credit card

i got 25 dollar at my acount i was trying to subscribe itune match but it ask me credit card

Let me save you a load of grief. Login to My Verizon http://www.verizonwireless.com the log in to your account. Click on Pay Bill you then can add the new credit card via the edit feature or just as an add new payment method.
It is very easy. The 12 digit name or number I can not even guess. For your payment to verizon you give each account you set up a name. that may be what its looking for. Just set up a new payment method. then go back in and delete the old payment method. Verizon will delete the method you don't use in 6 months.
    Good luck

  • ITunes  8 constantly asking to authorize songs

I've just upgraded to the iTunes 8 and have encountered an annoying problem. I can't play music bought from the iTunes Store. I'll click on the song to play it and it asks to authorize. I enter the account info and it says that this computer has been successfully authorized. But the music doesn't play. So I click on the song again - same thing happens. I need to authorize it. So I enter my account info and success! But no song plays.
I Quit iTunes and restart it and now it plays the songs. For a little while. Eventually it skips a song saying I need to authorize the song.
Any idea of whats going on?
    Thanks

This problem happened to me as soon as I upgraded to iTunes 8. I currently have 4 Macs authorized to play store TV shows, and only the iTunes 8 laptop is having this problem. My other 3 Macs are at the last 7.x version of iTunes, and all of them are playing the same files without ever asking for authorization.

  • I tunes 8 constantly asking for authorization, then says already authorized

Ever since I downloaded itunes 8.0, it has been constantly asking me to authorize songs- after which it says the computer is already authorized- I thought it was a quirk with the download, so I re-downloaded and installed 8.0, but I"m having the same problem.
This is such a huge annoyance and getting in the way of my listening to my music, and I am reconsidering buying any more music from i tunes- someone please help!!!! Thanks

Remove the "SC Info" directory for your operating system as described in this Apple Support article then reauthorize.

  • I have a new ipad but cannot download from ITunes as I am asked to authorize the device . I cannot find where I go to do this . Apple gives the instruction ' go to iTunes and authorise' . Please help

I have anew ipad but my iTunes is on my old device . I cannot download anything from iTunes onto my new device until I have authorized it . iTunes advice is ' go to iTunes and find AUTHORIZE'. I cannot find this . Please help.

If the computer's running Mac OS X, move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store, and choose Authorize this Computer.
If the computer's running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

  • Computer constantly asks for authorization after migration to new mac when trying to sync ipod?

I've recently migrated to a new MacbookPro running Lion, from a Macbook running Leopard. My iTunes account and computer, though authorized, will not sync to my ipod, saying it will delete 15 or more files purchased through itunes as the computer is not authorized.
I de-authorized both computers and authorized the one I am currently using - to no avail, it still throws up the error. The account keeps reverting back to an old .mac address that I never used and have changed this to my new ID within the Mobileme website. Again this has not helped!
Am I going to have to find the original music files and copy them in to my itunes again rather than trying to do it through this authorizing thing? Is there any thing I can do to get this error to go?
I have recently got some new music that I put on itunes, but due to the error am unable to sync my ipod to get the tracks on there now!
    Help! Getting very frustrated!

Okay...fixed it. It was to do with my old @mac.com ID, which after searching on here have found you also cannot merge the identities.
Bit of a pain,  but got it working now...

  • Itunes match repeatedly asks to signout and sign in

Every time I load iTunes it tells me that iTunes match encountered an error and asks to sign out of the store and sign back in. When i do this, it deletes my genius matches and resyncs iTunes match. I have no problems accessing my matched songs on my iPhone. Itunes match also continmually asks me to add my comp to iCloud. I checked my iTunes account and it shows only one PC as authorized to access.

Ok this may or may not solve it for people out there but I, after posting the last post, complaints coming from both my wife and mother about pages not working for them. 1 being the university page that my wife was using to submit her homework and the other being a site that my mother was visiting for a upcoming car purchase. I then realized that I recently changed some settings on my router's firewall (wrt610n, under security->firewall settings) web filter there is a check box for
    Proxy   Java   ActiveX   Cookies
not sure which was needed to complete the upload/verification or connection to itunes match but once they were all deselected my mom, my wife and my self were all able to connect to the pages we wanted and to use itunes match.
so check firewall settings that black the aforementioned and maybe it may help.
sorry for the wall of text but hope it helps.

  • Itunes says its going to ask for authorization password but that window doesnt pop up

please help. The problem is that when it says itunes will open and ask for authorization, itunes window doesn't pop up.

Since installing Windows 7 there have been some weird goings on with my laptop.
I kept muddling around with this and ran a few diagnostics only to find that everything was fine. There was an incompatibility problem with Windows 7 and Firefox (safe mode) which I cared for by simply agreeing with everything Windows 7 wanted to do. It made an adjustment and apparently between the two programs they worked it out.
I tried downloading Firefox 4 beta one more time...using a fresh download in my Firefox browser and from the Firefox webpage. Oddly, this time the program downloaded saved itself to my laptop. I was able to open and install it without incident.
Now, I am all sync'd up!
Thank you very much for your assistance

  • HT4914 Can't reconnect my computer to iTunes Match

I purchased iTunes Match when it first came out and have successfully connected my iPad and iPhone to it. A few weeks ago, I turned off iTunes Match on my laptop. Today, I tried to turn it back on but can't connect. All I get is the iTunes Match splash page asking me if I want to purchase it. I tried deauthorizing and re-authorizing my computer but for some reason it can't "see" my iTunes Match subscription (my iPhone and iPad still can access it). I don't even see the iCloud columns as options under View - View Options. Any idea what's going on? The only thing I can think of is that I used to subscribe to MobileMe. Not sure if that has something to do with it since MM ended on June 30.

I was having the same problem tonight.  I did a clean install for Mountain Lion, and my iTunes was blank.  After authorizing the machine, and selecting Turn On iTunes Match, I only saw the renewal option.
I did some experimenting and this worked for me.
    (1) Cleared iTunes cahce and reset warnings from Preferences > Advanced (which may not be required).
    (2) Quit iTunes.  Open iTunes.
    (3) Authorize computer.
    (4) Select iTunes Store on the sidebar.
    (5) Selected Purchased on the right side.
    (6) Downloaded one track previously purchased.
    (7) You should receive prompts asking to turn on Automatic Downloads.  I selected Music.
    (8) Go to iTunes Match and you should see Add This Computer.
Hopefully this works for you as well!

  • HT4914 Can more than one icloud account share the same itunes match account?

I have itunes match on my ipad, iphone and two pc's, my wife has her own itunes account on her iphone and her laptop. Is it possible for her to share my itunes match account so that I only have to worry about one itunes library?

    Weston962 wrote:
can my wife also access the same iTunes Match library
    Yes.
using her - different iTunes account login details.
No because iTunes Match is tied to your account.
    Try this on her iPhone...
    Settings > Store.
Tap her acount name, log out then log in with your iTunes account.
    Now Settings > Music.
Turn on iTunes Match (it should ask for your account password).
She should then be able to go back to Settings > Store, log out of your iTunes account and log back in with her iTunes account.

  • ITunes match enabled, only getting ads in Radio

Very frustrating... so I'm just trying to listen to Radio in iTunes.  I've got iTunes Match, and it's enabled.  But the channel is only playing ads, with long periods of silence between ads.
    I'm running iTunes 11.1.3.9 for Windows 64bit.

Problem seemed to pop up after loading iTunes 12.  I have the answer
using the computer that is causing the problem:
    Load iTunes
Click on store, 4th from upper left on task bar
    click on Deauthorize this Computer
    sign in.
After the computer has Deauthorized, click on Authorize this computer
    sign in
The process turns off iTunes match so:
Turn on iTunes match, three lines up from Authorize this computer, still in the Store pull down menu.
    Should work.  Worked for me!
