  • Itunes match no longer sending information to apple

Itunes Match will no longer send anything to apple It has been stuck at sending information to apple for the past three hours. Anyone know what's going on?

    Hi there,
I had the same problem with Windows version of iTunes although the fix is the same for Mac or Windows I'd guess. If you've tried the "Switch off / on iTunes Match" thing and still getting an error try this:
    1) Turn off iTunes Match and Genuis.
    2) De-authorise Computer
    3) Sign out of your Apple account.
Re-boot computer and start up iTunes
    4) Sign back into your Apple ID
    5) Authorise your Computer
    6) Turn on Genius and wait for Apple to send back results and process completes
    7) Turn on iTunes Match and click the "add this computer" button to start the matching process.
    8) Allow iTunes Match to go through the updating process - this time it should eventually complete.
Hope this works - it certainly fixed my "Sending Information to Apple" problem.

  • Itunes match stuck at sending information to apple

Anyone else having issues tonight? Once a week the iTunes match seems to auto run the info gathering and send to apple. Normally it works fine although can be a but slow to get a response from apple sometimes. Tonight it just won't go past 'sending information to apple'. Each time I start iTunes it gathers the info to try again. Anyone else getting similar? My library has not changed in weeks so it can't be anything like that. I guess server issues at apples end?
    Cheers
    Wayne

Welcome to the iTunes Match family...
But I have the same problem everyone is experiencing. It's not an exactly a trend with iTunes Match, but when it works... it works flawlessly. But as mracole mention above, it's most likely a maintenance issue.

  • Can not get Itunes match to work. It stops on the first step and on my status bar it just says "sending information to apple" this goes on for hours. Help please.

Help please. I cannt get itunes match to work. It just stops on the first step and the status bar continues to say "sending information to apple" for hours. Any ideas?

I am having a similar issue with iTunes Match. It keeps hanging up on the same number of files (11035 of 15455) during STEP 2. I've tried signing out, re-opening iTunes, re-booting, etc. Still comesup stuck for hours. What I also don't understand is why the "iCloud Status" option in "View/View Options" disappears intermittently. It was there when I first booted up this morning and I reviewed all my music files to see if there were any "errors" and there werne't any. But after Match gets stuck on the same file niumber (11035) I 've signed out and re-booted and now the "iCloud Status" check box is missing from "View Options" (only the "iCloud Download" option remains present all the time. Please help. (I've also checked to make sure all the music files are within the suggested bit rate parameters and file type - This is also a brand new iMac out of the box). Running out of troubleshooting ideas and beginning to think this service just doesn't work well.

  • HT204406 iTunes match is stuck on Step 1: Gathering Information about your iTunes Library

iTunes match is stuck on Step 1: Gathering Information about your iTunes Library.
It will not progress past step 1.
I have tryed re-installing iTunes, resetting everything and all that. No luck in getting it to work.
Any suggestions on how I get it to work?

    Hi..
"A status indicator will allow you to track progress. You may also manually pause and resume iTunes at any time by clicking the Stop or Start button."
From here >  iTunes Store: Troubleshooting iTunes Match
Can you click the Start button?
Sounds like the internet connection is timing out.
Try turning off your router for a few minutes, then turn it back on. Restart your Mac, launch iTunes and try again.

  • HT4914 iTunes Match gets stuck gathering info...

I have subscribed to iTunes Match and during the matching process it seems to get stuck "Gathering information about your iTunes library..." forever. It hasn't moved past that point since the 14th. Any suggestions on how to get it to work?

How did you ever fix this?  I am having the same problem.

  • ITunes Match is "stuck" in step 3

iTunes Match is stuck half-way through step 3; after matching more than three thousand songs, it began to upload an additional ~600. It uploaded 300  songs, but will not upload the remaining 300. I've started and stopped, turned iTunes off and on, and turned my Mac off and on. Don't know if there's a problem with the next song in the queue, but can't find how to get it working, or in lieu of that, to skip to next song.

How to Fix Step 2 and Step 3 Errors in iTunes: Music Media Formats, and Checking Firewall
This solution assumes that you do not have corruption in your iTunes library database. To fix that follow the steps in Apple Support KB ht1251 above.
Step 1, 2, or 3 Hangs: Problems with Media Formats.
If you have heterogenous media formats in your music files, some of them will FAIL iTunes match, causing it to hang. This is a software error in iTunes match, which should mark the files as "Not eligible" instead of remaining stuck in an endless loop. These errors never occur if all the songs in the music library are unprotected AAC 256 kbps music files encoded by iTunes 10.5.1.
There are two basic ways to upgrade your song media formats to iTunes 10.5.1 AAC encoding - encode all of them at once, or do them selectively. In either method, you must delete the original version from iTunes and your file system. If you previously loaded them to iCloud, get rid of them there also.
You will be able to see a hung file in OS/X under Activity Monitor -> iTunes -> Inspect Process -> Open Files and Ports. In Windows you will have to use standard Task Manager inspections.
In my iTunes library, I found that certain AAC (m4a) files which were encoded in before 2011 were stuck, and m4p Protected AAC files. I had already fixed the encoding of MP3s, so I was suprised that music previously encoded by iTunes was hanging up.
You may convert all files which were not encoded at 256 kbps AAC with a right-mouse click. Find them:
    1) individually in iTunes as you discover them in Open Files and Ports trace, or
    2) by creating a sort smart playlist that matches their pattern. For example, a playlist with bit-rate < 256k.
After converting them, you MUST delete the previous file(s) from your iTunes library. I suggest you move the actual file to trash, and delete the trash. Archive the files if you wish. If any of them were already matched to iTunes Match, you must delete them there also.
After getting rid of older media formats, re-run iTunes match. Step 2 should complete, and your Open Files and Ports window should no longer show any music file open in your iTunes library. If it does show, convert it and remove the old file from your library.
If you have converted your music library and Step 3 is still stuck, it is likely a Firewall problem. Check the last line in Open Files and Ports, and use the information in the last rows to check your firewall settings. The upload port is shown in this form, 192.168.1.1:53089->72.21.214.201:https. If you see this type of row, but nothing is being uploaded, a firewall or other issue is blocking that port.
In my case the block was created by my broadband modem settings. Check with the installation guide for your modem - typically they can be managed by a http:// address such as http://192.168.1.254. Change the firewall settings as needed.

  • HT4914 I often record songs at a particular tempo, iTunes Match will then match it and send it back to me at the original tempo, is there anyway I can stop some songs from being matched. At the moment I have turned match off. But I would like to sync play

I often record songs at a particular tempo, iTunes Match will then match it and send it back to me at the original tempo, is there anyway I can stop some songs from being matched. At the moment I have turned match off. But I would like to sync playlists.

How old was this backup? It sounds like it was at least several weeks old.
You can look directly in the TM backup for the music.
    1. Connect to the external HDD the backup is kept on.
    2. Open a Finder window and select the backup drive in the left hand panel. Double click into the folders until you see a list of folders with dates.
These are the incremental backups. You can start at the top or the bottom of the list but I suggest you double Latest/<HDD Name>/Users/<Account Name>/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music. From this location you can start looking for the "missing" music. When/if you find it you can simply drag-n-drop to ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music on the internal HDD.
If the music is actually not in the backups (for whatever reason) then you've got a problem.
You can download the uploaded files from the cloud by deleting the affected tracks from the iTunes library (but not the cloud!), highlighting multiple tracks at once, right-clicking and choosing "download."

  • HT204406 My iTunes Match gets stuck on step 1

My iTunes Match gets stuck on step 1 and won't go any further.  I will leave my computer on all day and night and iTunes Match doesn't move past step 1.  What can I do to resolve this issue?

    Cancel it and try again.

  • When I sync my iPhone 4s, it sticks at "sending information to Apple.

    Hi,
When I sync my iPhone 4s, it always sticks at "sending information to Apple". I don't have Genius switched on, nor do I have Apple match.  If someone could help me in as simple a way as possible, you would make a computer illiterate pensioner very happy. Thank you.

Try to restart your PC or reinstall iTunes. Apple Mobile Device Service is installed by iTunes and must be launched at startup in order to work properly

  • Genius cannot send information to Apple, please help!

Hi is there anybody out there who can help me?
    This is the problem:
I have an iMac with itunes 8 on. I've been trying to start genius features the whole week. The first step (scanning my library) is ok but then the system takes way too much time to send information to apple. I tried to let it go for more that 8 hours in different days. There must be something wrong. Any idea how to fix this?
i've already tried to check itunes libraries file with XML validator and it says that it is ok.
I really don't know what else to do.

Weird! Are you logged in to the iTunes store and have authorised your computer?

  • "Genius - Sending information to Apple..."  - How do I stop this?

Everytime I start iTunes, I get this message in the top status bar "Genius - Sending Information to Apple..." Note: I'm internet connected and can get to any site.
The status doesn't goes away. How do I stop this? How do I disable "Genius"?
The little icon in the lower right of iTunes (for Genius) when paused on says "Start Genius" and it's greyed out. So I can neither start nor stop Genius.
    thanks.

Thanks, All. I can hide the sidebar and the entry in the playlists list, but the status message remains.
When I go the pulldown menu for Store, the 'Turn off Genius' is greyed out.
I saw another message on this board that said it took many hours to complete "sending information to Apple" so I'll just wait and see if/when I can turn off Genius.
    Thanks, all, for your help.
