ITunes Match not actually working

I run iTunes Match and it does it's scanning files thing and finds 3500 songs and then needs to upload 370. So I let it do this, and then it says 3900 songs are ready. The catch is, it didn't actually do anything. The only songs available to me on iTunes Match are my purchases still. Most of the column with the cloud are blank with a few / and a few !
How do I get this thing to work correctly? I've turned off Match and turned it back on again and let it scan again with the same results.

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.

ITUNES MATCH NOT WORKING AT ALL AFTER LAST ITUNES UPDATE

So I updated I tunes to 11.2.2 and now guess what ? Itunes Mtach fails to start at all. To add salt into wounds Apple have just taken my renewal fee. Ituned Match when it works is great (which is very rare!!) but now it is not even working at all .. Why??? Anyone???

ITunes Match No Longer Works With iTunes 11.1.4.62

After upgrading to iTunes 11.1.4.62 for Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, my iTunes Match no longer works. It insists that I pay for another subscription even though I have a valid subscription already. Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue? What can I do to remedy this problem?

So I'm guessing that there is no fix for this error? I see that this patch has caused complete disaster for not only me but for lots of other people as well. Tell us how to fix our issues or release a new patch!

itunes match not updating. iTunes on computer has appropriate songs/ albums. But on iPhone and ipad changes do not appear. I have tried holding down shift key when turning off iTunes Match, signing out of iTunes Store, then quitting itunes. I then start itunes, sign into store, then turn on iTunes match and it goes through lengthy scanning, hours, and I am left with the matching page showing the three stages of iTunes Match greyed out, with a button offering me to start it again. i have repeated this process several times, switching off iTunes Match on devices before starting iTunes Match on compute - same problem. I have changed albums while iTunes Match is on, as recommended by apple's webpage.
please advise on how to update iTunes match so this change on computer also happens on devices. Thank you in advance

thank you so much. Thank you for your quick reply, sorry I did not respond sooner, but I wanted to make sure it worked before replying, hence I had to wait for iTunes Match to do its thing.
You are are a genius Jim, so a big thank you.
So in a nutshell for all, Jim's solution works for those who have gone over their 25,000 limit by mistake, and are unable to update match, you can with Jim's solution, delete stuff in the iTunes Match cloud and in effect have your original iTunes Match library as you want it.

ITunes Match not playing.

Since Feb 12, I have not been able to play "stream" my songs on my iMac. They just keep skipping over to the next song with nothing playing. When I try and click on the download button, I am given the error code 5556. the only songs that play are the ones that are on my hard drive, which is not many. Also, iTunes Match plays and works great on my iPad2 and iPhone 3gs. I have tried deleting my itunes preferences, signing in and out, i deleted my itunes folder, reinstalled itunes, etc... Any Ideas? Help? ...oh and I just bought my iMac last week! crazy....

You say you have already tried signing in and out of the iTunes store... try this sign out of the store, quit iTunes, restart your Mac just for good measure, launch iTunes and sign back in. You may also want to power cycle your internet router for good measure.

Itunes match not loading in ios7

Itunes match not working since the ios 7 update? It worked great before that...I've tried restaring the phone a few times and closing out the app. Tried turning on and off itunes match on both the phone and through itunes on the computer, tried restaring the computer. i've tried it on wifi and on cellular, both connect to other things but itunes match won't load?

I was stuck in "Loading iTunes Match" for an hour. Here's what I did:
In Settings -> Music, turned off Music Match
On the computer, started iTunes, plugged in the iPhone, let it sync. It copied some songs to the phone.
In Settings -> Music, turned on Music Match
Synced the phone again by clicking 'Sync' in iTunes
On the phone, went to the Music app. My library loaded in a couple of seconds.
I imagine all these steps aren't required. It may be enough to cycle Music Match off and on. Extra points to the user who can do it in less steps.

Calm down.
Was all this music on your iPhone backed up to your iTunes library? If so, once the initial scan, match and upload process is finished in iTunes all the music will be available on your iPhone again. Just disable the service on the iPhone until the intial process is done in iTunes.
Also, as long as you are in a country where iTunes in the Cloud is available you can re-download most past purchases: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US.

4th gen touch and iTunes Match no longer works

I have a 4th gen touch, and iTunes Match no longer works - I choose it in settings, and it just turns itself off a few seconds later - it worked before, and I had to restore the iPod, and it doesn't work any more.

If you are having issues with your iPod touch turning off iTunes Match unexpectedly, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPod -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPod as a new device -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups.

What specificaly happens when you try to access the store? Any errors?
What do you mean by full factory reset? Does that mean a restore as new?
Are you able to access the store via Wi-Fi?

1. As per your instruction, I turned off iTM.
Small discrepancy – where are two screens with iTM switch:
-Settings > iTunes & App Store.
-Settings > Music
I switched OFF in both.
NB: I turned device to English for convenience.
2. My next step was Setting > General > Usage – tapped {Music};
{All music} screen appeared; I swiped it and taped Delete.
3. I performed “hard reset” …………………………………..
4. Switched back On iTM
5. Taped Music app on Home screen
iTM has started – (it took 18 minutes to completed, 60 mbps Wi-Fi speed )
Regret to inform… All the same:
Erase and reset to factory default? Or I did smf wrong?
