ITunes Match not streaming long tracks.

My iTunes Match streams most of my tracks over 3G/4G perfectly. But when I try and stream a full length album mix then it just skips the tracks and refuses to play them.
The tracks in question have been matched by iTunes and should be available to stream.
For example I'm tying to listen to Anjunabeats Volume 6 and the 2 mixes are 1:19:00 long each. So that's a full 80min track.
Very annoying as if an album is split in to individual tracks but is also 80mins long then it plays fine.
I am a DJ and I have a lot of my own mixes uploaded to iTunes Match and these don't play either. I thought it was a problem with those but as I said matched tracks that are around this length are having the same issue.
Any help would be appreciated.
KB!

I am having the same problem. Match uploaded or matched my 4000+ library which I keep on a separate disk to save space. It works great with my iPhone and iPad, but when I try to use it on my Mac, whcih I had used to upload my library, it cannot find my "original files." I had hoped that I could leave my external hard drive at home when I traveled, but it does not seem to work.
When I add my mac to iTunes match, it tells me that I have 4000+ songs in my cloud, but when I try to play a song it keeps asking me where my originals are. They are home and I am visiting family.
Has anyone else found some way to fix this?
Thanks,
Ed

  • Itunes match not streaming

So let me get this straight Google Music lets you stream your music, adds your playlists and is Free. Yet itunes match doesn't stream or give you the choice to stream or download, it doesn't load your playlists, and there is a charge? Man I don't know seems like apple is dropping the ball here.....

    Wow.  Where to even begin.
iTunes Match lets you stream OR dowload via iTunes on Mac or PC.  On iOS it playsback instantly (just like streaming) but the songs are saved during playback.  You can remove them with a swipe.
iTunes Match does sync your playlists.
Yes, Apple charges but it's not like there isn't a reason.  Unlike Google, they are *NOT* just giving you a basic storage service.  The key differences being:
    A) You DON'T have to upload your whole collection in ala Google.  Only what isn't "matched" against the iTunes store.
    B) For everything "matched" you have access to Apple's DRM free 256k AAC version for download (ie even if you had a crappy 128Kbps MP3 to start)
So, the choice is yours.  But if you have a big collection, use iOS devices an/or iTunes, or have material with marginal quality it should be easy to see what service is better for you.  From the tone of your post, I'd say you've already made up your mind though.

  • ITunes Match will no longer let me add my PC... Help?

iTunes Match will no longer let me add my PC.  As it is, about 50% of the time that I have opened iTunes for the last year, I've gotten an error stating that iTunes Match has encountered an error and I would need to re-login.  This is on my main PC, the one with all of my music stored on the HDD. So, everytime, I sign out and re-sign in, and iTunes match takes a good bit of time and comes back on line.  Today, it asked me to sign in again, and it told me that I can't add my PC because I have too many devices on the account.  Right now, aside from this desktop PC, I have my work PC and my MacBook Pro. I had an old work PC, but I was careful to de-authorize before losing that computer.  Thus, I don't have many computers on the iTunes match account.  I *do* have a lot of iOS devices that I use with iTunes match, but I've had those for a while.  Is this the issue or is there something else?
    Thanks!

  • How do I tell iTunes Match NOT to upload a song / audio file?

I produce music in Logic Pro and later play in iTunes for additional listening and testing.  How do I tell iTunes Match NOT TO UPLOAD certain songs or audio files?   I have to continously delete files from the cloud.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Hi,
It's all or nothing with iTunes Match. If the track is a valid format it either matches or uploads.
Do you want to keep the tracks in itunes? If so, I suggest that you create a second blank library then turn on match. This will show all your tracks in the cloud. If a track uploads, you can delete it from the cloud using this new library. When you revert to your original library, the track will still be present but the iCloud status will now be "removed" instead of "uploaded". You can see iCloud status in song view by going to menu > view > view options and tick box. Match will now ignore this track when scanning your library.

    Calm down.
Was all this music on your iPhone backed up to your iTunes library? If so, once the initial scan, match and upload process is finished in iTunes all the music will be available on your iPhone again. Just disable the service on the iPhone until the intial process is done in iTunes.
Also, as long as you are in a country where iTunes in the Cloud is available you can re-download most past purchases: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US.

  • ITunes match not updating on devices

    Help. Please.
itunes match not updating. iTunes on computer has appropriate songs/ albums. But on iPhone and ipad changes do not appear. I have tried holding down shift key when turning off iTunes Match, signing out of iTunes Store, then quitting itunes. I then start itunes, sign into store, then turn on iTunes match and it goes through lengthy scanning, hours, and I am left with the matching page showing the three stages of iTunes Match greyed out, with a button offering me to start it again. Re
i have repeated this process several times, switching off iTunes Match on devices before starting iTunes Match on compute - same problem. I have changed albums while iTunes Match is on, as recommended by apple's webpage.
please advise on how to update iTunes match so this change on computer also happens on devices. Thank you in advance

    Dear Jim
thank you so much. Thank you for your quick reply, sorry I did not respond sooner, but  I wanted to make sure it worked before replying, hence I had to wait for iTunes Match to do its thing.
You are are a genius Jim, so a big thank you.
So in a nutshell for all, Jim's solution works for those who have gone over their 25,000 limit by mistake, and are unable to update match, you can with Jim's solution, delete stuff in the iTunes Match cloud and in effect have your original iTunes Match library as you want it.
    Thank you Jim

i am having a problem with the iTunes match not loading on my iPhone 4, once in iTunes it just shows the iCloud logo, and does not load all my albums/song etc.

I'm guessing you mean the iTunes store.
What specificaly happens when you try to access the store?  Any errors?
What do you mean by full factory reset?  Does that mean a restore as new?
Are you able to access the store via Wi-Fi?

How to make iTunes Match not convert my files ALACs in 256 kbps (VBR)? How to get iTunes convert CDs in Apple loselss? The difference between 256 (VBR) and Apple Losless is very clear...

    Dear Michael, good day!
    1. As per your instruction, I turned off iTM.
Small discrepancy – where are two screens with iTM switch:
-Settings > iTunes & App Store.
    -Settings > Music
    I switched OFF in both.
NB: I turned device to English for convenience.
    2. My next step was Setting > General > Usage – tapped {Music};
{All music} screen appeared; I swiped it and taped Delete.
    3. I performed “hard reset” …………………………………..
    4. Switched back On iTM
    5. Taped Music app on Home screen
iTM has started –  (it took 18 minutes  to completed, 60 mbps Wi-Fi speed )
Regret to inform… All the same:
Erase and reset to factory default? Or I did smf wrong?

  • Music/iTunes Match not working properly since update to iOS 7

Music/iTunes Match not working properly since update to iOS 7

    Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
     Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.
Here is a link to their contacts with most of the information below.

  • ITunes will not stream audio to AppleTv.

Since I upgraded to Yosemite iTunes will not stream audio to AppleTv. IPhone and iPad running iOS8 works fine.

    Hey there Klausnorgaard,
It sounds like AirPlay is not functioning correctly between iTunes on your computer, to your AppleTV but iOS devices work without issue. I would use the troubleshooting in the following article, named:

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Itunes match not loading in ios7

Itunes match not working since the ios 7 update? It worked great before that...I've tried restaring the phone a few times and closing out the app. Tried turning on and off itunes match on both the phone and through itunes on the computer, tried restaring the computer. i've tried it on wifi and on cellular, both connect to other things but itunes match won't load?

I was stuck in "Loading iTunes Match" for an hour.  Here's what I did:
In Settings -> Music, turned off Music Match
On the computer, started iTunes, plugged in the iPhone, let it sync.  It copied some songs to the phone.
In Settings -> Music, turned on Music Match
Synced the phone again by clicking 'Sync' in iTunes
On the phone, went to the Music app.  My library loaded in a couple of seconds.
I imagine all these steps aren't required.  It may be enough to cycle Music Match off and on.  Extra points to the user who can do it in less steps.

  • How can I sync to keep some music tracks on my iPhone AND use iTunes Match to stream the rest?

Before I got iTunes Match, I had selected a whole bunch of music from my iTunes to sync onto my iPhone using my USB cable.
Now I've signed up for iTunes Match and none of that music is on my iPhone anymore except by streaming.
How do I get those tunes and podcasts back on my iPhone so I can listen to them when streaming is not available (like downstairs in my gym where there's no signal) WHILE ALSO being able to access the other non-sync'd tunes if I want whenever I've got a good signal.
I spent some time choosing which tunes to keep on my iPhone and which not to sync. So I'm sad they've all gone from my iPhone.
    Your help appreciated!

You don't really have to download each one.
If you put the songs that you want to in a playlist you can have your iOS device download all the songs automatically rather than you having to do them one by one.  And as you add more songs to this playlist you can periodically have your iOS device download the new ones.  It actually works very well.  The only downside, albeit a small one, is that it won't automatically download the new additions to your playlists.
This is exctly what I do for my workout playlist.  I populated it, downloaded all the songs in one shot by clicking the DOWNLOAD ALL button on that playlist on my iPhone, and then as I add songs to that playlist in iTunes I'll go back to the iOS device and download those individual songs.

  • ITunes Match not upload tracks

Hi, I have a problem with iTunes Match.
I tried several things, including Logout and subsequent Login, convert songs to AAC but nothing; iTunes still does not upload tracks! Do you have any idea?
    THANK YOU in advance!

Thanks for coming back to me Andy,
Unfortunately it appears you're experiencing the same issue that several of us on here have reported recently. At this point there isn't really anything you can try to fix the problem as it's looking increasingly likely the issue is at Apple's side. I would however recommend contacting the iTunes Support team to report the problem, the more people that report it the more likely it will get picked up sooner.
Go to https://getsupport.apple.com/GetproductgroupList.action Select Show all Products and Services at the bottom of the page, select iTunes > iTunes Store > iTunes Match and use one of the contact options such as Chat.
I've currently got a case open with support for this and will post an update as soon as I hear anything back. Let me know how you get on.

  • Why is iTunes match not matching a few specific tracks in an album?, why is iTunes match not matching a few specific tracks in an album?

iTunes Match has worked relatively well for me (I have almost 12,000 tracks), but there are a few oddities:
    1. I'm not sure that iTunes Match has propery identified the 2009 re-mastered Beatles albums, which I bought as CDs before being released on iTunes.  There is something distinctly odd with the stereo separation, and some vocals have thus disappeared (especially on Abbey Road).
    2. I have a protected classical Naxos CD by the Kodaly Quartet, playing string quartets by Debussy and Ravel. Three of the tracks are identified as being unsuitable for matching.  Why would this be?  There are other instances of this elsewhere in my library.
    3. 'Jerry Springer: The Opera' won't match at all.  I assume this is censorship, which is an absolute shame.  What would Mr Jobs be saying about that, I wonder?
    4. Quite a lot of album art is missing.  This is not to obscure albums, necessarily, but to well known works, such as The Beatles White Album.
    5. Smart Playlists seems to be a bit of a disaster.
If anyone has any thoughts or solutions, I'd love to hear from you.
    Thanks!
    John
