ITunes match problems on iPhone

I just subscribed to iTunes match and setup my iPhone to use the cloud for music. It works except for the fact that on the albums tab it just says "no music". I am not sure why this is the case because on my ipad the albums show up fine. Any one else having this problem and know a fix?
I have tried turning match off and then back on as well as rebooting but nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated. I am running iOS 5.1

Hello, and first of all thanks for try to help me.
I read the information of the links, and saw if that information can help me, regrettably it doesn't.
Just says about software minimum requirements, turn cellular data on, itunes viewing options (i check it), settings for turn itunes match on (i check it always), options and settings for appear songs missing from itunes match on the computer (is not the case, i have no problems with my laptop). Check icloud status (i check it, it's ok).
Albums artwork missing & duplicated playlist (is not the case neither).
So, unfortunately don't say nothing about can't download uploaded songs from itunes match to iphone 5.
Hope you find another possible solution.
thank you...

  • Can't download music - seems to be an iTunes Match problem

I have iTunes Match activated, which is working fine on my iPad and iPhone.  However I cannot download purchased music onto the iMac.
In my household there is a shared iMac and each user has a different login & password.  Only I know my login password.  I have been using iTunes successfully on it for years, and have been using iTunes successfully for about 6 months now.  Auto-download has been disabled for several months now because I don't want everything downloaded automatically.  All has been fine until about a fortnight ago when the iMac stopped downloading newly purchased music whenever I clicked the little iCloud icon.  This is for music that I have successfully purchased and downloaded on my iPhone whilst at work, and now want to listen to at home.  Whenever I click the iCloud icon to download the new song I get an error message telling me that the computer is already associated with an Apple ID, and I have to wait 54 days etc to sign in with a new Apple ID.  However I'm certain no other Apple ID has been used with my account - when I go to the Store menu it is showing my current and correct Apple ID.
The most telling proof that my Apple ID is correct on both iMac and iPhone (and iPad as well) is that when I plug the iPhone into the iMac, the new music syncs across EXACTLY as it should - and it can then be played without problems.  Both the phone and the computer are correctly logged in to the same Apple ID, which is the same Apple ID that I use for iTunes Match.  Also when I click Store -> Update iTunes Match there appears to be no Apple ID conflict.
Obviously this is an iTunes Match problem which I cannot resolve, can someone please provide assistance / advice.

  • ITunes Match on my iPhone shows songs that are not in iTunes on my Mac and PC.

Yes, I know that deleting songs from iTunes does not necessarily mean they are deleted from iTunes Match, too. Not checking the box when deleting songs is definitely not why this is occurring, so hear me out. My Mac hosts my main iTunes library. What I do there, is synched with iTunes Match. In iTunes in Boot Camp, I have no local files, so all that iTunes on Windows shows me, are the songs that are matched with and uploaded to iTunes Match. As far as I can tell, it's exactly the same as my main library on my Mac.
It's a different story on my iPhone, though. There are songs that show up on my iPhone that I have deleted on my Mac. Some several times, even. A little while ago, I ripped one of my CDs and had it matched with iTunes Match. I made some changes to the metadeta afterwards, though, so I deleted the songs and added and matched them again. And again, that same day. I did the same things with a single song.
And now I'm stuck with three copies of the album and of the song in iTunes Match. But the weird thing is, that only one of each shows up in iTunes on Windows. That library, again, does not have any local music; it only shows what's in iTunes Match. I have tried disabling iTunes Match on my iPhone, I have deleted all local content on my iPhone, I have deleted the album and the song – the files that are showing up multiple times on my iPhone – from my Mac, updated iTunes Match, re-added the files and updated Match again. Unfortunately, none of this helped.
After deleting the files and updating Match, I saw only two instances of the album and the song in question, instead of three. After re-adding them and updating Match again, there were three of each again. That means that there are two instances of the album and of the song 'stuck' in iTunes Match. And yet they don't show up in iTunes on either OS X or in Windows.
Why is this happening? And, more importantly, how can I fix it? In the grand scheme of things, this is obviously a minor problem, but it's annoying me a lot nonetheless.

Is there really nobody else with this problem? Really?

  • How to get rid of iTunes match artefacts on iPhone?

After using iTunes match with iTunes on Windows, I've decided that I wanted to have full control of what is synced to my iPhone4 and disabled iTunes Match on the iPhone. I'm using a secondary iTunes library on my PC now to sync with the phone while I still have iTunes match in place for use with my Apple TV.
Problem is, that after disabling iTunes match on the iPhone, it still shows leftover iTunes match contents, e.g. in the Albums list of the music application. The problem existed with iOS 5.0 and is still there after upgrade to iOS 5.1.
Is there any way for me to get rid of the iTunes match artefacts on the iPhone? They are also dysfunctional, i.e. cannot be downloaded, played, etc...
    Kind regards,
    Andreas

After reading https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3593632? my problems are still the same:
I cannot delete the iTunes match albums from the phone similiar to not being able to play them
I cannot disable "show all music" as that would require me to enable iTunes match again on the phone which is what I don't want
I'm thinking about trying to re-enable, change the setting, wipe the albums, disable again and then sync with local library. I'll report after testing..

  • How to refresh iTunes Match on the iPhone?

    Hello,
I have around 12.000 songs on my iTunes AND iTunes Match (all have been matched / uploaded, no leftovers). When I turn on iTunes Match on my iPhone, it shows only 4200 tracks, not all the 12k.
"Ok, let's turn off iTunes Match on the iPhone and turn it on again and see if it performs a refresh".
I have then turned off iTunes Match on the iPhone, went back to the Music, and I saw that the 4200 tracks WERE STILL THERE, with the "download from the cloud" button. Weird, i have disabled iTunes Match on the Phone...
    "Let's try reboot the device"
I have then rebooted the iphone, closing all the applications before doing it, and after the reboot (iTunes Match still disabled on the device), THE SONGS WERE STILL THERE WITH THE DOWNLOAD BUTTON...
"Let's try turning itunes match on again, to see if the songs will be 12k"
Turned on iTunes Match again on the device, the tracks DID NOT CHANGE. Only 4200.
"But I want to play my music on my iphone!!! The tracks that were on the device have been deleted!!!"
    So my question is:
Is there a way to force the "Music" app on the iPhone to perform a FORCED REFRESH of the iTunes Match library? Turning iTMatch off and on doesn't work.
In the meantime, the only way for me to have my music on my iPhone is to turn iTMatch off, back up the iphone and perform a iPhone Restore... Seriously.

Thanks to kirbyfromtrenton, I have tracked down at least a partial fix for this problem:
1 - Turn off iTunes match in iTunes.
2 - Turn off iTunes match on the iPhone.
3 - Close iTunes and reopen.
    4 - Connect your iPhone.
5 - Go into your music folder for the iPhone and delete all the songs.
6 - Turn back on iTunes match in iTunes
7 - Turn back on iTunes match on the iPhone
All of my music is available once again, although I'm still not seeing my playlists or artwork. That could be because I'm overseas right now with a slow wi-fi connection though.

  • Error message when turning on iTunes Match on my iPhone 5

When I try to turn on iTunes Match on my iPhone 5, i get the following error message:
"You are not currently subscribed to iTunes Match. Use iTunes on your computer to subscribe."
I have subscribed. and I updated earlier today. I signed in and out of sharing.

Reading some older threads from 2012 and 2011 it appears the problem was present even then.  Part of the problem was due to people using multiple or different account id's on the various devices.  In my case, I only have one ID and it is the same on all devices yet the iPhone and iPad are still throwing the same error when I try turning on iTunes Match.  This is very frustrating . . . any help out there?  Thanks.

  • Ios 6.1 iTunes Match problems: (1) switch off (2) unplayable tracks

The new ios 6.1 operating system has reintroduced single downloads to iTunes Match but seems to have added some serious new problems:
    (1) Switching off iTunes Match on the iPhone 4S seems to have no effect. The Music app still pulls from the Cloud. I've tried restarts etc.
    (2) Many whole albums that had previously been successfully uploaded to iTunes Match and which were playable and downloadable on the phone before are now unusable. They show as bold listings in the track lists (ie they should be downloaded) and have no download arrows next to them. However when trying to play, the app just skips past them all without managing to play.
    (3) The "skipping" past issue seems to be happening with a large number of other tracks, whether downloaded or not.

I have had no problems with iTunes Match, until I updated to 6.1, it seems to work fine on my 4s but on my 4th gen ipad certain songs in the cloud won't play, when I click on it, skips to the next song when it worked just fine in 6.0... I searched for the song in iTunes and it says "play", but when I click on it the screen either turns completely black, with just the date and time at the top, or it goes back to the music app and skips to the next track....weird.... And everything plays just fine on my 4S running 6.1

  • ITunes Match on the iPhone 4 uses all free space

iTunes Match on the iPhone 4 uses all available space (8GB). The deactivation and reactivation does not work. The problem persists! Even unplugging the Apple ID and opening the Music app there are still all the artists, playlists, albums, etc. etc. (in the settings app music occupies 0 bytes! Have not saved songs). I have already restored three times! restarting iPhone available space returns to 8GB, opening the Music app after a few minutes iOS noted that the space is occupied.
iPad 2 and iPhone 3GS regularly work with the same Apple ID!
    Any advice?

I am also reporting the same behavior.  I, like billybaloney, have an almost "topped-out" iTunes Match collection (I actually have to manage keeping the matched content under the Apple 25K limit, but that is a different matter).  Whenever I open Music app on my phone - 4S, iOS 7.11 - I see my available storage go to nil, and I start getting the "Storage Almost Full" messages.  Which, if you have received them, also puts a significant drag on the performance of the device.
I am fully aware of the download locally (device) of "played" content, so I expect the number of songs and albums I have played to be resident on the phone after, and that requiring manual cleanup.  I can see this by taking the phone offline (airplane mode, or literally out of coverage), and then opening the Music app and seeing only what is truly on the device.
I suspect that the "eater of free space" in the iTunes Match arena, for users with a large library of iCloud selections, is as simple as the iTunes library info to render for selection (not the music, but the artist, album, song and playlist lists, and the album artwork).  Resetting your phone is a PITA for workaround.  Something needs to be done, but I have a feeling nothing will.  Or it will require an iOS update to a newer version that my devices won't be eligible to load.
Any insight or help would be great.  Workarounds are only that: work arounds.  Solution is what is needed.

  • HT4913 If the music library on my iPhone will be deleted when I enable iTunes Match, does that mean that I will not be able to access that music library when I temporarily turn off iTunes Match on the iPhone, e.g., when on the subway & can't connect to Ma

I have subscribed to iTunes Match and have employed it to listen to music on my Macbook Air and iMac.  On these devices it seems to operate by streaming music to the device rather than deleting the device's current iTunes library and downloading songs as they are played from iTunes Match. Not so on the iPhone as far as I can tell. Consequently, to date I have not activated iTunes Match on my iPhone 4S.  I presently have 40-50GB's of music on my iPhone, sync'd from my iTunes music library on my Macbook Air.  I am concerned that if I enable iTunes Match on my iPhone I will lose the music library already on my iPhone, as Apple seems to be representing that once iTunes Match is enabled on the iPhone the current music library, carefully compiled, will be gone from the iPhone forever (unless I later re-sync it from the iTunes library on my laptop), that it will be deleted.  Although this would free up a lot of space on my iPhone, I bought the 64GB phone just so that I could keep a lot of music on it and accessible at all times.  I am concerned that in certain instances, say if I am in the subway and want to listen to music on my iPhone but  don't have internet access below ground, that I won't have much music to listen to, only those songs previously played and thus downloaded onto the phone from iMatch, presenting me witrh a rather limited choice of music to play instead of the 40-50GB's I now have to choose from. Apple seems to have presented me with the choice of the lesser of 2 evils: i) enable iTunes Match and lose the music library already on the iPhone in exchange for access to iTunes Match and a greater number of songs than I can fit onto the phone (my library exceeds the phone's capacity) when a Cloud connection is available or ii) don't enable iTunes match and limit myself to only those songs, a considerable portion of my library to be sure but not all of it, that I can fit in the phone's storage space, i.e., the 40-50 GB's I have on there now.  If I choose the latter course, each time I purchase an album I'll have to delete another album to make room for it on the phone.  Apple thus offers me a sort of Hobson's choice, bad all the way around.  Do I have this right? The Apple techs I've spoken to don't seem to have a handle on the "deletion" aspect of enabling iTunes Match on the iPhone.   Right now, I'm too scared of "losing" my iPhone music library to enable iTunes Match on the iPhone. [Possible work-around, albeit a pain in the ***: I suppose that I can enable iTunes Match on the iPhone and spend the next couple of weeks 24/7 downloading songs from my iTunes Match library back onto the phone to replace at least some of those deleted when Match was enabled, thereby rebuilding a proxy library on the phone itself to play when I'm stuck in a tunnel between Brooklyn and Manhattan while maintaining access to thee larger iTunes Match library, more music than my phone will hold, once we come back into the light and my Cloud connection is restored.] Comments, suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you.

  • How do you stop downloading itunes match songs to iphone 5

How do you stop downloading itunes match songs to iphone 5?
Cell data is turned off but it is still downloading.

When you initially enable iTunes Match on any iDevice it is wise to let it operate for a good period docked or with good WiFi.
Best route to stop it if essential is to switch off iTunes Match.

  • I turned on itunes match on my iphone, but still seeing lots of artists without the cloud icon???

    Hi ...
I turned on itunes match on my iphone, selected "enable" and first turned OFF the slider that says "show ALL music" ... I still saw a bunch of artists (about 100)
Then I turned the slider to ON and saw about 600 artists (as it should be), but those 100 artists do NOT have the cloud icon next to them (meaning that somehow the music is actually "ON" the iphone) ...
can someone explain?? I thought it would be empty except for icloud, and then the things I download from icloud??

If they do not have the cloud next to them on your iOS device, it means that the song is cached on your device.  As your device runs low on space, it clears the cached songs and you'll see the cloud next to it.  Each time you listen to a song, the song is actually downloaded while you listen.  Next time you listen, it's off the device, not the cloud.

  • Can I purchase and turn on iTunes match from my iPhone 5 with out a computer? And if so how?

Can I purchase and turn on iTunes Match from my iPhone 5 with out a computer? And if so how?

You can't do it from your phone. If they are iTunes purchased songs then you should be able to copy them to your laptop via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. For music from other sources, anf i you haven't got them on your backup of your library, then you will need a third-party program on your computer to copy them back - there are some listed half-way down this page which might work : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
