ITunes Match says "Matching your music with songs from iTunes store".
iTunes Match says "Matching your music with songs from iTunes store". This will not finish. I cannot put any new songs on iTunes Match. This started today. It was working fine. I have deleted my entire library and I can't even get one song to go through. Thoughts? I've been working with this all day. I have uninstalled iTunes, downgraded iTunes, upgraded iTunes again. Finally, I erased all data...Libraries...playlist data, etc.. I'm extremely frustrated now. I had synced about 4,000 songs since September and it had been working fine. Any help would be great.
I think your right that it is not completely impossible to match any song, although I have tried several songs from several different albums and none have worked so far. The weird thing is is that I have the same Match account on two different computers, and when I match a song on one and it gets stuck, I can see it in my library on the other computer but its greyed out. Not sure what that means. It has worked perfeclty for me since I got it in March, so I'm hoping whatever it is gets sorted out by Apple. If it starts working for any of you please let me know in this discussion!

After software update, I can see the songs on iPod nano in iTunes, but I cannot play/move the songs from iTunes.
Is the "software update" for iTunes 12? Or something you did to the iPod?

My old PC died but the hard drive is still functional and accessible using a USB extraction device. I purchased a new PC and downloaded the latest iTunes but attempts to transfer the iTunes folder with songs from the old hard drive to my new computer failed. Only 20 of approx 300 songs transferred. All other non music file transfers (WORD, EXCEL, etc) from the old hard drive to the new computer were successful. Is this a file type issue? Any thoughts?? THANKS!

How do I transfer a song from itunes to my ipod (they are connected). The Apple help files are truly pathetic in this fundamental function.
For example they say click on the "summary" button ... I find no summary button anywhere on my screen. How's that for a confidence builder? This talks about iTunes 10, but it should work the same way in iTunes 11. Transferring purchases for an iDevice to your Mac.

It should be File>Devices>Transfer Purchases, I think
You must be using the same Apple ID in iTunes on your Mac that your son is using on the Mini or the movie will not transfer. -
Pretty much as it says above. I don't want to loose all my old songs that weren't downloaded and am wondering if there's anyway that I can make sure there safe to connect it to a new laptop with no music on at present.
Any help or advice would be great :-)
ThanksThanks for trying, no it did not help. The article describes getting song from apple devices to PC, not the other way around. I will try ringing tech support tomorrow.
Thanks anyway. -
I created multiple libraries and multiple locations for music of different genres; however, in the end I decided that I wanted to keep all of my music in one location and to have just one iTunes library. The problem is that when I go to delete a song from my iTunes library, I no longer have the option to remove the file from my computer as well. This is because the my iTunes library and the location of my music files were not in my iTunes music folder (http://forums.ilounge.com/itunes-mac-pc/119629-delete-songs-itunes-library-compu ter-together.html). I tried changing the iTunes Media Folder location (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1364), but that didn't solve. Then I tried reinstalling iTunes: I figured that starting fresh would put my iTunes library in the right location so that I would have this option again, but it didn't work. (When reinstalling, I got an error message that 6D5Dubs, the name of my last iTunes library, couldn't be found. I clicked 'OK' and was asked to 'Choose was asked to 'Choose library...' or 'Create Library'. I created a library since I had deleted the other ones in my attempt to start fresh) Any suggestions? Note: I find the CTRL+R solution tedious for my purposes.
Some extra info:
Running Windows 7, 64bit
Location of my music files - C:\Users\John\Music\Music
or
Libraries>Music>Music
Location of my iTunes library - C:\Users\John\Music\iTunes\iTunes Music Library
or
Libraries>Music>iTunes>Itunes Music Library

Some of my music is missing from iTunes Match and I can't add it manually.
I seem to have remembered being able to manually add any new music I got to the cloud by simply right clicking on an album or a song in iTunes. Now it seems as if that doesn't work anymore. I just got some new music and it's not showing up in my iPhone or iPad. Please help.
The issue lies with the info in each song/album. Since iTunes match tries to match your library with songs from their own library, the info in each album needs to show the specified artist and song names so iTunes Match can recognize it. (see this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/17055402#17055402)
That solved my issue. I changed the album artist to be the artist name only and re-logged in to iTunes Match, then checked my phone and it was there.
Thanks. -
ITunes Match isn't Download my Songs From iTunes
So I just bought iTunes Match, and I decided to do a little test. I took a song that I got from a CD (We Found Love by Rihanna) and I changed the name and album and everything so that it matched the song "International Love (feat. Chris Brown)" by Pitbull. I right clicked the song and clicked "Add to iCloud". And after a couple seconds it said that it "matched" the song to iTunes, not uploaded. I deleted the song from iTunes and from my computer and emptied the Trash too. Then I clicked the little cloud beside the song. It downloaded the song, and it had the right artwork for it, but when I played the song, it played "We Found Love". Am I missing something? Because this doesn't make any sense to me!
The matching process uses waveform analysis. I have had songs titled "track o1" get matched.
If it didn't work this way, you could duplicate the same song several times, rename it and basically steal music from the iTunes store, something I don't think Apple would be too happy about. -
. All that music is in Music library on iTunes and plays well has been purchased with the same Apple id. On Windows -7, iTunes 10.5.
. Under previous purchased icon on iTunes all music shows downloaded.
. Unchecked music Sync from iTunes > removed all songs from the phone.
. Tried syncing manually just 1 song and got the same error "1 item could not be synced check iTunes for explanation " and there is no message on iTunes.
. We deleted all the Songs from iTunes and now re-adding.
. If this does not work then I will be testing with re-creating a new Library and testing in a new user account..
Does anyone have a better idea...?Hi firmflange,
That definitely sounds frustrating! I have actually encountered this same behavior in the past, and switching out the USB to 30-pin cable was the resolution (hardware issue with the cable). Does the same behavior occur when you use a different cable?
If so, we may need to troubleshoot the USB connection on your computer. Refer to this article:

Should I remove duplicate songs from itunes before connecting new ipad2
Bought new iPad2. New to Apple. Have to connect to iTunes. Should I remove all duplicate songs from iTunes first, before connecting new iPad 2?
Download the zip, and run the program you find: http://ottodestruct.com/blog/2006/01/31/easier-to-use-itunes-scripts/
If you're leery and want more references, do a search for "Quickscripts" and you'll see what people have to say about it!
Good luck! -
I need to email a song for a show I am in. How do I email one song from iTunes?
Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
The simplest way to send one song from iTunes via email is to drag the song from iTunes onto the desktop, open Mail (or your internet email program), and then upload/Attach the song from the desktop. -
If I erase all settings and content will I be able to get all my content and music back by syncing with iTunes on my computer. This is a nightmare. I have downloaded I tunes match and lost 1000 songs!,,
if you have all the music that you want in your itunes and you sync your iphone with it, all the music will transfer, if you have enough gig
