have set up itunes match on mac. this works fine linked to apple tv. my man wants to 'add computer' from itunes held on a pc. he is unable to do this. link to the apple store takes a while, can sign in using apple id but....accessto itunes match is very slow and only brings up a limited page with no graphics. there is an option for 'add computer' but it does nothing. missing something?

To add another computer, that computer must be signed into your iTunes Store account.

Does this update fix the fact that once iTunes is launched I can no longer quit the program (it automatically restarts) and it won't let me shut down the computer (or force quit) or restart. This problem just started. Once launched, you can't quit iTunes and you can't shut down your computer. You can't install software or perform any function that requires iTunes to be closed. I have searched the web and have found other users with the same issue but no real solutions (or reasons why it is happening). It is weird that iTunes has a mind of its own and can just cancel shut down or restart. It immediately relaunches if you force quit. I no longer can listen to my music because I am afraid to launch iTunes! I was able to choose restart once and then shut down from the restart screen the first time it happened but after that it would not even let me restart. It is like it learns how you are working around iTunes to shut down your computer and then it figures out how to cancel it. Eerie and annoying. Any ideas? Itunes Freezes ,slow and won't allow search

When i start itunes it freezes momentarily, is very slow and won't allow me to put more than two letters in Search box before freezing. Everything else runs on pc fine.
Anybody any ideas? Using 10.2.1.1 but I've installed different versions but same problems.
Any help would be appreciated as it's driving me nuts!

Good old fashioned XP. I run it on other pc's with XP with no problems. Tried running various old versions but no luck. I'm sure it must be blindingly obvious to somebody who knows what they're doing!

I had a similar issue wuth my new Apple TV. If you (or your roommate) are able to change the router firewall settings, do that first. I don't know the ports that you need, except that 123 is one of them (to set the time). Then restart the Apple TV. See if that will get you through the activation process. I actually ended up restoring mine to factory settings, but I'm not sure if that step was really necessary.
I understand your frustration, though. Getting the Apple TV to work was such a pain -- it almost feels like it is not really an Apple product.

Do you get any specific error messages? Double-check the following:
On the summary tab of your iTunes sync settings you have checked "Sync only checked songs and videos"
In your music library you have checked all the songs you want to sync to your phone
There are no exclamation points next to any of the songs you want to sync to your phone
You have authorized your computer for all Apple IDs for any purchased music you want to sync to your phone (in Store>Authorize this computer)
You have checked "Sync Music" on the Music tab of your iTunes sync settings
When everything looks correct, sync your phone.

I have my grandfather's old computer. I have deauthorized his account and authorized mine, it still only has his music and won't allow me to access his. So I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it, only to have the same problem on the new iTunes. Help?

Yeah... that's how it works. Signing into iTunes does not magically make a library appear.
If you have an iTunes library (media purchased from iTunes) then YOU need to put it on the computer.
Also, since the computer is no longer authorized for his account, any media associated with his account will not be playable.

Apps won't sync from iTouch to computer. iTunes recognizes the iTouch and the app content, but the content is grayed out on the computer screen and won't allow me to sync. My iTouch is version 4.2.1 with 6.8GB capacity.

Your iPod can only be synced with one iTunes library at a time. If you try to add content to it from another computer it will erase the contents of your iPod and replacement it with the contents of the new library.
In regards to the unstableness, have you tried a hard reset to see if that makes a difference? To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

I deauthorized my 2 Macs, how do I get them reauthorized? I can't access my music, it's in the cloud and won't allow access unless computer is authorized.

I deauthorized all computers from iTunes to get rid of an old computer. Now I cannot get my current 2 Macs re-authorized, hence cannot play my music.... it is in the cloud and will not play because the computers are "not authorized." You have to put the phone into recovery mode before you can restore it. First, turn the phone off. Second, while holding down the home button, connect the phone to the computer, and keep holding down the home button until you see the iTunes logo on the face of the phone (this is recovery mode). Next you should see a message on iTunes on your computer say something like "in order to use this phone you have to restore it from recovery mode.." This will allow you to access your phone! Hope this helps.

Itunes deleted all my playlists and made a new one and won't allow others!

I plugged in my ipod nano, and it automatically deleted all my songs and moved them all into a new playlist called...(my name) Ipod selection. I have tried, rebooting my ipod, i have tried deleting all of my playlists...cause they still show that they exist in itunes, and re-making all of my playlists. No matter what I do it won't let me have ANY playlists but the ipod selection one. Any ideas how i can fix this and get playlists back??

you can choose which playlists will sync using that option. while the ipod is connected and showing up in your itunes sourcelist, go "edit > preferences, and click on the "ipod" tab. deselect "ipod selection" in your list of playlists there, and select the ones that you want to have transfer.
