ITunes Match stops after step 3

Hi,
I am not able to finish the iTunes Match workflow. Step 1 & 2 are going through successfully, but when it comes to step 3 (loading graphics and songs) it sometime is loading a few articles and then stops. The button on the bottom right corner change to "Start". when I start it again it shows the same behavior and I am not able to finishing the process.
Any help or hints would be highly appreciate
Johannes

I am having the same problem. I have 6000 songs that are waiting to be uploaded (they are all unprotected 256kbps AAC files). When iTunes Match reaches step 3, it seems to upload 1 or 2 songs and then stops. Sometimes it doesn't upload anything. What is going on?

You've tried tapping on the Collections button at the top of the bookshelf to see if they are in a different collection ? If not then do you have a copy of them in the Books part of your computer's iTunes library (though PDFs aren't iTunes purchases, if you've done 'transfer purchases' whilst they were on the iPad then they should have copied over) ?
ibooks and PDFs aren't included in a device's backup, so if they aren't in your computer's iTunes library and/or you don't have your own backup copy of them then they won't be on your computer (for info there isn't an iBooks app/program for a Mac or PC).

  • ITunes Match stop at step 3 on the same music.

My iTunes Match freezed at step 3 on the same music. I tried to stop and restart but it didn't change.

Start deleting songs from your library that require to be uploaded and each time you do an album update match and see if it goes further.
Be sure to check that box that also deletes it from the cloud also.
If it does not go any further move to the next album until you find the one that is holding it up.
I don't know any other way to tell you to do it.
Just start deleting songs that require you to upload until you find the right one.
At least you don't have 5,000 to check.  You only have 700 or so.
If you had to delete them all and then re add them into your library it really isn't that many.

  • Itunes match stopped during step 2. On Windows 7 machine.

I had ITunes Match running and it seems to have stopped approximately 17 songs from end during step 2.
I stopped and restarted iTunes match, no change.
I have restarted the Windows machine, again no change.
    Any suggestions?

Taken as a whole, the symptoms suggest that another application (other than QuickTime itself) has stashed old QuickTime componentry in your system files.
So just in case we'll go looking for older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
    Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
    Open the "Windows" folder.
    Open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

  • ITunes Match stops at step 2!!

i just started to use iTunes Match, it goes all trought the first step but when it comes to the second it restarts the all process. So first step ok, and the second starts every time with 635 songs out of 4000 already scanned but arount 1600-1800 it restarts from step one.... this is been going for about 24h... i tried restarting iTunes, disable iTunes Match and restarting my mac but nothing worked. Is it possible that is an Apple problem? not mine?
    HHHHEEEEEELLLLLPPPPPP

Having the same issue. The best Apple can say is they think it's my connection, which is absurd, since iCloud is seamlessly updating my contacts and calendar, and the whole point of WiFi is NOT to plug in. I've read some people have had to delete their iTunes libraries and re-add; I think  I'm going to seek a refund. Disgusted.

  • HT204406 Itunes match stops loading after step 2

Itune stops fontionning after Itunes Match has loaded step 2.  Why?

    Hi there
I was having this same issue after re-enabling iTunes Match despite it having worked previously.
It turned out to be a problem with some of the new tracks i'd added since the last time it was enabled. To locate them, I had to wait until the match process was on step 2 and got to the point where it stopped matching. It got to something like 9822 of 9870 songs.
In the songs view I then changed the visible fields to include the iCloud Status field, then sorted the songs by this field.
When I scrolled to the bottom there were the exact number of remaining songs sitting on the "Waiting" status. All of these were new additions. I removed them from the library and retried the match and it completed perfectly. I'm now re-adding the songs back into the library one album at a time to see if they will match now.
    Fingers crossed...

  • Itunes crashes when iTunes Match runs its Step 3 (not before) - any ideas why and how to fix it?

Every time iTunes runs the iTunes Match, when iTunes MAtch gets to Step 3 - iTunes stops working - ie crashes. Any idea why and how to fix it? The songs are still uploaded to iCloud etc... but it crashe iTunes every single time

I cannot explain the failure, but I can tell you that I have a string of approx. 24 emails with Apple and a combined 10hrs of talk time with Apple customer reps that tried helping me precisely for the issue that iTunes Match would crash at Step 3 without fail. Apple even logged my Console and I was talking to an engineer that literally wrote part of the code for iTunes Match (that was the fourth and last level of customer care I was escalated to). The poor man almost quite his job, and I just about demanded a refund for my $25, since iTunes Match simply wasn't working.
Then I studied at a friend's place, and I noticed that all of a sudden, while iTunes was running in the background, half my library was already uploaded and things were progressing smoothly. It turns out that it had something to do with my modem specifically, as I had already hooked up my computer straight to the modem, taking the router (TimeCapsule) out of the equation. Nothing worked. Firewalls were turned off, no AntiVirus existed, and Apple engineers tried everything possible, incl. remote access on my computer, to get this to work. Nothing worked as long as I was connected to a Motorola Surboard.
At every other network, wether at Starbucks, my university, or at friends places, however, iTunes Match worked flawlessly.
After some research online, it turnes out that a handful of people with Motorola Surrboard Xtreme cable modems had similar issues. Eversince, I simply use my neighbors wifi should I need to upload songs, and I have no issues. Oddly enough, matching (not uploading) works just fine with my Motorola.
Don't ask me how or why, I am interested in computers and work with them a lot, but I am no engineer. I can tell you that simple scientific method pinpointed to the modem, and I haven't had issues since then.

  • When I sync my iPhone it stops after step 4 of 5.

When I sync my iPhone it stops after step 4 of 5. iTunes aborts the sync process without any further error message. Anyone have a solution?

It does say in the iTunes status window.
If for music, try deselecting Sync Music under the Music tab followed by a sync. This will remove all music from your iPhone.
Follow this by reselecting Sync Music making your selections below followed by another sync.

I have an iPhone 4 on IOS5. I signed up for itunes match. After everything uploaded to the cloud, my songs are messed up. I'll select a song and the title will show with the right art work but a different song will start playing.  Some songs won't play at all even though they do appear in the itunes store. The artwork almost always shows u blank until you turn it to landscape then it will appear. Anyone know what's going on?

I have found that scrolling through the album list (past albums without art) triggers the progress wheel next to the wifi symbol. You can scroll quickly through the whole collection and then wait! Artwork will appear gradually...
However, repeat visits to the Music App might initially show no artwork again, but it might spontaneously appear more quickly this time. The bad news is that the whole Music App is now sluggish as ****...

i bought itunes match  but after change my computer ( account is the same)..why i need to buy itunes match again?

When you are done with this issue, consider the computer back at the office may still
have access to your iTunes account, and it should be de-auhorized. You can do that
remotely, but be sure you carefully do not mess up your other computer iTunes libraries.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Itunes match stop to check songs only one song before the end

Itunes Match stop checking songs just one before reaching the last one. I.E checked 3201 but it should 3201 songs checked??

Hi - You have made sure the song plays entirely on your actual machine, right?
Additionally, if you select the song and GET INFO it will open a new window. Check the OPTIONS tab and make sure the song START TIME and END TIME jive with the actual length of the song. I've somehow altered this incorrectly when attempting to change the volume.
Also, you can check the preferences panel, the PLAYBACK tab and set the CROSS FADE at none.
If neither of these do it, sounds like the actual song file maybe damaged whereas your computer can read/play it yet it's truncated or damaged just enough that your iPod isn't syncing the entire song. You can figure that out by simply comparing the file sizes.
You may also consider updating thru 10.4.11. I know this included a lot of iPod software updates. I'm currently running iPod software 1.0.3.
    Good Luck, chris

Make sure that the system time and date on your computer are set correctly.
If "I Understand the Risks" is missing then this page may be opened in an (i)frame and in that case try the right-click context menu and use "This Frame: Open Frame in New Tab".
You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
*Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
*Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer of the certificate.
You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane.
Note that some firewalls monitor secure (https) connections and send their own certificate instead of the website's certificate.

  • Itunes match stopped working

My iTunes Match stopped working on my iPhone 4.  I was using it all day yesterday, and in the evening, it stopped!  Now, I can't play any song off the cloud OR any that was saved to my iPhone.  Does anyone know why?  Did I do something?

This happened to me today, as well. Songs in the cloud would not play when selected on either my iPhone or my computer. Turning off iTunes Match, then turning it back on fixed the problem. I had to do this separately for both the phone and the computer. I hope that this helps someone.

so how do I remove that song without deleting it? (That was my question before -- sorry, I'm not trying to be willfully obtuse -- I just don't understand how to do it.)
If you know the one track that is causing a crash delete it from the iTunes library by highlighting it and typing Option+Delete on the keyboard. In the dialog choose the option to "keep files."
    Faisane wrote:
Why do I have so many unmatched songs? Does changing the Album, Artist, Song information (which I often do because I don't really like the classical music descriptors automatically provided) make the title unmatchable?
Because the matching process is not 100% accurate; or you have an older mastering of an album that did match to what is in the store; or something in your library is not availble in the store. In short your library simply will not "match" 100%. There will be a percentage that must be uploaded.
