ITunes Match/Storage Issues

I have a 16 GB iPhone 4, and I recently purchased iTunes Match, hoping to clear up some space on my phone to download iOS 7, since my music would now be stored in the Cloud. Now, when I plug in my iPhone to sync, it says that I have 8.9 GB of music on my phone, yet somehow have 10 GB free. The Cloud icons are not next to songs in my library when I pull it up on my phone.
How is this possible? Can I delete the music off of my phone at this point?

TS4124 iTunes Match storage?

I have an iPad 3 & iPhone 4S. I have iTunes Match w/ about 1500 songs. I am still having storage issues where my iPad states that I am using 6.5GB of my 16GB storage for music. I thought w/ Match it stored everything on the cloud not on the device? I've been trying to update apps but its saying I don't have enough storage and that's how I saw how much my music is taking up. Any way I can fix this?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
iTunes match does keep all your content in the cloud, but you need to download it to a device to play it. If after playing something you don't want it on your device anymore, delete it by swiping.

ITunes match storage full error on I devices

If I have iTunes match enabled on i devices it comes up with the message saying say storage is full. I haven't downloaded any songs at all I just stream it. I have never had this issue before until it was time to renew iTunes Match

When you 'stream' music from the cloud it will cache the song on your device (i.e take up storage space). To clear this cache go to Settings -> General -> Usage -> Music then swipe right to left on 'All Music' and select delete. The space will be cleared.
I would have thought though that the system would clear the cache if more space to 'stream' a song is needed.

Itunes match ios7 issues...

I have the iphone 5s with itunes match enabled on it. For the past couple weeks my playlists will act like the songs that I once donwloaded to my device are no longer there. They show the cloud icon next to them. When I go into the artists menu, the songs are certainly there, but now the song has doubled and the old downloaded song is no longer attached to the playlist, but rather the new cloud song is. This is getting very frustrating, because it happens very randomly. I have tried to disable my itunes match then re-enable it, but that no longer works. Has anyone else had this issue? If so what can be done to fix it. I have already reset device with a fresh install, did not help. Thanks in advance.

I have noticed the same thing and I just upgraded to a 5s a few days ago... It didn't happen on my 4s running IOS7. Its a 64gb 5s and havent really figured a way around it yet. I also noticed it is only happening to tracks that are uploaded from lossless tracks not any itunes store bought tracks.

Itunes match having issues playing some of my songs

I recently got itunes match over winter break and it's been working pretty well. Although I do have some issues with playback. I noticed some songs just get skiped over. I have deleted them off icloud and my itunes and resynced them back on but icloud still manages to skip over them. Can anyone else tell me how I can get icloud to play the songs.

If it happens again, do NOT delete the songs from your library. Rather, highlight and choose "Convert ID3 tags..." Pick a likely value, such as v2.3, and after the conversion, try to play them.
iTunes tends to be finicky/strict/incompetent (pick your own interpretation) about the ID3 tags in MP3 files, and a conversion is often enough to fix the problem.
If the song is no longer in your library, you can resort to a 3rd party tag fixing program.

iTunes Match is for up to 25000 songs, iCloud storage is separate and they provide different functions. If you subscribe to iTunes Match then you don't use any of your iCloud allowance for storing your music (iCloud is for backing your photos, documents, files etc.). Also iTunes purchases aren't included in your iCloud allowance, what you can re-download from the store depends upon what country that you are in

The songs you uploaded to iTunes Match don't take iCloud storage. iCloud storage is designed to store files on iCloud, and it's not affected by other services like iTunes Match. You can store up to 250,000 songs without worrying about the iCloud storage

Apple TV ( 2&3) - iTunes Match playlist issue

After the latest firmware update none of my ATVs (3 of, 2 ATV2 and 1 ATV3) allow my ITunes Match playlists to be selected using either the ATV remote or iPhone Remote App. When playlists are selected the ATV appears to reset (white LED flashes and connection to iPhone dropped). It is however possible to access playlists successfully using the iPad Remote App??? This ***** as I have my music library stored in the cloud and regularly played music via the ATVs, my son had some of his own playlists which he now gets upset he can't access. Come on Apple sort this out , your loyal customers are getting frustrated by your one step forward & another step back software upgrade program.

However you are incorrect, other people have had this problem, search in iTunes- iTunes Match- discussions for "ITunes crashes when loading playlists on Apple TV".
Interestingly my ATV had an update tonight ( looks like a roll back to me) as the crashing problem has cleared but the previous issue I was having ( and had not reported yet) has reoccurred. The problem is that I have many playlists in ITunes and subsequently in Match however my ATV only shows the first 24 - again frustrating and similarly you can access all the playlists if you connect with iPad remote App but not with the iPhone remote app??

ITunes Match/iCloud issue.

I have itunes match and uploaded my libaray. There are songs that are not showing up on my phone which say are matched, aac, and 256 in itunes/cloud.

I don't think that you have a similar issue to OP.

Match does not strip out the Sample Rate. If tracks are matched, it shows the standard sample rate of 44,100 but unknown when tracks are uploaded (probably because Apple does not capture this on such tracks). If you have an iCloud status of "Waiting" and a blank sample rate, this suggests that the match / upload process was not completed.
If you have not already solved your problem, I suggest that you delete those tracks and then read them to your iTunes library. Once you have matched or uploaded them, you can delete from your hard drive but not the cloud.

ITune Match download issues. Stuck.

I downloaded iTune Match yesterday and it seems to be permanently stuck on song 3180 of 3800. Not moving forward, not doing anything. I did restart the process with the exact same result. OSx 10.9.3 update on iTunes. I did go to iTunes store to see if I could edit iTunes match but it's not even highlighted so I can't turn it off and turn it back on again (as suggested in another thread)
What next?

Contact support with your problems https://getsupport.apple.com/Issues.action. Select connecting and downloading then iTunes Match.

ITunes Match Sync Issues - pls help!!

I have itunes on my PC and wanted to be able to play/access my itunes & playlists from my ipad mini, so i thought itunes match would help with this.
The problem is that itunes match only shows songs that i have recently purchased on my ipad or my ipod. My ipod is now useless as it is only synching the songs i have purchased since getting itunes match. Which are very few.
I have heard that i need to delete all my songs on my hard drive and download all songs from the iCloud as solution. Doesn't sound right. If i stop using itunes match, then i lose all my playlists. I can deal with that, but then i dont have access to my songs from my ipad either, which is useful for the wireless speakers that are around the house. Frustrated to say the least.
I am sure i cant be the only person with this issue. Hope someone can help.

ITunes Match sync issues

Hi all, I am in dire need of some help on this one, have multiple problems.
1) My mother recently got an iPad 2 and a new iPod Touch and today she wanted to get her iPod and iPad synced together automatically, which brought the iTunes Match into play. I configured the iTunes Match on her account on my laptop, but of course there was a problem with my own iTunes library being auto-synced with her - we didn't want that at all. Is there a way of deleting this match and creating a new match on an empty iTunes to start afresh? Important note: I have already tried restoring it to factory settings to no avail.
2) She bought a song from the store on her iPad and wanted it to sync with her iPod and go on there too. When she bought the song on her iPad a message flashed up on her iPod saying a purchase had been made and she should turn on automatic music downloads. She did that, but the song never materialised on her iPod despite it being there on her iPad. I'm not sure what the issue is here, if the iPod recognised there had been a purchase, why didn't the song get transferred?
3) As a result of all this iTunes Match nonsense, I tried to go back to standard iPod music adding by manually transferring a song when it was connected via USB. I kept getting a message saying something along the lines of "this iPod Touch is using iTunes Match so some songs weren't added." Is this a permanent problem? What can I do to fix it?
4) Final question, is there a way of completely removing iTunes Match, as if it was never on the devices in the first place?
I just want to get my mother's iPod back to how a normal iPod should work, being able to manually add songs with none of this iCloud syncing nonsense. This is easily the worst experience I've had with iTunes in all my years of being an iPod user.

ITunes Match Storage Space Usage

I am considering purchasing iTunes Match. How much space does iTunes Match use on an iOS device? Can one control this size? Does it store all the songs you have listened to or have some other caching algorithm?

Songs are stored only if you donwload them.
If you stream them they are put into a cache which will delete when that space is needed.

Itunes movie storage issues

All my movies are stored on an external HD. When I import them into itunes it duplicates the file on my mac HD under the itunes folder.
How do I keep it from doing this so it doesnt eat up space on my mac HD?

It sounds as if you have your iTunes preferences set to copy your files into the iTunes Media folder when adding them to your library. You can change this preference by going to the iTunes menu > Preferences > Advanced > Uncheck the Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library. See this article -
