ITunes Match unable to match?

I enabled match yesterday. About 3,800 songs were recognised straight away.
About 600 were not recognised so had to be uploaded but it was stuff from CD rips like The Beatles - Let It Be. This is currently available in iTunes and I used the grace note database originally, which is part of iTunes, to recognise these tracks and others for listing info and album images.
Seems the option to simply upload you tracks, 14 hours worth at 90KB at second, is too easily used.
Also, can you prompt your uploaded cloud data to be replaced with Apple's version? My CDs are old recordings of The Beatles, prior to the remastered versions of the CDs.

I will be surprised if we don't get the forced upload option in the future. There isn't any downside that I can see for Apple, and with The Beatles being affected I imagine they are getting quite a bit of feedback on it.
It is also an issue for a lot of people with songs matching with clean versions.
I wouldn't want it to result in a relaxing of the match criteria though. Whilst it would be handy to be able to force an upload, most people aren't going to check the matches until they listen to them. I've signed up for this service so that I can listen to my music away from home, so it will still be annoying if I'm trying to listen to an album and I find that there are odd versions of the songs included. The fact that I may be able to clean it up later isn't going to help the listening experience at the time. I suspect that Apple would be inundated with complaints if that was happening a lot.
Apple are marketing this as having your collection online, not some rough representation of your collection.
Some people are also suggesting a "forced match" option, which is extremely unlikely, as it will give people the option of saying that those 30 random tracks in their library are actually The White Album. I can't imagine the Record Companies allowing that, and I suspect that you were right that the industry may have had some say in the matching procedure being quite tight.

Not sure what version of Norton you have but here is a link to the support site explaining how to properly configure your firewall settings for specific programs. This is for Norton 2007, they should have links to other versions as well.

I'm not certain I understand the problem: have you re-installed iTunes 6 and now are unable to purchase iTunes Store music?
I have an iPod Mini and have used it flawlessly with iTunes 7 on both a G5 iMac and a G4 Cube under 10.4.7, so "incompatibility" is not the issue here.
iTunes 6.0.5 indeed does continue to allow iTunes Store music purchases...if your problem persists, get back to us here with more info!

  • ITunes Match fails to match recently ripped CD. Can I avoid matching this CD?

I have a CD from a band that is not available on iTunes that I've loaded to my MacBook Pro. As expected iTunes Match can't match this album. As a result, iTunes Match fails to proceed past the third step of the matching process and continously loops. How can I stop this album from being part of the match process?

    Hi,
What format have you ripped the CD? There are problems with some ALAC and AIFF files.
If the cd is in your iTunes library, there is no way of stopping match process. Once cd has been uploaded there is a workaround to make remove the tracks from the cloud and not your library.
However, to resolve your current problem you may need to delete the tracks.

How old was this backup? It sounds like it was at least several weeks old.
You can look directly in the TM backup for the music.
    1. Connect to the external HDD the backup is kept on.
    2. Open a Finder window and select the backup drive in the left hand panel. Double click into the folders until you see a list of folders with dates.
These are the incremental backups. You can start at the top or the bottom of the list but I suggest you double Latest/<HDD Name>/Users/<Account Name>/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music. From this location you can start looking for the "missing" music. When/if you find it you can simply drag-n-drop to ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music on the internal HDD.
If the music is actually not in the backups (for whatever reason) then you've got a problem.
You can download the uploaded files from the cloud by deleting the affected tracks from the iTunes library (but not the cloud!), highlighting multiple tracks at once, right-clicking and choosing "download."

  • My iTunes library no longer matches the music on my iPhone.

My iTunes library no longer matches the music on my iPhone.  How can I sync the music and playlists from my phone onto iTunes without iTunes completely wiping all the music on my iPhone? I'm also afraid I'll lose any newer music.

Plug the device into your computer, open iTunes and sync it.
Why would you be afraid you will lose your new music?
Ideally you should be connecting your device to your computer to transfer purchases made on the device to the computer and the iTunes library on a regular basis.  Failure to do this puts you at risk of losing those purchases (and the money you spent on them) in the event your device fails, is lost, or stolen.

  • I have all my music in iTunes and have "Music Match" turned on.  Apparently, I also have music on my iPhone 5.  I need to free up space on my iPhone.  If I delete the music on my phone, will it still be available to me on my phone via the cloud?

The same is true for photo's.  I have too many photo's on my phone taking up space.  Now I realize I can remove a lot of the photo's via sync options, but ...

This can happen if iTunes gets confused about what is and isn't on the device. These steps should resolve.
    Backup the device.
    Restore as a new device.
    Restore the backup made earlier.

  • Albums in iTunes Store but not matching

    Hi,
I stumped up my £21.99 last night and sent iTunes Match off to do it's thing. I'm on pretty crummy ADSL connection so the resulting upload (some 5,000 'items' from an iTunes library of 6,500 songs!) will no doubt take a while.
Howevre, I've noticed a HUGE amount of songs for which there is no iCloud/iTunes Match icon. My Library does contain the odd obscurity, but really not that many - and if a track is obscure/incompatible wiht Match then there would be an icon there, albeit the cloud with the line through it (which incidently is often toitally unjustified... AAC file created on a Mac above the min kbs, but that's another thread).
I've done a bit of chekcing an most of he songs/albums that have no iTunes Match/iCloud icon are songs and albulms that are available in the iTunes Store. Most of them I've ripped myslef from purchased CDs (above the min kbs). I thought the idea of Match was that it would recognise songs it (iTunes) sells and will match them?
At the moment far too many of my songs are simply being ignored by the Matching process. There's also many instances where there might be one song on an album that has no icon, and simialrly there are some albums where all except one song has an icon.
    Thought/ideas/tips?
    Thanks

Firstly, you need to turn on the iTunes Status column in the iTunes browser. That will tell you how the song is actually being identified. Pull down View > View Options, select "icloud status" and click the OK button. Once a song is successfully processed it will have a status of either "matched" or "uploaded." Which leads me to...
Secondly, once a track in your iTunes library is successfully processed it will not have a cloud icon in the "iCloud Download" column. There will only be something in that column if the song has not yet been processed by iTM (it is "waiting), there is some sort of error, or the original track has been deleted from the library and it is availble for download from the cloud.
Thirdly, just because a song is available in the iTunes store does not automatically mean it will be "matched." There have been a lot of discussions about this on the forum. Please do a search and you'll be able to read them.

I accidentally deleted a folder of music from iTunes.  I have Match, and now it seems deleted from all my devices.  How can I get it back?

Were you in iTunes or the Finder? If you were in iTunes what exactly did you click? You say "a folder" but the only "folders" in iTunes contain Playlists and deleting a playlist will not delete tracks from the iTunes library.
When you deleted the music were you prompted to delete the tracks from the cloud? If so, did you do so?
Were you prompted to move the files to the Trash. If so did you do so? If you did have you emptied the Trash?

  • HT4915 If an unmatched(unavailable on iTunes)album is uploaded to iCloud and then later becomes available in the iTunes store, how do I get iTunes to try to match the song again?

I have checked the box to delete it from iCloud.  However, when I put the songs back into iTunes and run a match, it appears Itunes has "remembered" that I uploaded them previously and doesn't look if there is a match in the store.  It is really frustrating because I know the files are there on iTunes, and I want to upgrade them with the 256 ACC iTunes match version.  Any help?

If you downloaded it on your computer's iTunes then it should be in the Books part of your library, if you downloaded it on an iOS device then it should be in the Music app on it. If it's not there, and you don't have a copy of it on your backup of your library, then you will need to try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will grant you a re-download (audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store, which I believe is a requirement from audible.com who supply them) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • MIRO - Credit Memo- Unable to match

    Hi Gurus,
One  of our supplier issued a credit memo which relates to two POs. One is a return PO(credit note) and other a normal PO. Vendor has issued credit note with Net figure. Both POs are not related.
    Normal PO ( GR)   100
    Return PO(GR)      (-200)
    Credit note from vendor  (-100).
When we MIRO(credit memo) selecting the two POs to match against the credit note, system does not pick the normal PO and hence we are unable to match and clear.
    Kindly advise
    Umang

I face the same problem. Maybe you can use Vendor code to match the invoice and credit memo.
We use Vendor code to match items.
My problem is the invoice and credit memo is in different period.
    example:
credit memo - PO GR date  is in 2014.10.10.
invoice-PO  GR date is in 2014.11.09.
our accountants using the GR date to select the items, maybe in NOV,they set the date between NOV. 01 to 30 . The credit memo cannot be select. They insist on the period they set.
How can i select all credit memo ,and set limit to invoice?
    Regards,

  • Mod_onsint: Unable to match diagnostic port

I've completed a B2B & BPEL migration from 10.1.2.0.0 to 10.1.2.0.2 on our test server.
Everything else seems to be ok except this.
The HTTP server is bouncing about once per minute and I keep getting these same messages over and over:
[warn] mod_onsint: Unable to match diagnostic port to a port in the port list. Adding the diagnostic port as a new port to the opmn dms port list. It is host 127.0.0.1. port:7202.

[notice] FastCGI: process manager initialized (pid 7580)
    I've tried reconfiguring ports, etc...
I can't find any hits that point to these messages and am having no luck getting this to work.
    HELP??

I was finally able to get the HTTP server to quit bouncing, but the only way I could was to disable DMS altogether (commented out the include in the conf file...)
So now the question is, how should the ports in dms.conf be configured??

  • HT201269 Just updated my iPhone to latest IOS but unable to match security code entered during update.  Phone now locked.  Is there some way to recover password? Is there

Just updated my iPhone 4 to latest IOS but unable to match password security nbr. Phonoe now locked.
Is there a way to recover password?

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I have tried as you suggested, and when opening the "purchased" apps some have the icloud logo next to them, but I only have "OPEN" against "Find My iPhone". When opening it up, it goes through the same routine; needs to be updated before proceeding, and wouldn't update because I don't have IOS8.
Anything else I could try, or am I doomed!
All of your help is much appreciated, thanks

  • Controllers unable to match to a dhcp scope

2112 controller has fixed IPs for management and ap-manager interfaces.
controller is not a dhcp client, but controller syslog shows the following message about 4 times / sec :

    Any idea ?

    Rosa,
The DHCP proxy is enabled in the dynamic interfaces with the DHCP Server IP address configured?
These dynamic interfaces can reach the DHCP server ? Have some ACL that impossibilite to the dynamic interfaces to reach the DHCP Server ?
The DHCP server has the correct scope for the network address for VLANs (2,14,175,161) ?
Case the DHCP proxy is not enabled, did you verify the SVI that is the gateway of the VLAN is with ip helper address configured to the DHCP Server?
    I hope it helps.
