ITunes Match weird glitches on my iPhone 5

Hello Community.
I'm having a weird problem with iTunes Match, pmart playlists, and songs downloaded to my iPhone. I have used smart playlist on both my Mac and iPhone for as long as I can remember and havent incountered any significant issues until now.
The smart playlist in question I've named Top Rated Music.
The rules are as follows:
-Match all of the following rules:
-Rating is *****
-Genre does not contain Country
-Limit to 150 items selected by most recently added.
-Match only checked items
-Live updating
Now this works perfectly fine on my iPad, and Mac. It has always worked on my iPhone prior to iOS 7. What happenes is the playlist works for a few days then stops randomly shuffles the music in no order and not matching the Playlist on my Mac. Random songs will also not appear on the playlist. The only thing I do differently is I download all of the songs on my iPhone in that specific playlist. The reason is that Mobile providers in Canada offer nothing close to an unlimited data plan. Easy to go over if your playing music from the cloud.
Thats where I think the problem lies, the iPhone seems to glitch after a couple days when the music has downloaded. It also seems weird because you cant delete the music off the phone once its been downloaded. I've tried both through iTunes on my Mac and manualy managing music, as well as on the phone itself song by song.
Things i've tried.
-Restoring phone (Works for a couple days then glitches up again)
-Replacing phone (Same as above)
-Deleting song using iTunes (Songs wont delete just reapear)
-Deleting songs using iPhone (Songs dont apear anymore, but show up using itunes mac)
Any help would be appreciated.

Go to Settings > iTunes and App Stores and set to "use cellular data" to ON. Be aware this will use your mobile data allotment when streaming music.

It should only be bringing up Siri if you press and hold it. Do you think you might be holding it too long?

  • HT204406 iTunes match not loading on my iPhone 4

i am having a problem with the iTunes match not loading on my iPhone 4, once in iTunes it just shows the iCloud logo, and does not load all my albums/song etc.

I'm guessing you mean the iTunes store.
What specificaly happens when you try to access the store?  Any errors?
What do you mean by full factory reset?  Does that mean a restore as new?
Are you able to access the store via Wi-Fi?

  • My iTunes match not working on my iPhone.  Anyoine able to access theirs on an iPhone?

I was informed by an Apple representative that match won't yet work with ios devices becuase it is still in beta testing.  Has anyone got itunes match to work with their iphone?

On the east coast in NJ. Cannot access iTunes Match on IOS device or on Apple tv. If I am on wifi, I cannot play any music on my iphone or apple tv. Even those songs downloaded to the iphone wont play. But if I turn off the wifi, then those songs on the iphone will play. On the apple tv, no music from iTunes Match will play. Also failing on my MacBook pro. This needs to get fixed soon.

  • After upgrading to iTunes Match Genius Icon Gone on iPhone

After upgrading to iTunes Match Genius Icon Gone on iPhone
So I upgrade and uploaded/matched all my songs to iTunes Match. Everything seems to be fine, except I noticed I don't have the genius functionality on my iPhone. Basically the little atom icon is missing. Does anyone have a solution for this problem.
    Thanks
    Chike

This is what works for me.
I do this once: I keep quite a bit of music loaded on my iPhone using the normal sync process with my Mac (via USB cable) prior to turning on iTunes Match (...let's me listen to at least some music even when disconnected from the net, like when on a plane).  And then I turn iTunes Match back on (and leave it turned on) and it gives me access to the rest of my music library from iCloud when I have network access (3G or Wifi) for normal listening using my whole library over Match.
I start playing a song on my iPhone (one that doesn't have the iCloud icon)
I click the home button (physical button on iPhone that closes the Music app)
I then double click the home button (opens the task manager at the bottom)
Quit Music (press/hold on the Music icon in the tray until the little red circle with an x appears to quit the app)
Then restart Music (tap the Music icon on my iPhone home screeen)
When the Music app restarts, it opens to the last song playing.  if it was one of the songs downloded to my iPhone, it has the litlle atomic symbol again and I can create a genius playlist from it.
FYI: you can enable/disable iTunes Match on the iPhone without affecting songs loaded on your iPhone (even though it says it'll replace your iPhone library, the songs are still there if you enable/disable again).  Settings>>>Music>>>iTunes Match on/off.

  • ITunes Match - Nothing showing on my iPhone - tried all the basics

I have a fair bit of experience with iDevices and have been running Match from the day it was released so I have had a number of glitches which are usually sorted by either switching itunes match on and off, signing into iTunes numerous times, wiping your device etc....
I have recently switched iTunes Match off on my phone in order to wipe it and then back on.. Once back on no music would show. I have tried all the steps listed above, and still once the large cloud with the loading bar dissapears (after showing no loading) there is nothing in my library.
I can confirm that my iTunes is showing all my songs on multiple computers, all 17000 of them.
I am working on a 10mb/s confirmed internet connection,
    Please Help.
PS. Loving Apple's offerings, but they don't seem to be hitting the level of quality and service that one would expect when paying the premiums Apple demand.

This should probably sort out the problem for you: Re: iTunes Match - 'No Music' on iPhone 4

  • Itunes match erased playlists on my iphone

    Hi,
After turning on itunes match on Windows 7 and then on my iphone 4 and ipad 2, everything worked well for a while. After 2 days all of my playlists disappeared from the iphone and I can't find a way to bring them back. I tried resetting the phone, turning itunes match off and on, but neither helped.
Is there anything I can do here?
    Thanks,
    Guy

First, relax. It's just a server glitch.
To trouble shoot this turn off iTunes Match on the iOS device. Then open the Music app and give it time to clear out the cloud content. Then go to Settings > General > Usage and tap Music (you may have to scroll down in the list). Swipe across "all music" and tap DELETE.
Now, do a hard reset on the device by holding the Home+Power buttons until you see the Apple logo. Re-enable the iTM service.

  • Itunes/Match downconverting purchases on my Iphone

I am getting incredibly ****** off and at my wits end....First off, I do NOT have the "downconvert" option selected in itunes when my iphone is clicked.
In the last month i have downloaded ~100 songs via itunes, i purchase then on a computer and then on my iphone go to the itunes:download purchases option. I noticed yesterday after plugging my iphone into itunes, going to iphone selection, and then "on this iphone", that every single one of these files are 128kbps!!!! Yet they are 256kbps in my itunes laptop library. I talked to an applecare lady who didnt know anything about anything and tried to tell me that 128kbps is standard for purchases. Really apple, this is how you train your employees? OK, i will stop ranting.
When i try to delete a song on my iphone and redownload it via match cloud, it works but itunes still tells me it is a 128 kbps file on my phone. And it isnt consistent. For instance, i downloaded coldplay Parachutes today. Itunes is telling me that the first song is 256 kbps while the rest are 128, while they are all 256 in my itunes library. I am praying that this is just a typo bug where i really have the 256kbps songs. Has anyone come across this? Is there an easy way for me to replace these files with the higher quality ones in my library without screwing up all my other songs? Some old albums were upconverted which i dont want to undo.. I am pulling my hair out after just forking over $25 to apple and $150 over the last month.

  • HT204406 how do I get the playlists in Itunes match to show on my Iphone

I've been reading through all the articles and trying as many solutions as people have offered with no results. Itunes Playlists are showing on my macbook and my Imac, but I cannot edit which playlists are showing on my Iphone 4S, I connected it by USB to see if I could edit the playlists selected there but there was no way to do that as it says Itunes Match is on, and it's only placing copies of purchased/recently added playlists onto my phone.
People had mentioned in earlier posts, adding and removing computers, authorizing and deauthorizing, editing the playlists titles, deleting songs from playlists, turning phone on and off, toggling on and off on Itunes Match, NOTHING IS WORKING! I'm a dance teacher and I need my playlists, this is making my life very very difficult and I'm incredibly frusterated that instead of Paying for a service that was supposed to help my music problems I have paid for a service that has simply created a brand new one. I even paid for an extra 10 GB of Icloud space to see if that changed anything and it didn't so now I'm up to 40$ in annual charges all for something that is so far absolutely useless to me. PLEASE HELP! There's not even a helpline on apple phone support for itunes, or itunes match it simply redirects me to the online forums. I"M DESPERATE for your help!!

I did see this yes, I also spent about 20 minutes on the phone finally with a technical support person at Apple who told me to restart and reset my phone which got rid of the few playlists I'd somehow managed to keep on my phone, and also got me off his back because I had to hang up with him to do so....useless.

  • ITunes Match music not updating on iPhone 4 - all settings "correct", but all playlists and many songs, artists, albums, artwork missing

I'm having a maddening problem with iTunes Match on my iPhone 4. I have the following settings established on the phone:
Settings > iCloud > Account: properly logged in to the correct, main account
Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup: On
Settings > Music > iTunes Match: On
Settings > Music > Show All Music: On
Settings > Store: Logged into the same correct, main account as above
Settings > Store > Automatic Downloads > Music: On
On my laptop - the computer I use to primarily manage my iTunes music collection - when I "Update iTunes Match", all but three songs are listed as "Matched", "Uploaded". or "Purchased", and I'm correctly told that "12,277 songs are now available in iCloud".
But over the past week or so, music has been disappearing from my iPhone 4. When I go under Music > Playlists, none of my Playlists are showing. When I go under Music > Songs, it only lists 240 of the 12,277 tracks that are supposedly available in iCloud. Only 126 of around 1300 artists are listed. I have meticulously collected/scanned album artwork for literally every song in my collection, but a ton of it is missing on even the few tracks that do show up on my iPhone, and on and on and on.
I've been trying switching settings on and off, logging out and back in, waiting minutes, hours, or even days between attempts, running a restore to previous backup for the whole phone, etc. But after days of frustration and time wasted - nothing. And the real kicker is that the whole music collection IS showing up just fine on my wife's iPhone 4 - it just won't work on mine, and it's mostly my music to begin with!
So why won't my music collection show up on my iPhone 4? What do I do to fix this? How is this worth the money I paid for the Match service?

Thanks to kirbyfromtrenton, I have tracked down at least a partial fix for this problem:
1 - Turn off iTunes match in iTunes.
2 - Turn off iTunes match on the iPhone.
3 - Close iTunes and reopen.
    4 - Connect your iPhone.
5 - Go into your music folder for the iPhone and delete all the songs.
6 - Turn back on iTunes match in iTunes
7 - Turn back on iTunes match on the iPhone
All of my music is available once again, although I'm still not seeing my playlists or artwork. That could be because I'm overseas right now with a slow wi-fi connection though.

  • Songs in itunes match are not on my iphone

I have recently started to trial iTunes Match and with 20k+ carefully managed songs with all artwork intact, I am confused and perplexed on why some songs are not uploaded to the Cloud; why some artwork is then missing in Match; and why songs showing in Match are not transferred correctly on my iPhone nor iPad (they are listed, but light grey and not playable). Any suggestions on what I need to do or is this an Apple issue?

First, you need to let the inital scan, match and upload process in iTunes complete before you enable the service on your iOS devices. This is the best practice. Once the initial scan is complete then all the music will be availabe on the iOS devices.
Second, in Song view in iTunes enable the iCloud Status column so you can see how the service has classified all the music in your library. If successfully processed all the tracks shoud be either "purchased," "matched," or "uploaded." Any other status indicates a problem with that track that will need to be sorted out, and it won't be availble on the iOS devices.
Third, be patient with the artwork. It can take some time for all the artwork to download to the iOS devices. It isn't instant. But eventually all the artwork will show up.
