ITunes message of doom! Help!

I'm really at the end of my temper with iTunes now.
Updated from 4.9 to 5.0 a few weeks ago. Clicked the icon after the installation and the old "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close" message of doom pops up (image at http://www.laduk.co.uk/message.JPG ).
I uninstalled and upgraded to 5.1 yesterday, only to be greeted by exactly the same message!
I've tried restarting (6 times so far), uninstalling and reinstalling, terminating other iTunes-related processes like iTunesHelper.exe and iPodService.exe.
I tried running it on another account on this PC and it worked funny enough for a split second - I blinked and that message sprung up again!
Help me please! I've tried countless other forums - I need my music back!
Help would be GREATLY appreciated!

If you are unable to uninstall Quicktime from within add remove programs, and receive an error that state something to the effect...
Quicktime cannot be uninstalled because C:\<some directory path>\uninstall.log cannot be found
Just download and install the StandAlone Installer or locate the C:\Windows\system32\quicktime folder and delete it....only do this as a very last resort, but after a reboot, you should be able to use add remove programs

iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 5). I have uninstalled in correct order and reinstalled but still getting same error message. Any help??
Take a look at iTunes for Windows: "Error 7" message when opening iTunes. Perhaps your .NET Framework needs a repair.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Whenever I open itunes in my ipad a message comes "cannot connect to iTunes Store"...help to get it right please, I have the new I pad and I was able to connect to iTunes before,and I use 3 g network..there is no network problem for sure because I could use safari and App Store perfectly...
Make sure cellular data is turned on..I checked and it was on
Tap Settings > General > Cellular
Switch Enable 3G to off then back on.
Same for Wi Fi. Tap Settings > Wi-Fi. Switch off then back on.'
Then restart the device.

My phone has been set up previously for itunes on my lap top but my phone now shows the connect to itunes message even though the phone is connected....Ive tried every thing I can think of ...now I cant use my phone ..please help ?
Turn your phone off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your phone and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a phone in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.
Unfortunately, the data on your phone is already gone if you're seeing the connect to iTunes logo. -

I got that message sometimes as well. The next time it happens you should also get the message in iTunes. If you look closely at the iTunes message box, there is a "+" box, that will open up a list of the items that were not synced. For me, it was some podcasts that I have set to auto delete. Rarely it was an app, but the app would sync correctly the next time. You will have to open up the list to see what's not syncing for you.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.

Cannot connect to App Store nor to iTunes (support did not help)

Have never been able to connect to the App store, nor to itunes (support not able to help).
New MBPro last August, running OS 10.7.5, have a code for Mt Lion which I have been trying to download ever since. (Am confined to bed a lot so cannot just run down to Apple store.) Have never been able to connect to the app store or to iTunes (support could not help me: They simply documented the basic instructions, which has never once worked.) On and off over the months of trying both, I have had to make 4 different Apple Id's, each of which eventually stop working.
Have tried a dozen things from apple support forums. None worked. Have no firewall or antivirus software. This is what messages I get.
“Error -1202 and "Unable to connect to the App Store", etc. “ iTunes can’t verify the identity of the server “s.mzstatic.com.”.

Have tried changing date/time,(it's correct), making all blue security certificates " always trust" in Keychain and adding this (208.67.222.222) to network address under DNS, and fixed permissions literally 6 times in a row. Also, just added instructions to terminal all per online support.
If I didn't love my Mac I would sell it after all this frustration. Cannot begin to estimate the hours, days I've spent on this.

1. Itunes not working, get "missing file, reinstall itunes", message.
2. When try to reinstall itunes, gets as far as "starting services", then stops with message, "Apple mobile device failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
I am logged in to my laptop as Administrator.
3. After selecting "retry" and "ignore" a few times, install went ahead and got "Congrats, you have successfully installed itunes"
When I went to itunes I got, " Itunes not installed correctly, please reinstall. Error7 (Windows error 126)".
4. On reinstalling itunes yet again, got, "Programme cannot start because MSVCR80.dll is missing. Try to reinstall programme"
