Itunes messing up the order of my music

Basically most of my songs and album titles are fine but they are just scattered about the whole place and it is driving me mad.
Can anyone help

iTunes does have a method for Artist sorting if the Sort fields are empty (as most of mine are), but offhand, I don't know much about it to be honest. The glaring issue in the your screenshot is Ministry Of Sound.
If any of the other experienced contributors add to this thread (note the number of points they have) with better advice than I can offer, take it.
In the meantime, start with the Ministry Of Sound and check the Sort Artist field. If you highlight everything by an artist, or a complete album, and select Get Info/Sorting, you see this view:
and if you select just a single song, it's this view:
I assume, unless you tell me otherwise, that the Ministry Of Sound entries will show something in there which is causing iTunes to put them in with the entries for A. Replace it with Ministry Of Sound. If the field is blank (which it will be if there are two different entries in your selection) simply type in Ministry Of Sound. Does that make any difference?
If it does, then check your other entries to see what is causing the issue with them.
You may find the the artist "Joey Bada$$" has been set to sort by Bada$$, Joey.

I have different songs that I would like to upload onto the phone iOS 6.1.3
So I copy the songe into a playlist in iTunes.
Song names are

whatever_xx-002

what does iTunes? It just changes the song names and make a complete mess with the order of the songs:
whatever xx 1
whatever xx 20
whatever xx 2
My question is, if iTunes is not usable for copying numbered songs? I cannot imagine that this tool is so stupid? Or am I doing something wrong?

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

The order of my music on my iPhone changed since update.

Since the iOS5 update, I have had my music on my phone to the newest additions to be at the top of my list but now all my songs are backwards and my older songs are on top. So now if I want to listen to my recently added songs, I have to go all the way to the bottom of my playlist to listen. I have it arranged on my iTunes to have the newest additon songs on top using the Date Added option but it's not transferring that way onto my iPhone. Does anyone understand what I am talking about or know how to fix it?

I make use of different methods of sorting playlists in iTunes (e.g. by rating, by date added, etc).
After upgrading to iOS 5 on an iPhone 4, and on my new iPhone 4S, the order of tracks is not preserved in the Music app.
Two examples:
1. A playlist of podcasts that should be sorted by rating descending, on the iPhone they are sorted by rating ascending.
2. A playlist of music that should be sorted by Album by Artist/Year they are sorted by Date Added.
Operating system: Mac OS 10.7.2"

ITune 7 -- rearranging the order of playlist songs

I used to be able to change the order of songs in a playlist by dragging them around. I just tried that in iTunes 7 and it not longer seems to work.
Can someone tell me how to do this very simple (used to be intuitive) task?

It works fine.
Select the playlist you want.
At the top roghton iTunes, click on the first box above View. This is Lsist view.
Then click on the first column header, above the numbers.
Then drag the songs in the order you want.

Photoshop cs5 messes up the order of frames in a gif after importing video frames?

after recording a video with vlc media player, i save as mp4, then open it in photoshop cs5 with Import>Video Frames to Layers...
The order of the frames are messed up so when played it looks jerky. I played the mp4 file and it's fine. Here is an example in gif form:

I Think the problem is the you dropped too many frame out and the frame you kept are being played to quickly. Animated GIF file sizes are huge compared to video file formats and the color is much poorer then video. However Browsers animate them automatically and the can be used in links href.
I downloaded your gif and it looked like you started with a 1080p video. You re-size it from 1920 wide to 400 pixels wide and to make a small animated gif file size you dropped out too many frames. You file is still 2.3MB. I wanted to get some idea of what could be done. How much 1080p mp4 re-sized to 400px wide would fit into a 2.3MB mp4 file and if saved as an animated gif how big would it be and what would the quality be. Seems like only 5 seconds fits . Here is what I saw.

How can I change some chapters of my podcast without messing up the order listing the podcasts?

This is a class curriculum that I would like to keep in order for the students to just go down the list when listening to the info.
Problem is, every year we need to make updates given new info and statistics. This year I will need to replace 5 chapters.
I am storing the media at Vazaar and I have replaced the actual .mp4 files with the new content there. I have remade the podcast.xml and uploaded to our server.
When I tried to submit to iTunes I got a "...it seems the feed has already been submitted" which I somewhat understand.
So now do I have wait for some kind of refresh before the iTunes chapters link to the right media?
Sorry.. I am not a podcast maker... really. Just a driving instructor.

Why is the order of my music in my playlists in the opposite order?

I've ordered music in my playlists on iTunes to the date added, so that my newest music is at the top of the playlist. However, theyre ordered in the exact opposite order when I've synced these playlists onto my iPhone. It's really annoying to have to scroll right down to the bottom to find my latest music :/ I've also found that the music in my smart playlists and playlists which have been ordered with no preference i.e. the first column (#1,2,3,4,5) are in the right order, however. Really strange!

The name of the diirectory inside /Users cannot be changed by any reasonable method. But you can create a new directory in /Users, spelled to your liking, and move your files to it.
After copying your files to the new directory, you can either
a) create a new User Account, or
b) you can change your user account to point to the newly-created location. [This is how one moves Accounts to a different drive, so it is a well travelled road.]

ITunes: where is the option to sync music without iCloud ????

I have 3000+ songs in my iTunes account on my mac Mini
I upgraded to iO6 and now, the only option I have to sync my music that I see is with iCloud. I no longer have an option to sync the music on my computer directly to my iPhone.
iClould doesn't work at 41,000' with no wi-fi and no cell service, or when I am camping in remote areas.
Where is the option in iTunes to sync music from a computer to a iPhone or other device?

I have iTunes 10.7 (21)
I don't have Mountain Lion, and there is no option to "Sync Music" when I plug my iPhone in. I have had a Powerbook G4 since 2005, and have being using iTunes since 2005 with multiple iPods, iPhones.
There simply isn't an option to sync my music with my iPhone 4S.
I do see the ability to sync contacts, photos, but when I click on the music tab under iTunes, I see this image:
I have never seen this option before and would love to see the option to "Sync All Music", "Syn All Playlist" and "Sync Selected Playlists" or whateve the old screen options where.
Do you really think this is a iOS 10.7.5 issue vs 10.8 (Mountain Lion)?

I bough t 3 weeks ago in argentina a new 4G, Ituenes told me there is a new IOS 4.2 upgrade I didnt read it well but it was around 600 mb download. so Itunes downloeded it and started to upgrade the phone but suddenley my phone is stuck in restore mode and I get this error: the Iphone "iphone"could not be restored. An unknown error occured [1013]
what to do? any ideas? I wanted to open a case in the support but they ask for the searial number and I cant get it since the phone is in restore mode !! now I am in lima peru, can I go to a shope here to replace the phone although I know it a software problem ?? I cant belive I bought a new phone which cost a lot of $$$$$$ and it not working !!

and yes, I did a restart to my pc and tried to restore again.

Windows
1. Go to Start > Programs > Accessories
2. Run Notepad. Note: on Windows 7, right click on Notepad icon and select “Run As Administrator”
3. Click File > Open
4. Go to Windows/System32/drivers/etc
5. In “files of type:” select all documents
6. Open “hosts”
7. Delete any entry with “gs.apple.com”
8. Click Save
9. Restore your iPhone

Right-click the track in the library, and choose Show in Windows Explorer.
If you were hoping to get the file path displayed in a column, as is possible in Windows Media Player, note that iTunes does not have that ability.

ITunes 7 is the bane of my music video existence

I started this as part of someone else's thread and decided to be "courteous" and start my own. I'm not an Apple fan & I don't own an iPod - I have the 30GB Creative Zen M:Vision mp3 player. I bought iTunes so I could purchase and watch videos, which aren't transferrable to anything but an iPod...my mistake. I recently upgraded my computer from a Dell Dimension 8200 series to an XPS 410. Since I got my new computer, iTunes has not worked. I try to open it and I get the infamous "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close" message, which is extremely infuriating. I have installed it, uninstalled it & reinstalled it more times than I care to remember. b noir asked if I installed a K-Lite Codec Pack & I hace the Basic 2.76 Pack on my machine. It doesn't seem to make an ounce of difference. Please help me!

I sympathize and I just started my travail with iTunes. I think the worst part is that these messages just circulate in the ether with absolutely no one from Apple even making an attempt to help out. This is a very Kafka-easque situation. Sorry I can't be of more help than to sympathize.

Doesn't iTunes India have the options to buy music and movies. I just get the apps, podcasts and iTunes U as the options. what am I missing???

How do I re-install iTunes so that when I delete a song from iTunes I have the option to remove it from my computer as well?

I created multiple libraries and multiple locations for music of different genres; however, in the end I decided that I wanted to keep all of my music in one location and to have just one iTunes library. The problem is that when I go to delete a song from my iTunes library, I no longer have the option to remove the file from my computer as well. This is because the my iTunes library and the location of my music files were not in my iTunes music folder (http://forums.ilounge.com/itunes-mac-pc/119629-delete-songs-itunes-library-compu ter-together.html). I tried changing the iTunes Media Folder location (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1364), but that didn't solve. Then I tried reinstalling iTunes: I figured that starting fresh would put my iTunes library in the right location so that I would have this option again, but it didn't work. (When reinstalling, I got an error message that 6D5Dubs, the name of my last iTunes library, couldn't be found. I clicked 'OK' and was asked to 'Choose was asked to 'Choose library...' or 'Create Library'. I created a library since I had deleted the other ones in my attempt to start fresh) Any suggestions? Note: I find the CTRL+R solution tedious for my purposes.

How to get 'linenum' from the order form matrix

I'v been trying to get this to work for the past 4 hours now and I can't find a solution.
I have a button on the sales order form, when the user clicks on this button a second screen will appear with more information (stored in a usertable).
However to be able to get this information from my usertable I need to have the linenum of the selected line (in the matrix).
I know I can get the 'row' property but this doesn't give me the linenum (wich is the unique key in the RDR1 table).
Also the 'visorder' column doesn't work since I have textlines in the order that can be placed anywhere and can be more than 1.
Consider the following scenario:
Order with the following lines:
Textline
article line (actual orderline) (linenum = 1 / visorder = 0 / row = 2)
article line (actual orderline) (linenum = 2 / visorder = 1 / row = 3)
article line (actual orderline) (linenum = 3 / visorder = 2 / row = 4)
textline
article line (actual orderline) (linenum = 4 / visorder = 3 / row = 6)---- (this line has been deleted)
article line (actual orderline) (linenum = 5 / visorder = 3 / row = 6)
So in total 6 lines.
How do I get the 'linenum' from the last line (note that linenum 4 has disappeared because of the deleted row)?
I looked into using the dbdatasource but with this I gets the entire RDR1 table (for that order) and can't get the linenum (correct one) out off it since the textlines mess up the order.
Anyone know how to do this?

Basically you have a counter that you increment if the matrix line is not a text or subtotal line. This will match the VisOrder value in the RDR1 table which you can use to get the LineNum value.
