ITunes movie cannot download

I am attempting to download a movie on my iPhone 4S with iTunes. It persists in notifying me that "(movie name) cannot be downloaded at the time." I have paid for the movie. I also updated my phone, checked to see of the wifi functions, and restarted my phone many times. The movie still cannot download. Please help!!!

I have 3G too even though 3G cannot download a movie, because it is too much data. Just throwing it out there.

    Hi, Kenny.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
There are a couple things that I would recommend trying.  Try closing all open applications and power cycle the device.  Next, go through the section labeled Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in the second article below.  If the issue persists, try completely signing out of the iTunes Store on the iOS device and sign back in.  Be sure to test downloading an application after each step.

  • ITunes movie purchase downloading twice

    Hello all;
I just purchased a movie on iTunes. The first time I clicked BUY, the system told me that it could not read my Apple account and to try a few minutes later. So I tried a little later but I clicked the BUY button again!
Is this why the movie is downloading twice? One HD version and one standard version?
Does this mean I will be charged twice? If so, will I get a refund?
Thanks for any help or advice you can offer.

I do not believe that Real Player Plus can burn any videos purchased from the iTunes Store to video DVD. RP Plus can burn non-protected videos from iTunes, but not the copy-protected files from the iTunes Store. If you have yourself successfully burned videos from the iTunes Store to a vide DVD (one that plays in a standard DVD player) with Real Player Plus, I'm sure many of us would be interested in such confirmation, as it would indicate that Real has hacked Apple's DRM in some way.

  • Itunes store - cannot download movies over 4gb ,firewall problem

    Here's something odd
Once I purchased dumb and dumber from itunes I immediately begun the download but something strange
happened,it only downloaded to 375mb then the download restarted then when it reached 375mb
it tells me that the download was interrupted and I look in my downloads to see that it
has stopped along with a 9006 error
I've been trying to download the movie repeatedly with no success
and I tried other movies that are over 4gb and have met with the same result
then I ran a network diagnosis and it said that everything is fine except that
the firewall was not enabled for itunes(even though it is) but when I download something from my purchases
and do the network diagnoses it says that the secure link to the itunes store has failed
I'm able to download everything else just fine despite this
    any solutions?

I'm having the same exact problem. Bought Nightmare Before Christmas yesterday, tried to install it last night. Same error message, billed for it (said it was downloaded). Tried to report problem, re-directed to itunes store help page. EVERY SINGLE TIME! I've never had a problem purchasing movies from the itunes store.
Does ANYONE know how to fix this?!?

  • After Updating to iTunes 7, cannot download from Music Store

Since updating to iTunes 7 I have had trouble downloading from the iTunes Store. At first all was well, I went into the store, bought some tracks, started downloading them and then my router died, cut my connection and halted my download. After sorting out the router and re-connecting to the internet iTunes has started reporting that the network has timed out and cannot connect to the music store.
I can still browse the music store but if I try to log in or download anything I get the error that the network timed out. I have tried multiple things to resolve this including restarting the laptop and router, uninstalling iTunes altogether and reinstalling it, running the Diagnostics in iTunes but to no avail.
In the diagnostics window the first two tests pass ok but the third test seems to fail when a secure connection needs to be made, which would explain why I can browse the store but not download anything or log in because this would require secure connections.

    Ok all is now well.
Basically I checked with BT and there were no problems on the network, the problem had to be somewhere between my router and iTunes. Next I checked if I could download anything from another computer using my internet connection and the same thing happened so that isolated the problem to router. I then checked the firmware on the router and this was up to date so I then wondered if there might be some dodgy registers within the router that maybe corrupted so I performed a factory reset of my BT Home Hub, but alas that didnt fix anything (unless your connection is running <200Kb/s then it fixes everything, but thats another story, if in doubt reset it!) Anyway, I was putting all my settings back in and realised the Home Hubs Firewall had been activated and as soon as this was disabled, hey presto! iTunes magic returns!
I have since realised that the reason the router may have randomly cut out in the first place was to upgrade the firmware of the Home Hub, hence the sudden blockage of iTunes by the reactivated firewall.
Since correcting this I have had no trouble using iTunes 7, no issues with music or connecting my 4Gb iPod Nano. To all those who are struggling with this I suggest you update your iPods firmware to the latest version to ensure it is compatible with iTunes 7.
Respond here if anyone else needs help.

  • Itunes movie hire download stuck processing

I have downloaded a rented movie from iTunes on my iPad2 and it now seems stuck 'processing' - any ideas other than wait?

    Hi RichardM58!
As a basic troubleshooting step, try simply closing the Video app on your iPad then reopening it, as shown in the following article:

  • ITunes Movie re-download

I want to redownload a movie on my home computer that I already dowloaded on my laptop.  Can I download it from the cloud?  Or if I try and re purchase it will it purchase or just re download?

So I took a chance and tried to buy a movie I just purchased on my iPad, on my iPod.  on my iPod it appeared as if I had never bought the movie so I went through the steps to buy once again hoping it would say it was previously purchased and ask if I want to download again.  That did not happen.  After clicking buy it will ask for a password then it will say you have previously purchased this movie and asks if you want to PURCHASE it again. Boo!
On a side note you can now re-download music and tv shows via the purchase history in the itunes app but movies is not yet an option unfortunately.
For the time being it seems we'll have to continue syncing through our computers until Apple gets the liscensing or servers to handle this (I blame the studios), as iCloud sync won't sync vids either.

  • I appear to have lost all my audiobooks from itunes and cannot download a new purchase to my ipod.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes but this has not helped - I am desperate as I depend on my ipod for listening to books

My ipod touch has lost touch with my itunes account.  I appear to have lost all my audiobooks from itunes and a nook I downloaded from audible.com last week is on my itunes but I cannot syn it to my ipod.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes but this did not work and I now have a different screen with itunes which I am not familiar with.  I need my ipod for audiobooks and podcasts because I have a visual impairment.

iTunes 11 does some thinks differently. See:

  • ITunes 12 - cannot download previous purchases

    HI everybody
I the new iTunes 12, I cannot seem to download my previous purchases through "manage previous purchases".  When I click on "manage previous purchases, the process seems to start up, but then freezes, and I get an error message saying "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close". There is then no option but to click "close program" and, surprise surprise, the program closes. I have tried re-installing and de-activating and re-activating, and nothing seems to work.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks!

Now I'm 99% sure that error message had some words to it... mind sharing what those were?

  • Where is my pearl jam twenty movie? only itunes movies extras downloaded

I tried restarting the computer and it's like it never existed even though I saw it download!
    Help!

Films can currently only be re-downloaded by US iTunes accounts (and not all films as not all film studios have so far agreed to it) - if you are not in the US then you won't get films under Purchased. If you want it on you iPhone you will have to copy it from the iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases and then sync it to the phone.

  • ITunes U cannot download HTTPS feed

    Hello,
iTunes U will no longer update valid feeds from our LMS. Our LMS is entirely SSL/TLS and recently had its certificate updated. The DigiCert certificate and feed are working at https://lms.brocku.ca/podcasts/site/BuildaPodcast . However iTunes U complains and will not update the feed (picture of the error message: http://ctlet.brocku.ca/screencasts/2010-02-01_1622.png )
Is there a chance that the iTunes U fetching software needs its root certificates updated?
    Here's our cert information: http://ctlet.brocku.ca/screencasts/lms.brocku.ca-digicert.png
    Thanks,
    .\.\att

I ran your feed against the W3C feed validator and it complained that 10 of its embedded enclosures contained malformed URLs. It may be that readers like Safari and Firefox are more forgiving. I'd have to check (just for chuckles) the feed itself and pull it apart to see what is whacked about the URLs.
    Thanks for your diligence,
I ran the feed against the same validator tonight and a few weeks ago when this started. It complains about that it has to use the full URL, which is listed there in the error message as https://lms.... I assumed it was spurious. Unless I'm interpreting it wrong (and I paste it here's for other's review), the message is:
line 16, column 6: url must be a full URL: https://lms.brocku.ca/access/content/group/BuildaPodcast/Podcasts/Isaak%20-%20Forums.mov (10 occurrences)
Line 16 of the feed is:
    <enclosure url="https://lms.brocku.ca/access/content/group/BuildaPodcast/Podcasts/Isaak%20-%20Forums.mov" length="78041442" type="video/quicktime" />
There's also a few of the itunes custom tags that are missing - but they've always been missing. Also, the feed is usable to so many other applications.
If the warning is valid, please let me know what you think should be done to the feed, I'll hand edit it, see if it works, then go from there.
    Thanks,
    .\.\att
