ITunes movie playback volume problem on iPad 2?

I have an iPad 2 and have the same problem I had with my original iPad....movies rented or bought in iTunes play back at such a low volume I need to hold iPad up to my ear to hear dialog. Otherwise I've had no problems with sound on either iPad. Can someone help?

In Switzerland there is the same problem.
As for me :
1. I reset my ipad -> no effect
2. I restored -> no effect
3. I installed the newest version of Itunes on the computer and sync -> no effect...
4. It is impossible to use the I tunes U on the ipad, while Itunes U on the computer is working...
5. I dit hat M41B said, get back on itunes U located on the iPad and ... ouwwwww.... still blinking ! It is impossible to download using iPad. What I get as "solution" is to open the computer, then download the course, then sync ... Well not very easy !
Thus, I consider not serious for such a machine sold at this outrageous price in Switzerland !
Try to contact "express lane" for support and ... yep ! you have to use your pocket full of money again !
"Itunes U" in the Ipad is still blinking 10 oct6ober 2011 - impossible to download anything !
Guess someone "up there" think is not so interesting to allow the use of the iPad for students ...

ITunes movie playback, audio and video not in sync after upgrade to Mountain Lion

After upgrading to Mountain Lion I have problems with iTunes movie playback, and the audio/video at times stalls/delays, or skips a few seconds, or even gets out of sync. I get a message that this video is not compatible with this version of iTunes. I have to open the video in Quicktime to watch it.

Rented iTunes movies low volume?

Rented my first movie for my ipad2 for my daughter to watch on a flight we just took. I downloaded it to my Mac via iTunes and then sync'd the tow devices. The volume on the iPad thru the speakers or the headphones is too low and not listenable on an airplane with all the ambient noise. My speakers once landed at our destination, we're tested via wifi with YouTube, pandora and tunein radio....no volume issues, yet the movie still too low even with a quiet room.
One other video..ripped from an owned DVD had the same problem, yet other ripped DVDs that I own are loud and clear.
Please help.

I followed your procedure and did some testing. By setting the volume slider to +100%, the movie was louder on my Mac.
I then transferred the movie to my iPad and took my equipment to the facility where I play movies. I didn't have a pristine rental copy to test against, so I used my own DVD copy of the movie. This is what I found:
A) The best and strongest sound was when the the T40 speakers were directly connected to the DVD player's RCA sound jacks and the video was coming thru the hdmi to the projector.
B) The worst (quietest) sound was when the speakers took their input from the mini-stereo jack of the projector, with the video and sound coming from the dvd player thru hdmi.
C) I compared this with the +100% sound-increased movie rental running on my iPad, with hdmi connection to the projector and sound coming from the mini-stereo jack of the projector to the T40 speakers. This was definitely much louder than "B" above. So I can safely say that the sound boost performed on the rental movie on my Mac did copy over to the iPad.
D) Unfortunately, even "C" above is not loud enough for this room. But if I added the FiiO amp to "C", then there was plenty of sound - though not as pleasant (or simple) as "A" above.
I wonder if there is some way to get more than the +100% sound boost in iTunes?
I think it is unfortunate that renting a digital movie is fraught with such difficulty. It should be possible to adjust the sound as needed - and preferably on the iPad! Otherwise, we are just going to keep renting DVDs.

How can I move an itunes movie to my wife's ipad?

I bought some videos from the iTunes store. Now I want to put them on my wife's ipad so we can watch them while traveling.
If I try to simply plug the ipad into my mbp the sync wants to erase her entire itunes content so it doesn't look like a direct transfer is possible.
What is the procedure for getting itunes movies from my MBP to my wife's iPad?
I thought I was able to use iTunes content on up to 5 devices.
Have I misunderstood how this works?

Ipad will sync to one computer at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content.
Copy the movie to your wifes computer.

Cannot install "iTunes Movie Trailers App" on new iPad

Hello all,
I just got the new iPad (3rd Gen.).
I am trying to install the iTunes Movie Trailer App (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/itunes-movie-trailers/id471966214?mt=8)
For some reason, after clicking the install icon, I get an error Pop-up screen that says "Action could not be completed".
I have installed plenty of other Apps with no issues at all.
Is this App only for U.S. users (I am from Canada)?
I suspect it is something like this because my son also cannot install this App on his iPod touch.
Any ideas?

I am actually seing it in Canada.
Nevertheless, it should be able to say "Not available in your region" before I even get the possibility to download.
Like for example, if I go on the MTV website, I cannot view their videos, they give a proper message.
For sure they would be able to do the same in a more user-friendly message.

iTunes movie rental keeps freezing at same point in rental is there anything I can do?

I have the same problem. At first I got this message:
This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection).
I have a brand new macbook pro 15" with a 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 and 8GB of ram. I have purchased numerous TV episodes in both HD & SD and have no issues. i rented this movie yesterday and could only play it via my Apple TV. I haven't installed the latest OS update but my itunes is up to date and like I mentioned I can play everything else.
I just tried again after changing the setting to switch displays to save power. Now every time I try to play the movie it asks me to authorize my computer, then tells me its already authozied, then gives me a black screen in play mode with no movement on the play indicator.

Playback volume problems on burned CDs

When I burn CD's from playlists on my iBook and play them on a home CD player (not iPod), the song playback volumes vary greatly from song to song. Some are very loud and some very soft. Is there any way to control this problem so all songs are about the same volume? The sound check option and going to "file/get info/changing volumes" on individual songs does not help.

The Sound Check option (Playback) and changing the volumes in 'Get info' does not adjust the volume when burning.
Ticking the checkbox 'Use Sound Check' in 'Preferences>Advanced>Burning' (for Audio CD only) might do the trick, but I don't find it satisfactory for me.
You can adjust the volume (gain) for each individual track by using the 'Normalize' function in various audio editors (Audacity, Sound Studio etc.).
This is a lengthy procedure, but it can be a solution when only a few tracks need adjusting. The tracks are permanently altered, unless you save it as a copy.
Maybe there are similar programs, but what really does a good job for me, is 'Jam' (roxio.com). You can select all or selected tracks to 'normalize' them.
Adjusting gain for each track individually is also possible, if some songs need to be louder or softer.
The adjustments will not alter the tracks, but are saved in a separate file.

Problems with Itunes movie playback on x100e - very jerky CPU @ 100%

Does anyone else have this problem? I have power mgmt @ high performance, notebook is plugged in. Drivers updated and still jerky. Is there a way to back down resolution without making the screen size smaller?
Any other way to get movies to play nice? I have a lenovo s10 that plays the same movies beautifully.
I have 3GB mem and 7200rpm HD.
I just got this thing and so far all I can say is it sucks. I wish I could return.

Mine doesn't arrive for another week, so we'll see how that goes. Are you using the dual core model? Even if not, the ATI Mobility 3200 in there should handle most video just fine, unless QuickTime is just being ridiculous.. which is entirely possible, especially if ATI's drivers are blowing hard. I know that Adobe recommends making sure that you have the latest drivers from ATI themselves before grabbing the hardware accelerated Flash release, so it's possible that ATI is still correcting acceleration issues. ITunes Movie won't Play on iPad

I have the iPad Wi-Fi + 3G 64GB
When Star Trek came out on DVD, I bought the Blu-ray 3-Disc copy that had a free Digital Copy download from iTunes.
This copy would play on my Apple TV, but not my iPhone... Now I have loaded it to my new iPad, and it won't play on it. It tells me it can't be played on this device.
Can anyone help me out here?

That's correct for me - It syncs just fine. I can even open the main movie menu on the ipad, see all the movie info, chapters, and everything. Just when I go to play it I get the error "This movie could not be played". I had a similar problem with Wall-E (bought directly from itunes store - not blu ray digital copy). But for whatever reason, that issue resolved itself. Princess and the Frog is locked down, though. I've tried resyncing, syncing manually versus automatically, etc. No Luck. This movie plays fine though itunes on my TV.
Any thoughts?

How to transfer iTunes Movie rental? - PC to iPad

My boss's wife rented a movie from iTunes and dropped it onto her PC (her first mistake, lol!) and now she can't figure out how to transfer it from the PC onto her iPad 1. She says she knows how to sync her iPad but that she can't get the movie to transfer. She said something about a screen popping up and asking her to agree to "Terms & Conditions" but says that when she clicks on that, she's taken to a 'legalese' page with terms and conditions for every different country - not sure what all this is about, do you know what's happening?
She has not opened the movie so it should still be able to be transferred to her iPad.
Are there any simple instructions I can point her to? Are there any pitfalls, or tricks, she needs to look out for?
Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated!

The iTunes Store may be asking for her to accept new terms for use of the Store, which get published from time to time. She should just accept the terms as presented.

ITunes movie playback pixelated

I started to replace some of my DVD collection by purchasing the movies from iTunes, i'm kind of wishing I never bothered.
All the movies I have downloaded so far have either failed at download (hanging in processing) or have sections of the movie that block out and pixelate really badly.
I am running the latest version of Lion on a mini mac server (quad core) and the latest version of iTunes.
Anuone had the same issue and know any fixes ??

How do I recover iTunes movie purchases deleted from my iPad 2?

My co-worker needed my iPad 2 for a road show ... he deleted iTunes purchased video (Disney Enchanted, and the CARS Bundle) ... I just purchased them 3 weeks ago ... I have HOME SHARING enabled, and can see the icons for these video files on my iTunes software on my desktop, but then iTunes says it "cannot find the files".
I thought it would be as easy as going to iTunes and just downloading the files again... iTunes warns me "you've already bought these -- do you want to buy it again?", and of course the answer is "NO, iTUNES, I JUST WANT TO DOWNLOAD THE FILES TO THE SAME DEVICE AGAIN" (but that isn't an option!).
What do I have to do to recover these files?
Don't tell me I have to purchase them again! That would be BULLSH*T (sorry, I'm annoyed and don't understand why this isn't easier. It should be OBVIOUS.)

I ordered them on the iPad, and there was no pop-up notification that said "you should sync it (with the cable) to your PC" ... I have my order number and everything.
I mean, its the SAME DEVICE -- same identical iPad 2, same device serial number, same Apple ID ... I get that the movie studios don't want to see any piracy, and I support that (which is why I'm using Apple iTunes!) ... but what the heck is this "they're deleted off the device .. their gone!".
That seems very anti-consumer and I'm stunned that Apple hasn't taken a harder line about it, in the customer's interest. What if my iPad had been stolen? I mean, not my fault -- but the movies I purchased (digital media) aren't replaceable? I cry B-S.

My itunes movie will not play on ipad?

I have just purchased and downloaded my first movie from the itunes store. It plays in itunes, but will not sync with my ipad. I also purchased a second movie at the same time. The second movie works as I would exppect. i.e. I can play it in itunes, and sync it and play it on my ipad. When I try to sync the first movie I get the message ...was not copied to the iPad because you are not authorised for it on this computer. Clearly I am authorised, as it's my computer and it plays on my computer, just not on my ipad. Anyone know what's going on or how to fix it? Not a great first experience of buying movies form the itunes store.

ITunes and App Store problems on iPad today

I can browse content, but it fails to download anything, errors out saying can't connect. Anyone else getting this?

I noticed same problems, but additionally, my IPAD crashed while I had been using.
I cannot get it to come back on through soft or hard reset. I even put it on sync mode and it doesn't appear in ITunes sync page. What or how do I get it back on? I KNOW it has plenty of charge
