I guess i wasted money on a movie off itunes, I want to burn it to dvd! But i cant figure it out! Plz help is there a way to? I know data dvd but i want it to play in my dvd player. Plz help i would be very greatful!

"You shall be entitled to export, burn (if applicable) or copy Products solely for personal, noncommercial use. You shall not be entitled to burn Video Products."
That's what the iTunes Store Terms of Service say (chapter 9b).
Most people (including me) read these legal mumbo-jumbo after purchasing, but it's all written down.
The right holders don't like you to burn the videos on DVD.

  • I have a Disney Movie Rewards account that is connected to me iTunes account and the movies I have digital copies for aren't loading in my iTunes movie library.  How do I get them there if I've already connected the two accounts?

I have a Disney Mvoie Rewards account that is connected to my iTunes account.  I have downloaded digital copies of movies I have purchased before such as Thor: The Dark World, but I recently purchased Saving Mr. Banks and it is not loading in my iTunes movie Library.  How do I get it to load there once I have redeemed the digital copy code and have confirmed the two accounts are connected?

Go to Settings>General>Date and Time and make sure it is correct, including time zone.

You cannot do this.  You can make a backup copy to data dvd, but you CANNOT burn to a dsik that you can watch in a DVD player.

  • Convert iTunes movies to DVD

I have purchased several movies from iTunes. Since most of the times these movies are played on my APPLETV. However from time to time the children want to watch the movies in their room. I can not find any menu option that will allow me to burn purchased movies to a DVD.
Please explain how to do this?

If I recall, most of the U.S. based companies have been slapped down by the courts.
I purchased the movie, I should be able to burn it to a DVD and watch it on any TV I choose.
No, you didn't. You bought a license for certain types of use of the content. You did not buy a license to burn the movie to DVD. If you had purchased a DVD of the movie, the reverse would be true. You would not have purchased the right to rip the movie to digital format. Some DVDs, which generally cost more, come with an additional license to download the digital content.
I buy music downloads from ITunes, and can burn them, why not movies??
Two entirely different industries. Music went digital quite a while before video and the content providers were caught unawares. It's a pretty safe bet that, if they could, the music producers would prevent you from doing a lot of things.

  • I have 32 gb ipod and i inst new os 5.1 but after that i am not able to add movies...so plz help me

i have 32 gb ipod and in last week i int the new os that is 5.1 but after the same i am not able to add movies and music ...so plz help me in this

Do you really mean iOS 5.1, or do you mean iOS 5.0.1? If you do mean iOS 5.1, that has not yet been released yet so you you have a beta version, for which we cannot provide help here. If you are a registered Apple developer, you hvae recourses through which to request assistance and report problems.
If you have iOS 5.0.1, post back with details - your model of iPod (3rd generation or 4th generation), the operating system on your computer, the version of iTunes, and the exact symptoms of the problem - and someone here can probably then offer suggestions.
    Regards.

  • ITunes movies to DVD?

I was just wandering if I could put the movies I have purchased on iTunes on a DVD somehow....

You can if what you want is to make a backup, but you can't convert a purchased video to any other format, including burning to a video DVD. The copy protection there at the insistence of the content providers will not allow such conversion. All you can do is back up the video; you can't play it on anything other than your computer, a video iPod, or the just-announced AppleTV.

  • Clarification ? re saving iTunes movies to DVD

I just want to ask a clarification question about burning a data dvd of movies and tv shows that I have purchased off of iTunes. If I do burn them on a dvd, can I then delete them from my iTunes (as my hard drive is getting full) but still play them in iTunes from the dvd? Obviously I don't want to delete them from the drive if I won't have access to them anymore...or should I just copy them off onto an external firewire drive? (or both?)
I am thinking that it should work since I found in some of the discussion that I should be able to download video content from iTunes to my desktop machine, burn them as a data backup on a dvd and then be able to play them on my laptop which is also authorized for my iTunes account? Are the videos then played directly from the dvd or do I need to have enough hard drive space on the laptop to copy it over before playing?
Please set me straight if this isn't correct! Thanks!

Yes you can do both - burn and transfer to an ext HD. I burn/transfer then drag back when I want to play. I have never tried to play from a data DVD. Burn one and see. I have dragged the file back and it will play on an authorized Mac.
You will have to set your burn to data CD/DVD.

  • How do i burn iTunes movies to dvd

    Hi,
I purchased several t.v. programs from itunes , would like to make more room on mac desktop, so want to burn programs to dvd's. How do I do that? Thanks, Pamela

You're better off putting the entire iTunes library on an external hard or flash drive. If you want to use DVDs anyway, burn the movie files to a data DVD in the Finder and drag them back when needed.
Content burned to DVD in this way isn't playable outside of a computer, and for DRM protected content, outside of iTunes.

  • Burn itunes movie to dvd

I purchased a few movies and want to burn them to a dvd.  How can I do this?  Apple seems to make this very difficult to do.

The movie studios make it difficult for Apple to allow you.
Basically you cannot burn them to DVD except in the form they are presently for backup purposes or to transfer to another device you can authorize to play them.

  • Itunes Movie to DVD

I have downloaded a movie using i Tunes is it possible to burn it onto a DVD? and if so - can someone twll me how to pleASE?
    THANKS

You can only burn your movie to a Data DVD to create a backup, you can't burn it to a "playable" DVD for use in a regular DVD player or a software program other than iTunes.

    Hi!
I had the exact same issue, being on a mac. If you are on a mac and the connection error message occurs, then use this link http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_osx.dmg
It allows you to download it offline, which is what I used.

  • Terrible Quality issue with MPEG 2 (DVD- encode plz HELP!!!

    Hello,
I edited something short in FCP 5 and wanted to make a DVD but the resulted mpeg-2 file has grabage all over. Not just square artefacts but a lot of problems like an old VHS maybe (but it isn't video noise either). It's more like a DV tape that would be ******.
I tried to recompress in DV and the resulting quicktime .mov file is fine. But every time I encode it in any of the DVD presets it is terrible. Also tried MPEG-1. Same.
As for the 2 pass encodes they crash my computer...
Please help Obi-Wan Compressor you are my only hope.

If you're running some flavor of Compressor 2, then try using the One Pass setting (but not the One-Pass VBR setting) at 6.5 Mbps. If you're still having issues, other things to try:
up the One Pass bit rate to 7.5 Mbps
Alter GOP to Open (from the default Closed)
Alter GOP structure to IP (from the default IBBP)
If I'm having issues with Compressor 2's Two Pass encodes, I can usually save my hide with a One Pass 7.5 Mbps Open IBBP GOP encode. If that doesn't work, Plan B is to do a One Pass 6.5 Mbps Closed IP GOP encode.
Or are you using Compressor 1?

  • Can I burn an iTunes movie to DVD?

I have an older powerbook g4 with dvd burner but can't seem to burn movie from itunes. Anyone have suggestions? Thanks

You can only burn movies to a backup DVD in iTunes; they cannot be burned to a video DVD. If the movie isn't DRM protected, use software such as iMovie and iDVD to create a video DVD of it.

  • ITunes movies, "near-DVD quality"??? too much $$?

Has apple released the actual specs for the "near DVD-quality" besides 640x480? I notice that the movies in iTunes store are 1.3-1.6GB in size. Although the convienence is nice to download movies, Apple is gonna have to reduce the price being that most consumers can buy these titles on DVD at DVD-quality, used or new from $6 to $14.
    Macbook/iMac 20" intel   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I suspect the first method copies the data as a bitmap image, regardless of the fact that the source was a compressed image format. Save the files to your computer and embed them from there.
