Itunes movies from Blurays showing blank

I downloaded the movies from the portable disk that come with blurays but they are continuously playing blank with no audio. It appears to be some sort of DRM conflict. I have downloaded the movie several times now but I cannot get it to work. When I play the movie in Windows its a grey screen when on a mac it's just simply a black screen.

Showing checked screen when mirroring hd itunes movies from macbook to tv?

it's dvd's DRM encryption kicking in
it's by design if you use remote desktop from another computer to the computer
    the same thing would happen
people say that the free player vlc don't have the issue
if that is the case then vlc are breaking the law as stripping a dvd's movie stream of encryption is not really legal

  • How can I get an itunes movie from macbook to apple tv via airplay, how can I get an itunes movie from macbook to apple tv via airplay

how can I get an itunes movie from macbook to apple tv via airplay?

You don't use Airplay.  You set up Home Sharing on both and under the Computers section of AppleTV you'll then find it under Movies (or Rentals if rented), assuming it's in a compatible format.

  • How can I move my itunes movies from my iMac to my mac mini which is serving as a media server attached to HDTV?

I want to move my itunes movies from my iMac to my Mac Mini, which is hooked up to my HDTV, so that I can save space on the iMac and use the direct source Mac Mini to view the iTunes movies that I purchase and download.  Can anyone give me ideas on how to do that?

iTunes does not have provision for automatically storing one kind of media on a separate drive, so you have some basic decisions to make first.  Do you want these movies to still appear in your iTunes library, or are you content with browsing filenames on a drive in Finder when you want to look for one?  The second's the easiest thing because then you don't have to have an external drive permanently turned on and attached to your computer (wired or wireless).  To do that you literelly only need to drag your movies folder to an archive drive and delete movies from iTunes.  To watch them again you can add it back to iTunes while holding down the option key so the movie is used from its location on the external drive.
There's ways to move the movies to an external drive while keeping them in iTunes but the external drive iwll always have to be turned on and connected to the computer or you will see a bunch of broken link exclamation marks.
Realize what you are talking about is not "backup".  Backup (which you should do) is putting a second or more copy of items on external drives for the day when your internal drive fails and everything on it is lost, inclduing all your home photos and perhaps things that have been pulled from the iTunes Store and can no longer be re-downloaded.

It's right at an hour (consistently), but the computer goes to sleep prior to that. It's as if iTunes goes to sleep. Also, it wasn't always this way. Originally, the movies played through without interruption. At some point, I guess a setting was changed, and now I only get an hour. Also. My energy settings are set to go to sleep at 10 minutes.

They're backed up automatically unless in a folder in the exclusion list of the Time Machine pane of System Preferences.

Can't. This is done for the individual movie, not by iTunes.
    Some have it, most don't.

  • Apple TV 1st generation- can't seem to transfer rented Itune movies from my Mac to the Apple TV

Apple TV 1st generation- can't seem to transfer rented Itune movies from my Mac to the Apple TV

You need to establish if it was 1080p or 720p HD you downloaded.
If it's 1080p it will not play at all on AppleTV1 - the hardware is not powerful enough to decode 1080p h264 (or 720p above 25fps).  When AppleTv1 came out most items were SD only and with time more 720p HD stuff became available.  1080p content cm after AppleTV 1 and 2 were replaced by AppleTV 3.
AppleTV2 can process but not display 1080p - it is stuck to 720p output.
AppleTV1 could only process 720p max, but could always upscale on output to 1080p!
Your iTunes Preference should determine what quality you are downloading/renting.

  • How do I copy an iTune movie from my laptop to my netbook?

OK, I hope you can understand what I'm trying to do. I have iTunes on my laptop where I sync my iPod. I loaded iTunes on my netbook (but don't plan on syncing with my iPod, leaving that for the laptop). Anyway, I have movies on my laptop and iPod. I can use my account on my netbook, which is fine.
Now I copied a movie from my laptop to a flash card. I took the flash card to my netbook, it plays the movie fine, but I wanted to copy it to the iTunes on the netbook so I don't have to carry the flash card around. I did a copy on the drive the card was in and did a paste to "Program Files" then to "iTunes", figuring it will go to the right spot. Well, it showed that it was there but when I tried to play the movie it said it couldn't locate it.
Where am I going wrong in the pasting of the movie after I do the copy? Can it be done?

Make sure that the option to "copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" is set in the iTunes -> General preferences. Then just drag the movie from the flash card to the iTunes window. iTunes will copy the movie to the correct place.
Content you copy into the Program Files -> iTunes folder will never be recognized by iTunes (that's not where iTunes keeps it's media) so you can delete that copy of the movie.
    Regards.

  • HT2729 no video on iTunes movies or TV shows

no video on iTunes movies or TV shows

I can't rent any movies or tv shows. It worked a week ago. It doesn't work now. The TV says it can't connect to iTunes. I rented a movie on my iMac itunes. It appears on the TV screen but when I highlight and press the remote control I get the wheel of death, and nothing happens. I can watch youtube, I can watch videos from the computer that I have bought previously. I can't watch the video I just rented on iTunes and I can't rent any new videos.

  • ITunes movies will not play; blank window.

I recently purchased several HD movies from the iTunes Store (~$15.00 or more each), and now I've discovered they will not play on my MacPro (I do not own a TV.)
When I click the movies a separate window opens (as usual), but it remains black and nothing plays, If I move the movie window to another screen (I have three 30" Apple Cinema displays connected to a 2010 MacPro) the movies still will not play on any of the screens. If I change the iTunes settings to open the movie in the iTunes window, the movies still does not play. This problem seems to be recent, I have purchased MANY HD moves/TV shows from the ITunes store and have not had this problem until very recently (a month or so.)
If I try to open the movie with QuickTime instead of iTunes I get this message: "This movie cannot be played because it is on a display that is not authorized to play protected movies. Try moving this window to a different display or disconnecting any displays that are not HDCP authorized."
The only thing I can find buried in the iTunes Terms and Conditions is "(viii) An HDCP connection is required to view content transmitted over HDMI." But I am not transmitting over HDMI, the displays are connected directly to the MacPro and I don't have any HDMI cables connected to the machine. There is NOTHING at the time of purchase that indicates the HD movie will not play on my Apple displays.
Is it just the HD version of the movie? Would the SD version play OK?
How can the displays I'm using not be "authorized" it's an Apple display, using Apple cables/adapters connected to an Apple MacPro.
Any insight, information, or constructive help would be greatly appreciated (I do have a Apple support call scheduled for tomorrow...)
    Thanks.

  • How can I move my iTunes movies from my computer to an external hard drive? After I copy them to the drive, do I just delete them from my computer? How will I be able to watch them again?

    Hi,
I have a MacBook Air (July 2013) with the latest Mavericks OS X. I also have the lastest version of iTunes.
My computer has very little memory left, so I wanted to free some up. When I looked, movies were taking up a considerable amount of space. I want to move them from my computer, but still be able to watch them if I want to later. I haven't purchased an external drive yet, because I didn't know what size to get. I also have a lot of Photoshop files that are taking up a lot of memory, so I might put some of those on too. Would you recommend a 1 TB one or bigger?
Can you take me through the exact process of moving my iTunes movies to the external drive? I understand where to find the files (My Name<Music<iTunes Media<Movies), but am stuck from there. Do I simply drag them to the external drive and then delete them? Will this delete them from my iTunes library? How will I go about watching them again? I assumed that I would just plug the external hard drive in, click in the movie and watch. Is it this simple? I only want to move my movies, otherwise I would follow tutorials for backing up the library. Once you back up the movies, can you delete them from your computer?
    Thanks,
    Molly

  • Transfer purchased HD iTunes movie from Apple TV to iMac

    Hello,
If I purchase a HD movie from iTunes can it be transferred to my iMac? Then, I would like to take that copy and put on my Macbook (with USB stick?) which is in turn synced to a second Apple TV. All of my hardware shares the same iTunes account.
If I can't do this with HD movies, can I do it with standard format?
    Thanks in advance.

to expand on my previous post:
If I purchase a HD movie from iTunes can it be transferred to my iMac?
again, yes. iTunes should be set up as a syncing library, though. purchases made on the TV should sync back to the synced iTunes library automatically on the next sync.
Then, I would like to take that copy and put on my Macbook (with USB stick?)
either using a USB stick or via your network. you could also set up _*Home Sharing*_ on both Macs.
