ITunes movies lag across netowkr - but only in itunes.
I use itunes on my home network so my kids can watch movies in their rooms. I noticed the movies can be quite choppy and sometimes stutter. It's almost like the frame rate is dropping every other frame.
After a long testing process I have determined the movies only lag in itunes itself. If I watch them in VLC or even WMP I see no problem whatsoever.
My home network is gigabit with no bottlenecks of any kind.
I don't mind using VLC on my computer but I want my children to use itunes because it is so user friendly for them.
What kind of settings can I play with in itunes to prevent this lag from happening? Any suggestions?
Hi there. I'm having this same problem, but right now, viewing video in iTunes is my only option b/c my operating system is so old. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

While setting up a webpage, I created a movie album with 3 movies. They all play correctly until i publish them and then 1 movie plays on all 3 pages

I am attempting to load a .mov into a timeline, but only audio loads. It plays fine in a quicktime player, but will only load the audio.

I want to buy the movie Crazy Stupid Love but it is not available in the US, only in the UK. I live in the US but is it possible to switch the itunes store so that I can buy that movie?
It used to be in the US iTunes Store as that's where I purchased it. Often the studios will temporarily pull a movie from the store during times the movie is scheduled to be shown on TV or cable TV as the TV network has been granted exclusive access during the period. It will return to the store later.

I have an iMac, an iPhone, and a MacBook Pro. My full iTunes library is on the iMac and iPhone, but only a handful of songs are on my MacBook. They are all associated with the same Apple ID. When I try to sync, I get a warning message stating that I will lose songs on my phone which aren't on the laptop. How transfer my music from my phone to the laptop?

I would do a transfer of purchases from the phone and not sync. If you sync then it will want to start over and sync music that is on the MacBook Pro. I have many movies. I have moved them a few times. Now each movie shows up about 4 times in the video list but only 1 of the 4 is a valid path. How can I get rid of the invalid one in-mass. I know I can do them individually but it would take too long. So I want to do a bulk clean up so all the links are valid but I can't find a way to do it.
Install iTunes Folder Watch and set its option to check for dead tracks on startup. This will root out any tracks that are no longer in your folders, and can add any that are in your folders, but not in iTunes.

Im trying to use my apple TV to see a movie from my iphone. Since i select the airplay icon on my phone, i can only hear the voice of the movie on my screen but i cant see the movie, can anybody help me pls? Tks

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item. -

I have just set up itunes match on my new imac. It is saying I can access all my 9000 songs but only the playlist tab is live - I can't access albums or songs. Am I missing something?

I do not understand your problem. iTunes Match does not change the way iTunes looks. When match process is complete, the match screen tells you how much music you have in the cloud.
Across the top of screen you have options to select songs, albums, artist, composers etc.
Suggest that from main menu, select view>show sidebar.

Why itunes cannot play movies on its library but on quicktime?
Hello to everyone.
I have this issue with some .m4p and .m4v movies, which no matter if I change their extension file to .mov, itunes only shows me a black window and I can only see an image when I push forward but the movie never play.
It's weird for me, because itunes save the movies on its library but it cant play them!
The only way to watch them is with quicktime, so what can I do to watch them on itunes???
Before I forgot, I can also watch them on my Apple Tv streaming them from itunes library too.

At least I can use my Mac again to view movies but the problem of less resolution in itunes only is still there. My brother has the same macbook, same yosemity and same itunes. It works. Obviously it has to do with other SW on the Mac. Yesterday we removed Displaylink SW (i believe that was the name of the SW?) from my Mac. Perhaps it is not yet compatible with yosemity?

i have done all 7 steps recommended by the troubleshooting articles and only when i restart my router does my library show on apple tv2 but only for about 5 minutes, this was never a problem before the updates of itunes and apple tv2, i have spent insane amounts of money on the apple store buying movies and tv shows that i cannot watch anymore, and no there is no firewall on my laptop nor my router, so no port configuration is needed
i have read many articles for this problem but there is no solution, some say restart the router, others say uncheck the option to sync iphone over wi-fi, others suggest not hitting the "done" button after setting up homeshare on itunes, NONE of them work. My itunes library disappears from ym apple tv 2 after 5 minutes or soDid not work. I've selected iMessage to ON and left it. After a few hours I recieved a message "activation unsuccessful. Turn on iMessage to try again". This has been going on for the past 3 days.

Depending upon what country that you are in (music and films can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the incomplete music tracks and the film from your iTunes library and redownload them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music and/or films or if they re-download in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that album and/or film and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, 24 to 48 hours).
Some people have had a problem with the 'report a problem' link (it's been taking people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) - if it does that to you then try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.
