Itunes movies skips, including sound.

I downloaded Fight Club and Oceans 11-13 and every time i play any of these movies, it skips a bit then the sound doesn't match the picture. I dont know what to do. Help!

Movies skip and Sound timing is off

Just got a new computer with vista and when I try to watch downloaded movie, the movie skips and the sound is off timing. Tried to go to support website and work the fixes but, none of them worked. Also at the bottom a little disclaimer that said movies may not play correctly with the "brand new" video card that I have. Using Windows Vista Professional.

Might be a good idea to remove the video clips completely to see if this helps resolve the out of sync issue. Or you can search this forum for the topic in question. Namely, video and audio out of sync. You mentioned multiple camera sources. This isn't uncommon when at least one or more of your sources was shot with anything other than 16 bit audio. So, search this forum for 16 bit audio also. It should provide you with a link to apple's KB which explains why it's important to stay with 16 bit as opposed to 12 bit audio which some consumer grade camcorders will default to.

ITunes Movies Skipping

I purchase 2 movies from itunes.
None of the movies will play properly when I hook up my 12" G4 867mhz
to my TV and play the movies. The video skips every 5-10 seconds the entire
way through the video.
I used to be able to buy lost episodes and other TV shows but since the upgrade to the movie store, none of the new content will play. This is really too bad and WTH happened?

Closed Caption Features for iTune Movie Downloads?

While I was glad to see that Apple plans to offer a movie download service with the iTunes Store, I'm still inclined to NOT use the service if there's no assurance that closed captioned/subtitled movies will be available as well.
Will iTunes Movie downloads include captioned media?
Today's DVDs all have features enabling us to turn on captions/subtitles and it's already a shame that Netflix, according to a representative's comment made nearly two years ago, will not provide captioned movies "until the near future"...
I hope Apple takes its hearing-impaired (deaf and hard of hearing) customer base into consideration...and it IS a sizeable customer base.

The question on the minds of the millions of deaf and hard of hearing people is whether Apple will make or enable captioning for their downloadable movies. I blogged about this a few weeks ago at HearingExchange online here: http://www.hearingexchange.com/blogs/?p=93 Apple didn't consider people with hearing loss when they made their iPhone non-compatible with hearing aids and cochlear implant processors. For a technology company, they aren't keeping up with accessibility trends. dolby surround or "ProLogic" isn't "dot" anything, it is simple 2 channel audio. basically it uses a matrix to decode the audio and "steer" audio to the appropriate channel. ProLogic decoders generally have a left, center, right, surround left, and surround right output... but the surround outputs are actually a mono output, just happen to have 2 physical outputs because most installations had 2 rear speakers. there is a subwoffer output to, which is a crossovered output from the decoder's summed output.
the simple explanation of the way it works...
if audio is only in the left channel, it plays back on the left speaker
ditto right channel, right speaker
if audio is on both left and right channels and "in phase" then it plays back on the center speaker
if audio is on both left and right channels but "out of phase" it plays back on the surround speakers.
ProLogic steering is not 100%, so there is some leakage between channels, and of course signals can be mixed so can have multiple sound elements playing back in various left / right / in phase / out of phase combinations to give you that 360 surround capability.
5.1 is more effective as it eliminates the need to "steer" and simply allows the audio engineer to output any sound he wants to any speaker.
i'm not going to conjecture quite yet what is going to happen with ITMS and surround, but i have to believe that it is coming. high end surround processors and receivers have been using Cirrus Logic decoders that are capable of decoding multi-channel AAC for some time now, so that is 1 option for discrete surround implementation.

I can't play iTunes Movies in 5.1 surround on my surround sound system

I like to download iTunes movies to my MacMini from iTunes store. Recently I gave up doing so because I can't play iTunes movies in 5.1 surround on my surround system. My MacMini is connected to my Marantz 6007 SR via HDMI cable. However I can get DTS or 5.1 surround sound from my system with other players such as VLC player.
How can I fix this problem as I really want to buy or rent movies from iTunes store?

It sounds like your Mac Mini is able to output 5.1 audio to your surround sound receiver, but iTunes purchases do not play in surround sound.
When playing iTunes purchases, first see if iTunes is set to output the movie you're playing in surround sound:
Set up iTunes to play content in surround sound
Movies you purchased or rented from the iTunes Store may have stereo audio and digital surround sound tracks. ...
In iTunes, click the Speech Bubble icon to view your audio choices, such as English (Surround). If the surround sound choice is dimmed or the icon doesn't appear, make sure you are using the appropriate hardware and that the content is encoded with digital surround sound.

And this thread was about a completely different subject and is from back in March. Select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History on your computer.

Ok nw the rented film is on the iPad which won't play and when I looked at the Mac I was greeted with an error message saying that the film could nt be transferred because the file had already been transferred somewhere else! Thing is I can see it on theioad and the Mac still!
Obviously the film Kees checking where it as you can't watch it in two places at the same time. I can understand that but I knw it's not anywhere else.
The only thing I can think of is if when time machine backs it up it thinks it's being watched!

Playing iTunes Movies in 5.1 surround on my surround sound system

I have the opitcal cable working. I have changed the channel seletion to surround on the movie and there is no audio. So, in short, I want to use my MacBook Pro to play iTune movies in 5.1 on a surround system. Currently, I am running OS X 10.4.11 and iTunes 9.2.1. I can play DVD's back in 5.1, so this must be an iTunes issue. Please help.

Channel selection on the receiver right?
Also, do a "Get Info" on the file you are attempting to play in iTunes. Does it show Surround (or something similar) for the "Channels" tag?

After upgrading to Mountain Lion I have problems with iTunes movie playback, and the audio/video at times stalls/delays, or skips a few seconds, or even gets out of sync. Itunes video skips

I was wondering why iTunes movie player runs so choppy? I compare it to my VLC player and the iTunes movie player seems greatly inferior. I can only seem to run movies on iTunes at 640x352 resolution and 2200 kbps but anything more will cause the video to skip and play skittishly. I can however, run a 1980x1080 14000 kbps movie on my VLC player and it runs perfect. I really love the Apple iTunes interface so I would like to make my higher quality movies play if possible (Not the 1080p HD just something around 853x478 2000-2500 kbps). Here is my computer specs:
Processor: Intel Core i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67 GHZ
Installed memory (RAM): 6.00 GB
System Type: 64 bit OS Windows 7
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250
I have double checked and I do have the most current Quick Time /iTunes programs installed. I also have the latest drivers for my devices including my Video Card. I have over 1 TB free Hard Drive Space and the system is defragged. I have checked, double checked and triple checked everything I can think of.
I was thinking of getting more RAM because I heard iTunes is a memory hog but not really sure if that would solve my problem. Many people just say iTunes is a bad player but I hear other people getting higher quality movies to run fine. The movies I make are made using the encoder Handbrake with suggested settings for Apple devices. These videos work fine on my iphone or ipad but my when I try to play them on my computer via iTunes, they run choppy.
Anyone have any answers? If you need more info about my system, I will supply the info. Thanks for your help!
