Itunes movies / tv files not playing unless 32 bit

since last upgrade and down loading some files from the icloud i have recieved error message saying the file cant run with quick time, very odd. after a while i found a comment saying change itunes to open to 32 bit and then things worked better but most album covers are gone, irritating when my library looked good, no spoilt.
are icloud downloads only 32 bit?
i have a large library of tv / movies so store them on the time machine and stream. this worked fine.
also, every time i down load a file i have to first check that the down load will go in the time machine location not the user file. irritating that this always changes.
any comment?

Unless the radio station is in Itunes you should not be able to listen to radio through airtunes. It is possible though. Where I live a guy made some .mov files that linked to some radio stations that was not available in iTunes. I transfered these .mov files into iTunes and that worked. Don't know what he did though. Maybe someone else in here knows.
You can't listen to sound from a movie through Airtunes - unfortunately.

Well, I'm surprised there hasn't been more of a storm over this one already but I expect there will be.
Just got a new MacBook last week and finally found a mini Display Port -> VGA adapter so i could use my 19" external display. I rented a movie from the iTunes store yesterday and when I tried to play it on my external display, it gave me a warning/error that the display was 'not an authorized HDCP display' and it would not play. Plays fine on the small MacBook screen, just nothing external. To make it even worse, i tried all the movies that I have purchased from the iTunes store with the same result... NONE of them will play on anything but the MacBook's small 13" screen. This is crazy unacceptable.
Has anyone else run into this yet or have any ideas of something I may be overlooking in order to get purchased movies to play on an external display?

Hm, how many Apple users did I see scorning Vista and its content protection madness; agreeing with Peter Gutmann's searing critique of Vista[1].
And here we are now with Apple users who have spent thousands of dollars on Apple hardware (30" Cinema displays are not cheap!), buying films legitimately through Apple's store only to find themselves screwed when they just want to watch the film!!!
The deeper questions we should be asking is if Apple have done anything to enable end-to-end encryption. Vista made significant sacrifices to efficiency and stability to get there, what has Apple done to our OS? We have no technical details on this yet, but wouldn't Apple be improperly implementing HDCP (in spirit if not letter) if it didn't force end-to-end encryption from source to final destination, most of which has to go through your system?

Movies (.m4v files) that play great my Mac, not on Apple TV

I have some movies (.m4v files) that play great through iTunes on my Mac, I sync them to my Apple TV (original version), and I see them in My Movies. I try to play them but they stop after a few seconds and the Apple TV gets frozen. MP4 file types play fine as do movies purchased from iTunes. Any suggestions?

the files might be slightly out of spec for the appletv (the rule is just because something plays in itunes does not automatically make them appletv compatible).
you'll need to post more specific info about the files before a more detailed explanation can be made.

Annoying isn't it.
This seems to have started at the end of October and may be some kind of 'authorisation expiry' on the original unit that needs updating.
Solution include:
Purchase something on the AppleTV1 itself with DRM (a free TV Show episode might be an idea if yiou can find one).
Remove the connection to itunes by removing the iTunes library from AppleTV's Computers>Settings menu, then add it back again.
Remember this will wipe synced content from the AppleTV if AppleTV1 is syncing (My Movies/TV Shows etc) as opposed to streaming (My Shared Movies etc) from that itunes library. In theory direct purchases on AppleTV that have never transferred to itunes might survive the 'wipe for a clean slate for a new sync' process that happens when you remove a sync library but don't risk it and right click on the AppleTV Device in itunes, choose Transfer Purchases if there are any prior to resetting the AppleTV Computers entry and readding the library. If AppleTV is streaming only it's very quick to remove the libarry and re-add it as there's nothing to sync when you re-establish the connection - it works I've done it. Purchasing a protected music video on my other AppleTV1 which was synced also worked.

Did you copy your actual iTunes content from your computer before reinstalling iTunes, or did you just copy your iTunes library which only contains the pointers to your songs / books locations ?
You might, depending upon your country and if they are still in your country's store, be able to redownload your music purchases and your ibooks via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage - you will need to delete the entries from your library (where you are getting the 'unable to locate' messages) before they will potentially show with the cloud icon against them in Purchased for redownloading.
Or copy them from your backup of your downloads/library and add them to your iTunes library via File > Add To Library

Audio file not playing when previewed or pulised on only one slide

I have one slide that the audio will not play unless the you click on the play button in preview or when published. All other slide audios are working fine and will play automtically when the next button is clicked on the previous slide. I have tried changing the name of the audio file, deleting the sled and the fiel and staring over etc. the audio file were created in another program and then brought into Captivate but thia has not been a problem with any other production up to this point. Any suggestions?

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
