Itunes Multi-Pass

Hi, i am not getting too much info on this New Multi-pass option now
i was looking at The Daily show and i see that option
if i pay 9.99, does that i mean i will NEVER have to pay for downloading episodes again
or its only for the next 15? 30?

It is the equivalent to the "Season Pass" offered on shows that have traditional seasons. In the case of The Daily Show, the Multi-Pass "includes the most recent episode (if one is available) and the next 15 new episodes of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
Details for Season Passes and Multi-Passes are listed a little bit below the "Buy Multi-Pass" button (directly underneath the airdate and time).

I am going to buy the Colbert Report multi-pass and it says it cost 9.99. It says it will updated and give me episode's as they are available. Will it charge me 9.99 for every new updated episode that updates onto Itunes?

No, there's no other charge (other than, of course, for episodes from seasons not included in that multi-pass).

  • The Daily Show Multi-Pass: how does this work?

I subscribed to the Daily Show Multi-Pass. The store said it was busy and try again later. So I thought I'd do it later but meanwhile got an email saying I had the multi-pass and 9.99 has been deducted from my account!
The email has a link to view account preferences. It says that 2 of the 16 episodes have been downloaded - nothing has been downloaded (and only one show is currently available).
According to the email: "You will receive an email when future episodes of The Daily Show are available and the episodes will be downloaded automatically to the account listed above the next time you sign in to iTunes." What? When is that?
It would be great if this worked with RSS like podcasts instead of some mysterious download time.
    Is this working for anyone?

Okay here's what you have to do: Go to the Music
Store, and click the button with your e-mail address
at the top right (below "browse"). Then click "Sign
out" in the popup. Then click where your e-mail
address used to be to sign in again. Your episode
    will start downloading.
This is a stupid way for Apple to do it, but at least
it technically works so until they make it easier
this is what we're going to have to do every day.
    Argh!
Hmmm...when I did the above, it ran through the "Checking for purchases" before starting the download. So I wonder if doing the "Check for purchases..." selection under the Advanced menu would do the same thing without the hassle of logging out and in. I'll give it a try tomorrow...

  • 'Days of Our Lives' Multi pass not working

I have a multi pass to Days of Our Lives, and it has not downloaded a new episode since March 17th, despite 12 episodes being available for individual purchase since then. I have contacted support and received no reply and based on the recent comments for the show I am not the only person this is happening to.
I have noticed that the numbers in the first column restarted (so if you sort by the first column you now get two number 1s) on the Tuesday and am sure this must be related to the problem.
Has anyone got this issue sorted out?

I have tried every avenue of reporting this problem and received no response from itunes. I ended up downloading individual episodes and now would like to pursue getting a refund but am unable to locate a phone number or email address to contact them. I really don't understand how any business can provide such poor customer service and get away with it.
Does anyone have a phone number/email to contact itunes about this issue?

  • Multi-Pass question

    Hi,
I have a multi-pass for the Colbert Report. Today, I did not receive an email that the Monday show was ready for downloading. Should I assume that there was a repeat for this day? Is there anyway I can confirm this with Apple? I do not have access to any TV to know what is current or not.
    Thanks,

The time it takes them to post these shows is unacceptably erratic. Sometimes 4-6 hours after it airs, other times nearly 48 hours after it airs. The Daily Show and Colbert Report and both highly topical, so it ***** they wait this long to make them available. I got an e-mail from iTunes Support saying basically that the problem occurs upstream from Apple -- they have to wait for Comedy Central or whoever to pass it along to them. This may be true, but Apple needs to lean harder to make this a worthwhile subscription.

  • Inconsistent Multi-Pass

I recently bought Multi-Passes for the Daily Show and the Colbert Report. They worked as expected for the first two episodes, but today only the Colbert Report downloaded. I received a notification e-mail only for the Colbert Report — however, the same day's Daily Show is available for purchase in iTunes.
First, does this happen often, and will it resolve itself without skipping an episode?
Second, if I purchase the episode separate from the store, might the Multi-Pass later download the same episode and count it against my total?
    Thank you.

First, does this happen often, and will it resolve itself without skipping an episode?
It's been known to happen, and it may resolve itself but I wouldn't suggest you count on it. I'd suggest you contact the iTunes Store customer support department through the form linked from the bottom of their Season Pass FAQ web page (I recommend that you use the form, not the link in your Purchase History as they advise; that's not proven to be very reliable) and explain the problem to them. That way at least they're aware of it.
Second, if I purchase the episode separate from the store, might the Multi-Pass later download the same episode and count it against my total?
If you purchase the episode separately, it will be totally distinct from the Multi-Pass and will not have any effect on what might or might not happen with your Multi-Pass.

  • Multi-Pass on Apple TV

The main reason I bought ATV is to watch Colbert. You can buy a 16 episode Multi-Pass in iTunes but not on ATV. So, I bought it on iTunes thinking that once it synced, ATV would know I owned the next 15 episodes and begin downloading future episodes itself without needing to sync to my MacBook. Guess not. It's a drag because I was hoping that when I come home from work late at night the show (and others) would be loaded up already. Now I have to take out my MacBook and download the full episode (which takes a while) before I can watch it on TV. Anybody know a way around this? It seems very un-Apple-like to set this up so confusing and inconsistent.

Yes. Download by going to the iTunes store - purchased (under quick links)

  • Multi-pass

I subscribed to the Colbert Report Multi-pass last week and got the first show at that time. Now how do I get the next available show? iTunes says it should just download automatically but the 5/8 show is now available but is not downloading for me. thanks.

Look under the iTunes Advanced menu for the "Check for purchases" command and run that. You may find the next video there to be downloaded. If not, contact the iTunes Music Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of this web page and explain the problem to them.
    Good luck.

  • Multi-Pass not updating

I subsribed to a multi-pass for a TV show. Ostensibly, the program automatically downloads new shows as they become available, but so far this hasn't happened--it's only downloaded the first one (the one that had just come out when I bought the pass). I know for a fact that new shows have come out since I bought the pass, and almost a week has elapsed so I don't think it's likely that the new shows haven't been put onto iTunes, especiallu since the show--The Daily Show with Jon Stewart--is quite popular. can anyone tell me why it hasn't been updating, and how to make it do so?

    Bump...someone please help

  • Multi-pass problems

I bought Multi-pass for a couple TV shows (Daily Show & Colbert Report) because I knew I was going to be without satellite for several days. For the first couple days the shows automatically-downloaded ok, but for the last couple of days they haven't downloaded automatically, even though I can see the episodes listed in the ITunes Store. I've tried leaving and entering Itunes and the Itunes store several times, nothing happens... any suggestions?

First, make sure that you're logged into the iTunes Store using the account ID and password under which you purchased the season pass. Then try the "Check for Purchases" command under the iTunes Store menu; you may find the episodes waiting for you there.
If you're sure that it's correct and the missing episodes still aren't appearing, contact the iTunes Store customer support department through the form linked from the bottom of their Season Pass FAQ web page (I recommend that you use the form, not the link in your Purchase History as they advise; that's not proven to be very reliable) and explain the problem to them.
    Good luck.

  • When & How do I get new Multi-Pass episodes?

So I bought a Multi-Pass of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart this evening. A new episode broadcasted an hour ago. I'm wondering how this whole multi-pass thing works regarding when and how I get new episodes. I was hoping/wishing the new episode would automatically download at broadcast time (the show is obviously shot earlier in the day), but such is not the case. So, how does it work? Will it show up sometime tonight? Sometime tomorrow? A week from now? And will I have to go manually download it, or will iTunes automatically detect and download it upon availability? Thanks!
    20 2Ghz G5 iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

When I got up this morning, I checked the Video tab of iTunes to see if a new Daily Show episode was in there. Nothing. So I went to the store to see if a second one had been added, and it had. So then I did the same as sshoop did, and chose the "Check for Purchases..." option under the iTunes Advanced menu, and it downloaded the new episode.
Later today, I saw that Apple had sent me an e-mail which read as follows:
"The latest episode of The Daily Show is now available for you to download. Simply sign in to iTunes and it will begin downloading immediately.
    1. The Daily Show with Jon Stewart 3/08/06
To stop receiving email notification of new episodes, click here to edit your Account preferences.
    Warm regards,
    iTunes Store Team"
    They think so, huh?

  • Want to stop downloading multi pass

  • Daily show not downloading with a multi pass

i have a multi pass for the daily show. the latest episode is available on the itunes store to buy, but won't download with my pass. does anyone know why or how to fix it?

You know the Daily Show is in reruns this week, right? There won't be any new episodes until Sept. 10.

  • Multi-pass not downloading

I purchased the multi-pass for The Daily Show. I was able to download the 3/20/06 episode fine (there was a problem with the file, but the download went fine). However, the 3/21/06 episode has been on iTunes for over 12 hours now, but everytime I check for purchases I get a message saying "All purchased music has been downloaded for this account." Does anyone know if this is related to the problems with episode 3/20/06, or possibly due to some other known problem?

They are working on it now. Check out this thread for more info.
