ITunes music app - No content

Good evening all. It was a fine day, I'm listening to music on my iPhone5, and all of a sudden, my music app goes empty. It says no content. Not only that, my music in itunes all appear to have an exclamation mark beside it. I cant even drag a song and drop it there, it aint working. Anyone got a solution to this? Please help

iTunes is a native iOS app and cannot be deleted. It is probably on another home page or in a folder. Search to see if you find it, and if not, then go to Settings, General, Reset, Reset Home Screen Layout. That should bring it back. The only other thing is if you have turned on Restrictions and have iTunes restrictions turned on.

These are two possible approaches that should work to move the existing library to the new laptop.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase are reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your library or a backup of it then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

Recently my old iMac hard drive crashed. Fortunately, the data is safe on a Time Capsule, and I'd now like to move all the relevant iTunes data (music, photos, device info and apps) to an existing computer and account. Any suggestions on how to approach this?

All of my iTunes music/apps have been deleted, and my iPod is being recognized as a digital camera by the computer. Help?

I went on my iTunes today, and it kept saying "
The itunes library file cannot be saved. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation" I restarted my computer and opened iTunes, only to find that all of my apps and songs have been deleted. When I plug in my iPod, it says that this iPod is registered with another computer. My computer, however, is recognizing my iPod as a digital camera, with the name of my father's iPod. I have no idea how to fix this and get all of my songs/apps back. Someone please help!

Check your iTunes version - although your 5th gen works with older iTunes versions, at least 7.4 is required for the IPT - older versions will not even recognize it.
As for the Apple site not working, there have been sporadic reports of that, no known reason, usually resolved in a few hours.
You could also try updating using Apple Software Update (usually found in Start > All Programs), or from within iTunes (Help menu > Check for Updates).

HT201272 iTunes music downloads missing contents

Hey guys,
really hoping someone out there can help me.I recently downloaded an album, but I'm missing a number of songs. I can't download them again because it says it has been purchased.
When they were downloading I was having issues. iTunes kept freezing up and saying "processing", but nothing would happen for quite a while. So I restarted my computer, and now the songs that were processing are the ones that are missing.
Is there any way I can get them back without it costing any more money?

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then do they show under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes for redownloading ? If music shows there, but those tracks on that album don't have the cloud symbol against them for redownloading, then are those tracks listed in the Music part of your iTunes library (i.e. where you would click on them to play them) ? If they are still listed there (iTunes will be seeing them and assuming that you have the full track and that there is no need to redownload them) then try deleting them from there and they should then get the cloud symbol in Purchased for redownloading.

Transferring my contacts, itunes music, apps, address book, and pics from my iphone to my new MacBook Pro

I bought a new MacBook Pro 4 months ago, had some issues with it, brought it to Best Buy Geek Squad and they . Now I would like to sync my iphone 4 with my computer. However, when I go to do that a message appears that says the computers current information will transfer to the iphone. Well there isn't anything on my computer and so I am afraid if I follow through with it my iphone will lose everything. I am mainly concerned about my address book, itunes and pictures. Is there any way for me to transfer from the iphone to the MacBook Pro?
My husband also has an iphone. I'd like to be able to also sync itunes with his phone but not the contacts. Any suggestions?

While all of us here have MacBook Pros, not everyone (including myself!) have an iPhone.

All music & apps not showing in iTunes

I recently purchased the new MacBook Pro 15" and transferred all my iTunes music, apps etc from a backup from my Time Capsule. However, when I open up my iTunes, the screens meant to be showing my music and apps are blank.
I can access the iTunes store and if I press play then the first song on my list plays and then iTunes crashes.

Thanks for the response. I'm not sure what you mean by right click on the device. In the upper right hand corner of iTunes I see the device, but I am unable to right click on it.
I really just wanted to have the apps show up in iTunes so that i could update them all. (This is how I did it before they all disappeared). But I guess I can just update them directly on my iPad and iPhone. Is there a reason i need to have them show in iTunes is I can update and manage them directly on my iPad?

No AIRPLAY icon shows on the phone's MUSIC app

I have the 4S and use the Zeppelin Air.
The iTunes Music app on the phone does not show the airplay icon in order to chose which player you want to use.
I have to use the DJAY 2, or Beo Player app in order to use any other Bowers & Wilkins airplay device around.
Suggestions?

That's because the AirPlay button has moved to the Command Center.
Swipe up from the bottom and you'll see the AirPlay button on the right. Just above the the Calculator and Camera icons.

Separate iTunes Music & Video Folders

Bothered by the fact that I can't have a separate folder location for my iTunes Music, Apps, Videos, Books, etc. My Music folder is pushing 400GB and I'd like to keep it on an external drive at my office (where I do most of my listening). On the other hand, I need my Apps and Video folders with me at all times so I'd like to keep them on my internal drive in my Users/Music/ folder.
Some Google'ing aroung has lead me to believe that there is no way to fake iTunes into seeing my externally stored Music folder via symlink, etc.
Dear Apple iTunes team... Why oh why can't I do this?

So does that mean I can:
1) open iTunes;
2) go to the Movies & TV Shows portion of Library;
3) drag the files I want to the External HDD;
4) Delete those files from iTunes?
Then How'd I:
5) Rebuild the Old Library to reflect NO Movies & TV Shows?
New Library:
6) I assume I can go to Preferences/Advanced on the New Library and just point to the New Folder on the External HDD?

Camera and Music app deleted?

So earlier this evening I was using YouTube and all other apps on my iPhone normally, and I switched to iTunes Radio and my phone immediately started to freak out, skipping all the songs extremely fast and only playing ads (completely on it's own) and then all of a sudden it sent me back to the home screen which was completely blank except for my wall paper...I waited for a bit and when it did not unfreeze I restarted my phone, and that's when I saw that my camera app, iTunes music app, and Flappy Bird were gone. I searched for all three apps to make sure they weren't tucked away in a folder and had no luck...I searched for specific song titles and every time I do it claims that a song is an "Unsupported URL". I completely reset the iPhone and checked in restrictions to make sure nothing was blocked...I'm running out of ideas. Has anyone had this happen before? Also my Siri or calls haven't been working for a few weeks, during calls I can hear the person but they can't hear me? Could this be related? Please help I'm getting pretty desperate..

The radio is a part of the iTunes Music app.
I don't think you can get iOS 7 on your iPod. Too old.

Intranet Apple ITunes and App Store

In our network environment, we are trying to limit a group of computing devices to only communicate in a secure environment. If we could limit these units to always communicate with a server in a DMZ zone, and the server pass the information to the small group of computing devices.
Is it possible to configure a Mac or windows platform server to work as a relay that can provide connectivity to iTunes and the App Store?
The goal is to have, in a secure environment, access to iTunes and App Store content without having the computing devices ever reach the internet.

The "13" is, I believe, embedded in US Federal law. That does niot answer your question, however.
If you are using a Mac, you can set up accounts for the children and use parental controls to limit acces to things. If you want them to buy things, do it through your own account under control.
